Recursos do EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5 - Mission Pack 2: Super Challenge

This is pure hell. Bottomless despair, all just for the EDF elite.

Unseen despair awaits in the second additional mission pack, with ten impossibly difficult missions.

In these expertly-curated and mind-bogglingly difficult missions, you'll face your most powerful foes from the main campaign's hardest missions in greater numbers, as well as aliens equipped with new gear exclusive to this mission pack, not to mention the new enemy weapons. How will the EDF deal with this bottomless despair?!

Over 35 new weapons, including the Sergeant's special one!
Facing their second emergency, the EDF has distributed their most craftily made weapons to their squads all over the world. These weapons, made to enhance the destructive power of the infantry brigades on the field, would make an elite looking to tackle tough missions drool. The weapon that the popular Sergeant character used is also finally available. Fight for humanity. Make the impossible possible. The EDF has the gear."

A fair bit more challenging than DLC 1. Again, you need to play INFERNO to find the new toys. Unless you want to challenge INFERNO, don't get this.

TLDR: If you were willing to pay full price for the base game, Mission Pack 2 is worth it in my opinion. It is not a continuation of the main story, its what it says on the cover, a series of missions designed to be the hardest content available in EDF5. On Hardest and below all missions can be cleared quite easily, but you will not earn the extra weaponry that comes with the pack. You have to beat the missions on Inferno in order to earn the new weapons. In singleplayer this can be accomplished easily if you are used to Inferno difficulty and have ground up a good chunk of armor, but for those that aren't, fear not. There are two easily farmed missions that drop all the max level gear. The final boss for the mission pack is re-used from the base game, but with a fun spin that changes up the fight significantly. The only warning I would give is be careful if you play public multiplayer. The lobbies can be scarce because you need to specifically select the mission pack to play. ///SPOILERS FOR DLC CONTENT AHEAD/// First, the levels, since that is the main reason to buy the pack. All but one take place in open areas, so no tunnel cheesing the enemies. The new Colonists from Mission Pack 1 make a return, along with all their assorted weaponry and armor. Mission Pack 2 features a new heavy Cosmonaut variant sporting a heavy beam cannon, new massive and extremely tanky but slow drone bombers, and a redo of the Mothership fight in an undamaged city, with the cannon phase saved for last and much more support than in the base game from special chaff enemies (gold ants, red hornets, etc). These enemies are still dangerous but not as bad to deal with on their own. They are at their worst when supported by swarms, which they almost always are. Its a very nice switch up from the base game. Overall its 14 levels that present a good challenge and if you really want to push the difficulty to maximum, Online Solo is the way to go, with the most difficult mission in the pack being Mission 12 in my opinion. Speaking of the new weapons, I will go over them each class by class. All of these weapons are level 106+ and will not be usable in base game lobbies with the weapon limit enabled, and can only be earned by beating Mission Pack 2 missions on Inferno. All stats have been balanced for Inferno usage only. Ranger: The special laser rifle "Blazer" from the base game is the most notable here. Insane mid-long range damage with the only downside being the reload speed (7.4 seconds) and no AOE or punch through. Definitely the most important weapon in the pack for ranger and jacks his DPS potential to a whole new level. A new versatile assault rifle that's unfortunately overshadowed by the Blazer, non-explosive shotgun with horizontal spread, a 12k damage Lysander sniper rifle, a new spammable Hornet rocket launcher, an underwhelming but also spammable missile launcher, a new model of Stampede with 54k total damage and 13m blast radius, two new pieces of equipment. The special recovery device acts as a probe giving bonus pickup range, and the mainstay Hybrid Protector XE which you will use almost exclusively on Ranger once you get it. This DLC boosts ranger significantly to the point hes much more survivable on Inferno. If you enjoy Ranger I would mark it as essential. It just does that much to catch him up to the other classes. You still do need to stay alive in order to keep your damage up, however. Wing Diver: Wing diver gets a lot of love in this pack as well. She gets the highest DPS weapon in the game with the Phalanx ZAT, clocking in at over 120k DPS. A new lance