  I greatly appreciate the changes to balance and game mechanics. However, it's frustrating that I can't access the Evilpedia while in game. The UI very minimalist (along with other sloppiness) which is weird for an $8 "Ultimate Edition". This is definitely the best version so far, but only by a tiny margin.

  I really hate to say this as someone who has played the Cursed Treasure series for hundreds of hours, but, I don't see the need for the "Ultimate Edition" to exist, it's still basically the same game, there seem to be more maps per tier, and from what I could tell, re-balanced equates to nerfing the hell out of your towers, and reducing the gem count. It took me several tries just to get to the 4th map. My recommendation is buy the old one if you don't already have it, or, go play the old ones on the flash emulators like Flashpoint. Sorry, but thumbs down.

  nah this aint it chief, the towers are practically useless now and im struggling to get past the first 5 levels. the original was balanced and had a reasonable difficulty increase per zone. this doesnt. really hope yall fix this. although i do like the new system of having to spend mana AND gold to get mines and houses. the difficulty is insanely tough. I'll update this review once this is fixed.. EDIT: this is still not fixed but i have some things to add. firstly, the game wanted balacnce. however the skills are so unbalanced its not even funny, the moving crystals one is practically necessary to progress. secondly: the upgrades.. adding 1 damage, A SINGLE POINT OF DAMAGE FOR 250 GOLD. thats insane like thats a straight up scam. the game promised balance but they gave none. End of edit. ill update it once the game becomes a bit more possible to play. I dont want to write this but i care about the game and genuinely want it to be the best version possible.

  Go to Kongregate.com, they'll have you install 1 plugin and you can play this for free. Minus the new title screen pic with BOOBA there is a lack of any new content minus a few mew bugs

  I had just recently replayed the original version of this game on flash, so it was very good timing for this game to come out so I could compare the two. I was excited to be able to play bonus levels, and see how the rebalancing of the difficulty plays out. Unfortunately, it's just worse. I like how the rating system changed from "Don't have any of your gems touched for brilliant" to "Your rating is dependant on how many gems are saved". Gave some nice use for that talent that causes gems to crawl back to the cave, that was a useless one on the original flash version if you wanted to go for all brilliants. Unfortunately, that's kind of where the good stuff ends. The game is way too slow paced now, the towers are weaker, the enemies and waves are stronger. This wouldn't be much of a problem, since it would add more to the strategy element, but the experience gain per level has been HEAVILY nerfed. You used to get multiple thousands of exp on the snow levels, now you get barely a hundred more than the tutorial level. I don't know why it's designed this way, but it just makes the game so much slower paced, where the best strategy is essentially to just replay the first level over and over and over until you finally get enough exp to get the talents that make completing the 5th level and so on even possible. This is not a fun way to play at all, I gave it an honest try but I am just going to stick to the flash version. There's also just a couple of gripes with the UI, I personally preferred the original look more, I don't know why there's hotkeys to place towers when you still have to confirm it on the tile, just takes an extra unnecessary input if you try to use the hotkey. This is enough rambling I think, this game is still good, and if you play it as a time killer then you will probably be okay with this version, but just stick to flash, it's better polished and much easier to play without getting bored of

  So I have spent 250 hours on the original Cursed Treasure 2 (on the Steam version alone) so I'd say I have so legitimate grounds to give feedback. I cannot say with good conscience that I have grasped what the point of this "ultimate" version is. I have played the original version so much that I have absolutely optimized all limited tactics on all maps, day and night versions, and with having now played with the nerfed towers for several hours - this version feels so deprived of fun or fair. The first 8 missions feel significantly harder and the new maps are not exactly in sync in terms of rising difficulty. I saw the developer respond to someone else that this version is more welcoming to new players but I fail to see that in any way. I don't think there were any maps in the first 8 missions that I could beat with a 3-star score on the first try even with all my experience with the previous version, so it just feels like so much backtracking when you need to scrape by with the skill points you get just so that you can barely beat the next level, just so that you can go back to the level that you can now beat. There are also numerous bugs that weren't fixed and a lot of new bugs that were never there - for example, the focusing of the towers seems way worse than before, they seem to unexplainably focus on a target that is definitely not the furthest one on the track and the towers still cannot reconsider their focus before their initial target is dead or out of range. Also, the game is still only 30fps and for some reason the functionality of the ESC key has been taken away and now I cannot use that key to pause the game or to backtrack from the skill tree view to the map - like, what's that all about? Overall, as a huge fan of the previous games this was a big disappointment to me. I hope we'll see some fixes in the upcoming updates. Cheers for the developer still for all your effort, I know from our Twitter discussions that you didn't have an easy time with the publisher.

  If you have the first Cursed Treasure 2 then you have this one. Do not buy the "Ultimate" edition because I have not seen anything Ultimate or even really different about it from the original edition.

  I'm surprised, this is the exact same thing that was released 6 years ago with 2 girls added to the top picture. I thought there would be more interesting spells and towers or enemies. I now can't refund since I'm 2.4 hours into it because I left it running while doing something else. I recommend to not buy this if you have the original cursed treasure 2... I'm mind boggled as to why they don't release a third instead of working on 3 different games at the same time (ai simulator, primateria, deck adventurers 2) if they need the money this bad.

  Okay the balance is wrong in the beginning, there is a wall around map 6 that forces you to grind on the starter levels until you level up enough to get past it. After that the game plays pretty much as normal but there is still a certain amount of grinding required to level up enough to beat the higher levels. If you loved this game back in the day, and if you have the patience to grind maps for xp then you can still get a lot of enjoyment out of this game. I think if they lower the level of difficultly on the first 6 maps and lower the overall xp requirement to level up it would improve the pacing of the game and really make it more enjoyable to play. Grinding the same map 5 or more times just to farm xp shouldn't really be necessary and only detracts from the enjoyment of the game.
