Thanks to the rising popularity of the PhoneDroid—a device which features augmented reality (A.R.)—the age of advanced technology has finally reached Tanegashima. On that island, Central Tanegashima High's Robot Research Club is about to have their club disbanded. Despite their predicament, Kaito Yashio, one of only two members in the Robot Club, couldn't care less and would rather play a robot fighting game all day. His counterpart, the reckless club leader Akiho Senomiya, ignores Kaito’s apathy as she strives to keep the club from being disbanded by completing their giant robot.

One day, Kaito discovers a mysterious A.R. annotation titled "Kimijima Report." It contains instructions involving locations all across the island—and warns of a conspiracy involving the entire world.

Hurts to leave a negative review. Got halfway through this vn (phase 6 out of 12), but I can't take it anymore. I adored Chaos;Head Noah, Steins;Gate is mixed but overall good, and Chaos;Child is my favorite piece of fiction. Came into Robotics;Notes expecting it to like it as much as the other Sci;Adv entries. Sadly, the majority of this game has been boring. I don't mind slice of life, in fact I love it when done well. However, it mostly falls flat here. I can't get into the characters and their motivations. I feel they could be executed well, but Robotics;Notes' writing does not hook me most of the time. Sometimes there will be actually good writing and I'll be wondering what happens next, but then I'll be subjected to another hour of horribly executed slice of life just to get to a little more of the good part. Maybe Robotics;Notes isn't for me. Maybe the game gets better by the end. Maybe I'll finish it and my opinion will change. However, when I'm half way through a game and still hating it, I'm pretty sure that's a sign for me to leave a negative review.

Ahh.. I enjoy all kinds of anime and related material. Including slice of life stuff. There's several bits of subject matter I enjoy in this too but, lord help me I am probably not half way through this and I cannot STAND the two main characters stupidity. The MC even stood there with another character at one point and was told they weren't (name ommited), and he just.... doesn't get it. Doesn't compute. Input denied. He's done one clever thing so far, an it's clearly pure plot armor material to advance the story. I have repeatedly reminded myself that these are supposed to be young children. But it's almost like the author is stabbing you with a sharp wooden board that has, "I'm playing average selfish dumb joe gamer so you can relate to me! Releate to me, now!" Not the genius or prodigy type kids by a long shot, just annoying short sighted children. But between them and Mitchi, the level of ignorance, stupidity, and self centeredness I'm experiencing is just driving me nuts. This is becoming tedious. But god above help me, is it just bad characters, or the messed up attitudes of some japanese social thought/attitude, or bad writing? Well maybe that's redundant to ask, because I think it's a mix of all the above. It's just the perfect combination of rubbing my senses the wrong way a little at a time to keep me on edge and annoyed half the time I'm watching this so far. And, any game element seems like it's just pressing keys with no chance to fail. I've tapped buttons half asleep and probably only scored 50% an still won. Not that when you're difficulty is PRESS TWO BUTTONS is ever gonna be that challenging. If it's just a visual novel, fine, but it seems pointless to toss something like that in there. Just let me watch the screen if there's that little interaction. Apparently tweeps and such influence the ending, but really, the controls feel weird and I've no inclination to bother checking the system and tapping through all the nonsense when it feels like I should just put it on audio an watch it like a pure visual novel. More annoyances. Overall, I think it is well done and at least it's not something that ends after 4 hours, if you don't mind the pointless attempts at adding fake game mechanics and annoying characters just being written in an annoying fashion. I paid money for this, so I'm going to watch it to the end and if it improves I'll change my review. Even if you like this kinda thing, wait for it to go on sale.

It's difficult to talk about Robotics;Notes Elite without doing some kind of comparison between it, Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head especially since they not only make references to it, but also apply concepts that were used in those games. Steins;Gate is still my fav. Honestly the more SciAdv games I play the more I want to replay Steins;Gate. Chaos;Head was also very enjoyable to play. Even though Takumi is a pretty unlikable protagonist I really enjoyed his perception of the world in the game. It fit very well with the games mystery/suspense filled atmosphere. I enjoyed playing through Robotics;Notes Elite as well. Though, personally I didn't enjoy it as much as the other 2 SciAdv games that I'd completed. I'll say that the main reason that I didn't enjoy it as much as the other two is because there's a lot less tension going on and there's a lot more of a slice of life attitude going on in this game. I enjoy a lot of anime and slice of life anime are included in that, but I think since I played the other two games I expected more distressing situations to occur on to the characters. Which isn't to say that doesn't happen it's just a lot more minute than the other games. One aspect that this game excels at possibly more than the other two SciAdv games is it's characters. They all get incredible development and are very appealing as well. The story is also very interesting and I liked the contrast between the setting and the underlying mystery that the main character is uncovering. Also maybe it's because this is the newest SciAdv I've played yet, but the UI looks so smooth and gorgeous. The other games have some cool UI choices as well, but Idk this one feels so sleek and smooth. Can't wait to play more of these games and can't wait to see what happens in the other ones as well as Robotics;Notes DaSH. Duhuhu

