  to everyone saying that after buying chapter two it won't let you play it, I have a solution. the dlc doesn't automatically add onto the game, you have to actually download the dlc after buying it. go to your library, go to poppy playtime, then look for the small DLCs box, press manage my dlcs and check the chapter 2 then downloading will begin. I'm going to add on my actual review after I finish downloading the dlc but here is how to fix your problem! edit: Ok there is an actual problem. I made sure the dlc was downloaded and there is no option to play it for me. I even replayed chapter one thinking that it would automatically start once I finished chapter 1 and it didn't. I can't play either edit 2: They fixed it, you have to launch the game from steam and select to play chapter 2

  bro what the heck dude: 1- In october some people bought the first chapter, now it's free. There should be a refund or a coupon for chapter 2. Unbelievable. 2- Instead of adding chapter 2 to the main game, you make an entirely different steam page for it and ask us for $12. Mob games, give us some respect

  So… Locking story behind NFT’s, making ch1 free after people had paid for it. Doubling the price of ch2 after you guys had said your chapters would not go over the $5 mark. Returning what I can of this game. It was a fun game but I’m not going to support a team which conducts themselves this way. Please act with an actual sense of integrity MOB.

  So first...let's talk about the dlc itself and in a moment, we'll cover why people are aggravated and annoyed with this game/studio/dlc. Chapter 2 of Poppy Playtime is a solid follow up that expands on the things that made the first one work. It's probably not quite as scary, which is unfortunate and had a lot of missed opportunities, but the gameplay, story, and length are all pretty solid improvements. The gameplay has you going through a few different main mini games. They're all pretty tense and have that kid's game with murderous intent vibes. It's really hard not to think Squid Game when you play it. There's also more of those fairly neat stretchy arm circuit puzzle thingies. Very descriptive I know. I really enjoyed those though so that's a win in my book. The story has more lore being built on and you get the sense of the different characters and the Playtime company. I'm sure there's some people who really like deep diving into the lore and there's plenty of that to do I'm sure. However. I'm lazy. So I'm taking it all at face value and enjoying it. The game is considerably longer than the 45minutes of the original. It's about 3 hours long and didn't really feel like it overstayed it's welcome which is a plus. The horror elements weren't quite as great this time around. Sadly, the character featured in the trailer isn't quite as menacing as Huggy Wuggy. Which is odd because her noodle arms and slightly unhinged nature lends itself well to scary, but she's pretty predictable and her movements weren't even as weird as Huggy's were. Why does that matter? It's like when a person is running at you. You know what that looks like. That might not be that scary. When Huggy Wuggy runs at you, his shimmying goofy wiggly nature confuses your brain as you can't quite process what you're looking at and that's just ever so slightly more scary. I thought Stretch Armstrong mommy would've done this better, but really it's just kinda meh. Overall the tension is still there, just not as scary. This game is also buggy (wuggy...sorry I couldn't help myself) So on top of looping audio bugs, lack of audio bugs, there's also the fact that the last part of the puzzle is very much something you can brute force. Which I did. Because again, I can't help myself. I skipped the last third of the game by simply brute forcing the last piece of the puzzle. Which was funny and sad at the same time. I always appreciate a good brute force, but I also appreciate the counters to brute forcing (long animations when it's incorrect, large combination possibilities, etc) so I just don't think whoever was responsible for the puzzle was ready for that. Although who plays games like that honestly? Okay so after doing some digging, I see folks are upset over two primary things. The first game went from being $5 to free. Usually a win for anyone right? Some people paid, sure and they're maybe not happy, but I paid $5 and was happy with it even if it was only 45 minutes. I've done a LOT of indie horror games and the quality was there and I was happy to support a studio that is pushing that kind of quality out. However, the second half is kind of a tie in with the first, MOB Games originally advertised the game's follow up dlc chapters as being $5 a piece. It's now $10. So here's the problem and maybe what would've been potential better solutions, but this comes from someone who has no information to the hidden fees with selling games/dlc nor do I know the financial situation of MOB Games or their intentions. But let's paint the scenario from the perspective of two buyers. Buyer 1: Bought the original $5. Expectation set for future dlc $5. Is now $10. Total paid $15. Buyer 2: Downloaded the original for free. No expectations for future DLC, just sees a $10 dlc. Total paid $10. Now Buyer 1 and 2 are made aware of each other's deals. The monetary difference of $5 may or may not be a lot to you. To me, it's not a big deal. However, if you're buyer 1, you certainly feel undervalued. You supported a game early, but it's the newcomers that get the better treatment. You don't even get acknowledged or explained anything. Sure this happens with games. Lots of times games will release a game of the year edition with everything packaged up for a good price, but that's over multiple dlc/years whatever. So if anything, you are warranted in feeling like you're undervalued. However, if you're Buyer 2, you got a great deal. I think it might've been better to get out in front of it and say "Look, chapter 2 is getting larger and larger and it's becoming a lot more work than anticipated. It's a labor of love, but our team is growing and the workload is becoming large enough that we have to raise the price of the dlc to $10. We really think you'll like what we're working on and the dlc is a lot meatier than the first chapter." Or something rather. Like a studio that's still got heart and soul. Instead of quietly deleting the mention of $5 chapters and not addressing an obviously annoyed fanbase. If you REALLY want to go above and beyond, you can even offer a discount for owners of chapter 1. Even for a limited amount of time. Before discounting chapter 1 to free, make a bundle deal for 1 & 2 for (ideally) $5 or even just anything slightly cheaper to help the early adopters feel appreciated at least a little bit. Would there still be an upset fan base? Sure. But would a lot of people feel less cheated? Absolutely. Trust me. I understand indie devs especially gotta eat. But if you can't see that you don't have some PR work to do prior to all this, oh boy. I just don't know what to tell you. I will say. Chapter 2 is great. Is it worth the $10? It's hard to say. I can 100% say I've probably paid more for way worse. I'm a buyer 1 and overall the games themselves are fun. I'll probably continue to get the future dlcs. Will I enjoy supporting MOB Games? Absolutely not. But if what we see so far is true, they likely won't care. Which is fair.

