  One of the last performances of the great actress Mary Kay Bergman before her murder. (Officially Suicide, but the facts don't match up.) She does about HALF of the female voices, and I didn't even know it until the final credits. This game is in my opinion the pinnacle of Adventure games. Between this and the Curse of Monkey Island, the genre has NEVER gotten any better, and only results in variations on the theme. If you want to play the defining classic of the Genre, with sex... have fun. Keep in mind, Larry's a loser, and... doesn't really get laid that much. But it's funny, which should solve that problem. And if you really want boobies, there's easter eggs. These days, such a thing would be worth a "Hot Coffee Mod" scandal, but fortunately, the Media has completely forgotten about this game.

  Leisure Suit Larry 7 is the last of the original Sierra series developed with Al Lowe. That's extremely sad since it's also when I think the series really seems to cement their format and style. I found it really interesting that after all this time, after pretty much all developers moving away from text parsers, this game, despite being a Point & Click actually included a semi-optional limited text parser window. It was the oddest mix of old and new. It wasn't needed for most things, but it was needed for a few things such as asking about very specific things or taking specific actions... I feel it was also added so that people could once again type in their own dirty words just for fun. I felt it was totally unnecessary. Another interesting throwback is that, Larry, once again has ended up on another cruise... at least this time it doesn't involve the KGB and possible death around every corner. Instead you take part in a contest to win some exclusive time the Captain Thygh. The graphics in this game are as good as it got for Leisure Suit Larry under Sierra. Shortly after they began making things 3D and shortly after that the company was sold. The graphics are good enough that I feel they hold up pretty well for a Point & Click today. There are wonderfully animated cut scenes, well drawn characters and character animations, and excellent backgrounds. What started out as an odd combination of art styles in LSL5 and started evening out in LSL6 finally seems to be one coherent style in LSL7. The game's mechanics are a little different and especially differ from pretty much all of Sierra's other point and click interfaces. I never got the chance to play this particular one when it came out so this was my first time playing and I didn't feel the interface was intuitive and wasn't what I'd expect based on my experiences with other Sierra P&Cs or other P&Cs from that time. This is especially frustrating at the start of the game when it took me quite a while to figure out how to interact and what to do. There wasn't much help in game to explain it. I suppose it's in the manual, but it's not easily accessible while your in the game. So you know what to expect, your cursor is a condom, when it's rolled like it just came out of the package, it indicates it's not an active hotspot. When it's fully unrolled., like it's been applied to something... it indicates you can do something. Then when you click on a hotspot your given a menu which includes look, take/talk, use (with a sub-menu) and other (the minimal text parser interface). This extends to the inventory in that you have to select use and then the inventory object from a menu. You can't pick up and click an inventory item to another item as is the usual method. I found this to be a lot of extra clicking and looking through menu options which felt cumbersome. LSL7's story isn't it's strong suit. The story is minimal and simplistic. It's comedy, however, is more than enough to make up for it. I love the corny jokes, the puns, the double entendres, the innuendos. Out of all the Larry games this is, in my opinion, the funniest LSL game... however it's also one of the more sexually explicit. There is quite a bit of nudity, naked bodies including a full frontal of Larry (my eyes may never recover), as well as a lot of the various women. Larry does manage to get lucky a few time in the game but he also has quite a few hilarious fails. There's also a sort of mini game in which you look for hidden dildos throughout the game which I believe unlocks some sort of special cut-scene or easter egg or something. It's called "Where's Dildo?" and it's inspired by the popular "Where's Waldo?" books... thus, Dildo is a red and white striped dildo with a red cap. Finding one triggers a dancing dildo saying "Hey Baby" While it was funny the first few times, it got a little annoying as the game went on and you can't skip the dancing scene. While I think this is one of the most fun LSL games to play it does have some pitfalls that tend to be on people's hate lists. 1. There is a fair amount of pixel hunting. Even though your cursor will indicate where an active spot is it's easy to pass over some and since some are multiple spots for the same interaction it's difficult to tell whether you will get something new or a repeat of the same. For example, a room with 6 chairs that all give the same message but each individually have an active status. This can make it easy to miss something important. 2. Obtuse puzzles. Though there are some of the puzzles that are more straightforward there's more than a few places that will stump people and cause them to either look in a walkthrough or use the try everything with everything till they find something that works. I had to use a walkthrough twice on puzzles I was stumped on and one involved what I would call moon logic while the other involved an issue with pixel hunting. There is a lot of wandering back and forth looking for things and trying to figure out what to do, which can be frustrating and I'm willing to be that those who haven't played it before will need to revert to a walkthrough at some point for at least a hint on what to do next. Overall the game is probably about 6-8 hours of playtime for more experienced players in the Point & Click genre especially those familiar with the series. It is probably longer if your not familiar with P&Cs and probably shorter if you've already played through it before. If you only play one of the classic LSL games I suggest this one. If you want to play them all, I'd recommend getting the retro bundle, but make sure you watch for a sale. The bundle frequently goes on sale for less than $15 for 7 games.

  Yeah, baby! Best game in the series and a game that couldn't be done today. Just needs a quick edit of lsl7.conf to get rid of the ugly stretch marks. [sdl] fullresolution=desktop output=overlay [render] aspect=true

  This is a must buy for every point and click adventure lover. Especially if you never played one that was adult themed. It saddens me though, that this game was released without its many language translations which used to come by default many years ago. Nonetheless this game is a comedic genius.

  A classic among classics. This version sadly uses an old DOSBOX version, making any Steam features obsolete. If anyone can get the overlay to work within Steam I will happily give you a Steam giftcard