It pains me to give a bad review but this novel is just awful. I really really liked the setting, atmosphere and everything about Robotics;Note until I've played this game until chapter 11. Firstly you'll need the Zero patch to make it work but sadly the patch cannot fix a bad story. A visual-novel is about reading, but why would you read something so not engaging? Walls and walls of text where absolutely nothings happens. You are trying to investigate some stupid conspiracy theory that's is so badly written I'm really baffled the main characters would even think it could be real. If this was real life, this thing wouldn't be noticed not even by a fly in the wall. And then, the game hypes the freaking robot building thing since the beginning. Everything goes freaking sideways as you're almost there but SOMEHOW and without any reasonable explanation you're back on track with the Robot Expo plan and NOT EVEN A CUTSCENE, NOTHING, ABSOLUTE NOTHING to be see of this freaking giant robot that somehow made it's way to the Expo. I mean, they give you a 20 second video of the giant robot walking literally scenes before the Expo but when you make it there it's just back to reading meaningless text over and over and over until something which again has no sense happens moving the plot forward. I think sadly the anime is the ultimate way to watch this. It's just not worth your time the amount of reading you'll be doing just so you can have a little more backstory, it's just not worth. You could, for example, read the Hobbit in about 15 hours and be happy you read something with great storytelling instead of this piece of marvelous trash that has no satisfying ending anyway.

I'm glad I played it, seeing the callbacks to steins;gate characters and the MC from Chaos;head was pretty good. The story wasn't very good though, 6 hours of mild entertainment was always followed by 6 hours of boredom, and eventually you hit an abrupt ending. I'm glad it exists but it the story probably could have been told in half the time. also the sequel Dash looks looks like an awful fanfic, so i wont be playing it. Most importantly: Even with the sonomedareno.me patch, the game is still buggy, RB on controller is meant to skip text that is already read but instead, it skips all text and and does not stop until the next scene even if you spam it. I had to reload saves quite a few times because i accidentally skipped small portions of the game.

I liked it much more than Chaos;Head Noah

After a long wait for the release of Chaos;Head Noah, I began to read the entire SciAdv series in release order (Except Steins;Gate, I read it 6 years ago). Now I completed Chaos;Head Noah and Robotics;Notes Elite. And despite all the wild stuff that happens in Chaos;Head, I almost didn't feel sad and depressed (I treasure this feelings most in VNs). Chaos;Head Noah was a bit not about that, and more like madness, bloodshed, psychotic. For me, personally, this is good, but not awesome. I don't even want to write a review for Chaos;Head Noah. Robotics;Notes is another matter. Yes, indeed, there is everyday life and some people wrote that the game is calm. To such people I want to say - What are you talking about? There is tension and mystic, although not to such a crazy intensity as in Chaos Head. There is sadness and drama. I even had goosebumps. Also, people write that it's a slow ride, but I've always been interested in reading. The desire to continue reading was bigger than in Chaos;Head. Plot twists are also presented (Though ending was predictable after end of 11th chapter). I really like the main character. He has never annoyed me, on the contrary, I share his opinions. But Akiho was a little annoying. And of course, it is impossible not to say about the 3D format: It was very unusual, sprites are constantly moving. By the end of the game, I fell in love with this style. Great soundtrack. I often was stuck on main menu to listen to this beautiful melody. I glad that I waited long 2.5 years for english release of Chaos;Head Noah. References and characters of previous games was worth it. Also, Nae-sama, yes, Nae-sama! After Steins;Gate I never expected to like her so much, but there we go. I love her now.

Play it with the fan patch from Committee of Zero. As the third main entry, it is certainly lighter; there are still ties to deeper plots, but it's overall quite isolated. The story is a lot more laid back this time around, but I was surprised with how grounded(oof) some events and the characters are despite the silly premise. This has to be my favourite MC due to how pragmatic he feels; most of the time it felt like he did or said what I'd have done. He's a great foil to the more extravagant characters, especially a certain fujo... There were some interesting twists that broke some cheap and easy mental shortcuts. Hello Sawada and Kou. Now for the technicalities, the biggest mistake the game made was that the scene transitions needed to be smoother. With two or three seconds of delay each time, it could help letting the emotions soak better at the end of a scene but here it gets rinsed in an instant by the new one. It had some pretty great moments but too often abruptly cut short. The branching sucks because the required choice replies have no manual stop to important spots when using skip. It's fairly simple to figure out the unlocks but I don't really think it's a good idea to have a linear story be cut up like that. It was less intense yet still quite enjoyable. I don't like mecha but the MC doesn't either so it was easy to follow along the progression, well done.
