¡Ojalá! Introducción

¡Ojalá! is the world’s first app that allows you to learn Spanish from languages such as Wolof and Darija as well as Modern Standard Arabic, French and English. With ¡Ojalá! you will learn everyday vocabulary and conversations that will allow you to move around Spain and interact with locals at ease.

Why learn Spanish?

Starting a life from scratch in a new country is always challenging. Learning the local language opens an infinite number of doors that will help you settle in. Moreover, Spanish is spoken by over 550 million people in the world and it is the main language in 20 countries: You will always find someone to practice your language skills with! With ¡Ojalá! you will learn the basic conversations that you need to greet and meet locals, move around the city and take public transport, buy food in the supermarket, explain what you feel when you are unwell, and look for a job.

Why ¡Ojalá!?

It is free and you can learn anywhere anytime. We care about your learning process and this is why we have carefully picked the most relevant words and expressions that you will need in your everyday life. We have also integrated grammar aspects that you will automatically assimilate without having to spend hours memorizing grammatical rules.

We want to ensure that everyone has access to education and that is why the app is filled with audio-visual tools so that people who cannot read or write can also learn.

This app has been created by a team of over 30 volunteers collaborating with Action for Education, a grassroots NGO that supports people on the move through free and quality educational programs. Amongst these volunteers, there are Spanish teachers, illustrators, translators, cultural mediators, actors and actresses and video editors. This application has been developed through a pro-bono collaboration with Cobalt Sign.
