Played on Linux using Proton Experimental, This Game is rather good and was very surprised by it. Graphics are okay and do the job, Sound was Good, Game Play was okay too. It's kind of a walk around the house which is not that big (later on some new places), but with nice ghost problems going on, Books falling down, things moving, shadow person, monster creature, etc, is it a rather easy game as for one you cannot die and two it pretty much tells you what to do, So it's more like an adventure game with in a haunted house. I think it's just the atmosphere of the game makes it truly a good horror game to play, It is short with a play time around 1 Hour, but i still recommend the Game.

A horror game is best when all the different elements work together. This game felt more like walk from point A to point B, and we'll throw in a few jumpscares here and there. The ending didn't feel good, and everything felt like it was just kind of 'there'. Not a fan.

Wire Lips is an atmospheric short-form horror game with much to like and hope for. ====== PROS: + Atmosphere + Sound Design + Lighting + Assets + Dark Themes + Blend of horror mediums. ----- CONS: - Story is very simple and little explained. - Mostly walking simulator. - Simple puzzles (too easy). - No replay value. ----- RECOMMENDED? Yes. Its worth a quick play through to experience, especially due to the fit and finish (well-polished), and overall vibe of the game. Though keep in mind, a single play through will assuredly be all you need, and you may not have clarity on all facets of what happened, or why.

This feels a lot like Silent Hill 4 but without the combat (an indie version obviously). All I can really say without spoiling it is that you're trapped in a house and progressively more disturbing things happen as the story ramps up towards it's climax. I really enjoyed it. I wish it was a big longer (I finished it in about an hour) but otherwise, it's a great new indie horror game and we've had quite a lot of bad ones recently so it's nice to see a good one come around. If you're on the fence, go ahead and check out my video to see if this is something you think you might like. If you do end up liking what you see, I do highly recommend that you stop watching the video and play it for yourself just so you don't spoil anything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Cb_VEP1ClY

Short horror game from the developer of Umfend & Fariwalk, about 60 to 90 minutes if you take your time exploring (there are a few collectables and an alternate ending that could be missed). This experience is similar to games like PT and 103 due to a looping psychological effect. Your walk around an apartment in circles as you being hunted by the ghost, and as the character falls into madness it will slowly become more and more disturbing. The game tells you exactly what you need to do to progress, so it's nearly impossible to get stuck. There are a few easy puzzles that do not require much effort, and you can't really die - not that kind of game. Our character is a photographer that receives photos of her missing friends. While the entire game takes places in only a few rooms, there is enough variety that happens through psychological means. The game generally does a good job when it comes to atmosphere and immersion, you can even rotate and zoom in with the camera to look around (normally it would be locked behind the shoulder, for better or worse). The apartment has nice attention to detail, many objects that were made for the game, unlike some cheaper titles that we see Steam. I didn't find the jump scares too scary just because you can't really die, but it had a nice tension.
Pros:
+ many creative jump scares & psychological effects + some collectables and a bonus ending + for an indie game it actually looks pretty good
Cons & Feedback:
Even though I don't mind short games, I would encourage devs to add more replay value through other avenues, maybe more endings.I also have 2 small nitpicks. The camera was a little too close to the character, maybe it would be nice to have the option to zoom out. It also felt kinda odd that you tell the player exactly what to do, in my opinion, it's not the best way to experience a horror game. I understand that it would be too convoluted if you had to 'make tea' on a guess, but still, you don't want to guide a player the entire way IMO. Overall Thoughts: I have been a fan of this developer for a few years now, their games tend to be very creative, and this one is no exception. Out of the last 3 horror games they made this one is my least favourite, but it's only because I thought the other 2 were great. I enjoyed playing through it once, however, it's a little overpriced if you looking for more than 1 hour of content. Holy hell this is some great scary stuff! The cute anime girl looking character ending up in these bizarre situations. The game is short, but there are collactables and an alternative ending. There are a few puzzles they were not that hard, the game does this good since you are always moving on in the horror and not stucked at a puzzle trying to figure it out and get out of the games feeling. And oh boy this game has a great horror feeling to it thats for sure! The place where this takes place is a bit small, but it fits with the feeling of being trapped. There is no voice acting, so for me it was great since if you cant have a great voice actor then dont have any at all Well this game is a hidden gem, and I am glad that steam recommended it to me. The only thing I think will make some people a bit not that happy is that it is a short game, but still it is full of content!

A decent walking simulator with great atmosphere and nice jumpscares, but no storyline. Finished in 60 mins.

Loved this. Lots of creep factor without a billion jump scares. Beautifully done, especially the audio :) BTW: Find all the collectables to unlock another ending.

A well crafted horror game from two indie developers. It's short runtime is very well paced. The story can be a little hard to place, especially for those who aren't used to/don't like the piece-it-together style of story-telling, but I really enjoyed how it was told. It can, at times, rely a little heavy on jump-scares that in my opinion weren't necessary as the atmosphere is fantastic, making the game almost intense to play which, again, I love. A few quick notes to the devs or whoever is interested in this kinda feedback: - The animations were very good for such a small team - Character models are also very good - the environment is well made, textures were professional and the whole thing runs very well - the character displayed a lot of emotion through nuanced movements and some less-nuanced facial expressions - although slightly less realistic, the doors should open a little bit sooner than they do in game, and/or the camera should animate to the left slightly to allow you to better see where you're going when moving through doorways, there's a lot of camera-clip when going through them. I think that part of this was intentional but you already have the strong atmosphere so IMO you wouldn't be losing much by fixing/changing this. TL;DR - Good game, scary atmosphere, above average quality for a small dev team indie game, BUY IT.

Allow me to preface this by saying I absolutely LOVE Umfend. One of my favorite indie horror games of all time. If it wasn't for the artwork of Umfend I found in the game, I would never make the connection as this game is a departure from Umfend and in my least favorite ways. It does all the things I don't like about horror games and I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I didn't find anything I really liked in this game. The biggest issue is the horror element. - Taking control away from the player to do a jumpscare really just kills the jumpscare entirely for me. Once I can't control my character or the camera is forced to pan away, I know something's up. The jumpscares telegraph pretty hard and it's really saddening to see so many times. - There's a big disconnect for me when it comes to third person horror games. It feels less immersive. Which is a very subjective opinion, but that's what reviews are right? If it was going to be third person, it would've been nice to have the camera pan back a little bit. The character takes up half of the screen and felt more in the way than anything else. - The design of the character is a bit strange too. Reminds me of a Bratz doll meets Life is Strange? It's not a huge negative, but I'm not a fan. I feel like if you're going to go third person, the character model has to be on point or just go first person and you don't have to render anything. - The gameplay is a bit disappointing as well. I'm all for puzzles and walking sims, but this game just seems to have you literally going from room to room until things happen. No sense of danger or atmosphere of horror. There's scenes were you're just walking from spot light to spot light. No sounds to make you feel like you need to be rushed or anything to keep it moving. Just literally walking from spot to spot. I apologize this review is pretty negative. I'm tough on horror games because it's a challenging genre. I'm really excited for whatever comes next, but this game was a hard pass. I highly, highly recommend Umfend though.
