  As someone who's used FireAlpaca for about 5-6 years (at the time of writing this), I can wholeheartedly say it is a versatile program that's worth your time; especially if you're a beginner to digital art like I was at the time of downloading it. But remember: FireAlpaca is a program you can download for free. Which is why I implore you to download the free version first to try it out and form your own opinion on it. If you like the program, and perhaps you'd like to show your appreciation for the developers keeping the program free (like the chads they are), I encourage you to support them by buying the SE version. The SE version is more-so a donation than an upgrade. After all, the only features exclusive to it are a darker UI and no advertisements upon startup; that's it.

  I'm a four years user of the free FireAlpaca version, and recently I decide to buy the SE version of this software. if you are an artist that been using fireaplaca for a long time and wish to know the different between the free version and the SE version here a list to know the differences. -the software can run smoother with a bigger file, example it can run soother with an 1000 dpi file -the liquify tool, this will better than the mesh transform -the dark ui is very kind to my eyes and most of it is the same as the free software.

  Being completely honest with my review, this is NOT worth as much as they've been selling it for. It's literally just a dark version with slightly more tools that for the most part you don't need. This is the third time FA:SE has crashed on me and corrupted my art files. The auto saves don't work half the time. You can't have two versions on two different devices because it resets everything and quits the other one you have on. So you can't have one open on your PC and the other open on a tablet. It will quit whichever was on first and half the time doesn't auto save whatever you were making. If steam needs to update (which is ALL the time), it resets everything you had set up (ex. turns correction back to 0, adds back all the unnecessary windows, changes color bar back to color wheel, turns expand for bucket/select back to 0, etc). And you can't avoid this because of the random crashes/random times steam decides to update. Trust me when I say it is NOT worth it to buy this version. You are NOT missing anything with the free version. As a matter of fact, I am considering going back to the free version myself as I can NOT take the risk of losing my work again for my commissioners sake (and my sanity). I'm sorry if this review seems harsh but I am so insanely frustrated with HOW expensive this version of FA is when the free version is almost exactly the same just in white mode (and you can't use liquify but just use the transform mesh, it does the exact same thing.) I really hope these get changed.

  le epic $40 dark mode. In all seriousness I've been using the freeware version for years and it's been a great piece of software. By buying this your $40 goes to support the fine developers of this normally free software, who definitely deserve it. They've mad quality art software accessible to the masses. It's sad to see freeware software slowly fade away due to the ludicrous revenue streams subscription based services offer but it's great to see FireAlpaca as one of the last quality holdouts of that freeware distribution mentality.