based on the Monster Beam rifle. Both of these weapons do absolutely insane burst damage but you still need to get close to use them. New mid-range options including a split beam Spine blaster which is her only good AA option on Inferno, 2 new Electric Bows, one short range but battery fed, and the Thunder Crossbow RZAM which is very good at mid range sniping. A new single bolt Pulse Machine Gun that you will kill yourself with more often than not, but great at crowd clearing if you can find a safe spot. A battery fed Raijin that unfortunately is extremely energy hungry and will force you into Emergency Charge quick even with her new core. Lastly a new special called the Psi Blast Wall, which is only useful in cave missions to block a path. She gets two new energy cores and the design for them is... odd. You have the Return Core G, and the superior Mighty Core. There is no reason to ever use the Return Core G, since it is completely outdone stats-wise by the Mighty Core, and the Mighty Core boosts dash speed, weapon charge speed, and flight speed. However the Mighty Core will not give you unlimited energy, you still need to pay attention to your reserve, since level-scaled weapons will consume more energy than you can recharge, and the flight consumption is scaled accordingly. Wing Diver gets a couple new great toys, but most are novelties not worth using. The Phalanx, Thunder Crossbow, and Mighty Core are the only things you will regularly use. Her nerfs from 4.1 still kneecap her and this pack will not fix that. Air Raider: Air Raider probably fared the worst in this pack. He gets a new Rocket Cannon, Napalm that drops in an X shape and lasts 60 seconds, and an X18 strafing run thats good against drones. No other new air support. He does get good new personal equipment in the Limpet Splendor ZAM, which does insane damage in underground missions due to ricochets, and the ZE blaster, which is a new Laser Turret that lasts quite a while and has good range. Very good for those who like sentry guns. Finally, he gets a small shield wall with extreme durability. Its not very noteworthy and you will not use it often. As for vehicles, he gets the best model of Nix in the game, the Nix Assault, its faster than any other Nix and comes equipped with 90k armor, 2 mid-range machineguns, and 1 explosive dispersal mortar. It suffers from low ammo economy and will usually need at least 3 calls per mission. A very speedy APC good for staying away from enemies in multiplayer and collecting items equipped with a spread shot burst cannon. The rest of the vehicles are overshadowed. There is a new Blacker tank which still suffers from the weaknesses of the base game Blacker, a new Eros helicopter which is the level 79 Eros Vulture but with better stats, and a new Strike Barga with double the durability and more damage than the level 87 War Barga, no new armament like in 4.1, its just better stats. The problem with the Blacker and Eros is everything they do, the Nix Assault does better. The Nix Assault is faster, more durable, more versatile, has more damage potential, and is easier to use. The Barga suffers from being extremely niche. Every level that features a scripted Barga on Inferno will be scaled beyond the Strike Barga, and again, the Nix is usually the better option on levels that don't have scripted Bargas, even against Erginus and Archelus. So the only things in this pack you will regularly use are the ZE Blaster turrets, and the Nix Assault. If you only play Air Raider and aren't interested in the levels, you can probably skip this pack or find someone with the pack to let you try before you buy. Fencer gets a Dash Cell with 10 Dashes and a Booster Cell with 8 Boosts, a big upgrade for mobility if you sacrifice both equipment slots. He gets his most powerful miniguns that do great DPS with B- accuracy. They still suffer from a long reload and only have a 400m range. He also gets an Exoskeleton which slows his walk speed to 25% but lower his equipment weight impact on speed and rotation by 70% and also reduces recoil by 80%, while only using one support slot. All other additions are not worth mentioning and I am almost at the character limit. You will use the equipment fencer gets in DLC2 regularly, but unfortunately it renders the base game weapons obsolete if weapon limit isn't a concern.

The tougherest enemies. The betterest equipment. Been having fun living life as an EDF soldier? Prepare for true pain. (also, this mission pack contains some pretty good grinding missions for weapons/armor, particularly mission 9, assuming it's not too difficult for you) Edit: Wow. The final mission of this (mission 14) is one of the most intense challenges I've ever seen in my life (which makes sense, as it's supposed to be the toughest mission in the entire game, including DLCs).
