  So, recently i have been going trough my Early Access purchases to weed out the chaff that clearly has gone awry. And as you can see Craftopia has hit that criterium, for now at least. Here are Craftopia's most pressing problems: There is a lot of stuff in this game. Really a lot. However, everything is... just unfinished and disconnected. This game has building with prefab parts, like different walls, slopes, roof tiles, instead minute blocks. Like for example Valheim, which is fine and works well in other games. However, building and placing these parts is inaccurate at best and a broken at worst. It just feels wrong and anything build is just janky. There is crafting, but it is not really finished in any way. Within literally 1 hour you can go from nothing to silver (basically tier 4) weapons and tools. There is also no real flow to drive you to make better stuff because what you use tools on and for is just no fun. There are the roots of automation, but the whole thing is very illogical, contrived and janky. It is also not worth doing because there is not really anything you are doing this FOR (we come back to this part later again). There are dungeons, but they are plain garbage. Built from the same few assets, flatly lit, ugly and without any atmosphere or flair. And they have nothing going for them that could remotely be called level design. There are vehicles, but the controls are utter garbage. I found a race dungeon with hover boards and speed up pads but it was so bad i'd rather tried to finish it on foot. There is combat, but it is stiff, flailing and floaty. There are rarity and status prefixes for loot and items (like flaming, freezing etc.). But those can be attached to ANY item, weapon or consumable! Which leads to your inventory often filling with the same type of item that need 5 different fields in your inventory because they have different prefixes. This one needs a bit more explaining. Imagine, if you will, you kill a few cows. The cows then drop horns and leather and so on. Every piece of leather and every horn could theoretically have a different prefix, like fiery cows horn and scary cows horn, stuff like that. And any time this is a case these items need their own field in your inventory. Now there is a lot of space in your inventory to begin with. But the issue is that this makes no sense whatsoever, it serves no purpose and just causes a mess that adds NOTHING to the gameplay. That also counts for the prefixes on weapons. Because the differences between them feel minuscule and I am not putting in the time it would need to fill out that massive skill tree so it MAYBE makes a difference way later. A Story isn't there. Just forget it. Translation is classic engrish. Even the most basic things in this game work in janky ways. Raising the FOV for example, doesn't actually raise the FOV, it zooms out the camera. Setting the FOV to 100 moves the camera so far from your character that it is hard to play. Trying to open and use items (and I mentioned building earlier) is janky as hell and collision detection is a mess. Trying to open a chest that has been placed between crafting tables or other chests is a mess causing the player to regularly open or activate something that is nowhere near your Crosshair. Crafting tables, workstations and building elements have INDIVIDUAL PHYSICS. Meaning they could be kicked around and have collision detection and physics. Anyone that remembers early 2000s physics knows what happens next. Sometimes when you load into your world, tables or building elements have fallen trough the world or other building parts. Or you have to search your entire base for the one tiny thing that causes a constant collision sound because it slipped into a another object somehow, somewhere. There are more issues with this unfocused disaster. However, the worst part is that NONE of it feels like it serves a uniting vision. There is no reason for the crafting and the automation and the vehicles and EVERYTHING else! At no point does it feel the the developers have a encompassing vision for these disparate parts nor does it feel like they have the ability and focus to give any of them the necessary base finish or polish. This game ultimately feels cheap and shallow to play. It feels like a waste of time, especially when Steam is full off better alternatives. Don't waste your time. Maybe come back far later. Though considering that the team clearly has bitten off too much AND are starting development on a second game that looks eerily similar in many aspects, I would not count on it. Of course, if this improves one day, and i'll notice it, then I will update this review.

  2 years and then also so many bugs, still the game is in early access....

  its a fun game if you're into crafting survival games. no story but who needs it with this much stuff to farm and do.

  This game has one standout feature: materials have "attributes" that carry over into what you craft with them. Legit cool feature. Everything else is akin to a painfully mediocre MMO that looks like Breath of the Wild. Fun to try but not to invest much time in.

  Breathe Of The Wild meets Minecraft and Runescape with Fortnites building mechanics. Its definitely a game for every kind of gamer! From the cozy gamers to the FPS gamers. GG

  CHALLENGING , simple game up to machines over sized conveyor still not figured out automation but is interesting level up , i like the random stats on equipment crafting , lots of islands to explore battles fun magic spells , inventory little bit to small maybe another 10 squares in ore slot drop in chest an than go gather more any ways i like the game keep up the updates

  Fighting seems to be a complete after thought, the monsters are easy, if you shoot them with an arrow they don't seem to run after you. Returning it immediately.