  I'm Dissapointed Poppy Playtime is an interesting idea. It had mostly fun puzzles with a mysterious plot. Who knows? It could be the next big horror game. Heres what went wrong First off, the price. Chapter 1, which was a 30 minute demo cost 6 bucks. It doesn't sound like a lot but I completed this game in under 30 minutes my first go. It should've been free. Tjhey later DID make it free but still fucked over literally everyone else who bought the game already. But whatever, it wasn't a huge deal (actually it kinda was). This DLC should've been free. After what we paid for to access a concept of a game this should've obviously been free, right? This game cost 12 dollars! And this time it takes aronun an hour or 2 hours if your a completionist. This games price is outrageous and although the game is fun, during the game I can't help but not think "did I really just spend 12 bucks on this?" The second thing is the NFT's that were being sold. You're telling me, I have to spend 15 dollars PER NFT, to uncover lore? That is the most greedy and obnoxious thing EVER! I can't believe a game that already costs 20 bucks, is now asking for more money to discover lore? Games like FNAF, BOTIM, Hell even Hello Neighbor would never make someone PAY money to get "lore." It completely destroys the "puzzle" part of finding lore because you don't need to be paying attention to detail, you just need money. Third thing: MOB games is generally a shady company, I recommenced you watch Daggz video on it but in short, they have done some shitty stuff like for example: copying most of the idea of the game from another creator. But if you really don't care about what's happening behind the scenes, lore, price, or length. Is it a good game? I mean it's fine, the jump scares are awful but there are tense moments and interesting puzzles. Will I buy chapter three? Probably, am i apart of the problem? Yeah probably. I just hope that MOB games can learn and admit to these mistakes. And hopefully fix them. My hopes for Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 is that it will be a full length game, with new mechanics, new monsters and for once, BE FREE! Overall GAME PLAY wise poppy playtime is a 5/10, there are some really fun times in the game (for example the mini games) but i left the game going "holy shit that was mediocre" I hope people understood what was happening behind the scenes more in this review. Also, sorry for the shitty grammar, I just wanted to write this and go to bed. Oh and for MOB games, I will say this as respectfully as possible, Go fuck yourself

  Made the first game free, price gouged the DLC for NFT purposes. Plus the Devs have been related to some quite unethical practices. Would not recommend this at all especially with the people who oversee the development.
