  The game was fun until it at some point early on when it just stops with a sign saying there was no more content. Game is totally abandoned, not worth any amount of money.

  This game had so much promise and I really enjoyed it, but the developers abandoned the game. I understand the situation and life does happen, but until someone comes back to work on it, sadly will have to not recommend this game.

  UPDATE 07/07/20: Sadly development on this game was abandoned and it will now remain in an unfinished state. Obviously I still stand by everyting I wrote in my review, with the exeption of possible future content mentioned. What is here, is still pretty good, but as a "finished game", it just doesn't suffice to justify the price. Maybe buy it on sale, but know what you're getting into. Optimization is better than when I wrote the old review, but still leaves much to be desired. There are now a total of 3 characters with a bunch of unlockable outfits each, these characters don't have any differences in gameplay (as far as I can tell), but each came with a new weapontype, wich do make a difference. Eyery character can use every weapontype though. Lastly, I would like to apologize to anyone, who might have gotten their hopes up because of my review. Again, I stand by it, but I cannot help, but feel bad for hyping this game up, only for it to fall flat like this. I hope the developers can overcome the hardships mentioned in their last update and wish them only the best. Old Review: This game is already a lot of fun. If you like Souls- and Rougelike games, you should definitely give this a try. As already stated, this game is basically an Anime Rougelike Souls. You always start at level 1 in a sort of hub hall, wich, I assume, will allow you to reach unlocked levels direktly, though that seems to not have been implemented yet. After dying you will be reset and must restart on level 1. Without items exept the 3 healing items you spawn with. There is permanent progression with the totem system, these allow you to permanently activate specific skills and buffs, these also unlock different outfits. It has similar level- and enemydesign to the Souls series, so If you are not careful, you will quickly die. Levels are randomly generated, but the placement of enemys per room barely, if at all, changes. You will quickly learn to use this to your advantage and better prepare for each encounter. Achievements will unlock new items, characters, and rooms. So the more you play, the more options open up. So about early access: Currently the game has 2 different environments: A dungon and a library. It has about 7 different enemytypes(I haven't counted) and 2 bosses. 2 different characters with some unique animations and skills. I think there is 5 different outfits, but i haven't unlocked all of them yet, so I will say that there is at least 3. Right now the optimization is still very bad, meaning it doesn't run very well. I will now list my pros and cons: Pros +Challenging without becoming overly frustrating +Great variety in levels due to random generation +Great visual design Cons -combat is just passable (as of yet) -There aren't a lot of different enemytypes yet. Most of the ones that are there, are just guys. -Bad Optimization Considering the nature of an early access release, it is hard to make a fair review, but I have played other games that were less fun and still considered finished products. Thus I'm writing this review for anyone who wantS to know if this game is worth the 16€ now. I think it is. I might write another review, once this game goes out of early access

  After a bit of time with the game's combat system: 1) Souls-like rogue-lite. Stamina, dodges, parries, etc. with perma-death but your progress unlocks new items, abilities, etc. 2) Enemies have 360 degree tracking attacks. So, even if you dodge mid-attack the enemy will still track and spin about mid-attack to try and hit you. This is the combat system's biggest problem and should be fixed as it makes dodging pointless. 3) Some camera issues. Narrow corridors confuse the camera when moving and dodging about, causing it to just show you walls. Needless to say this can be frustrating. Otherwise the game controls are fairly responsive, the graphics are pleasing and the game runs smoothly.

  The Good: Each run feels different and unique. the dungeon has a wide variety of items to use and lots of loot to find. combat is good and can be somewhat challenging at times. Bosses feel like bosses and offer pretty challenging fights. has good sound effects and sound track. The Bad: Upgrade system is a little confusing and I'm still not sure what bonus stats I will get. weapon balance isn't the best. Currently only three bosses (one for each floor, and one in a currently being developed floor) (assuming more floors and bosses will come later). very few variation in enemies. animations feel a little off. The Conclusion: Overall the game is pretty fun to play and being in early access I'm sure more content will come out and only make it better. pretty good game and could see it becoming a cult classic. 7/10

  The good: -Pretty fun Souls-like game, with a creative progression style. -Amazing polish, animations and graphics quality for an indie game. -3 Different characters to play. -Plenty of costumes to unlock. Unlocking them is a great motivator for you to keep trying. -The girls are pretty. This is becoming kind of a taboo on mainstream gaming. Fortunately not here. The bad: -Not a lot of weapon variety (keep in mind the game is still in early access tho) -The girls are visually very different from each other, but apart from that the only difference is their dodge animation.

  I am writing this review after the ceasing of development due to financial difficulties and a family health crisis, I hope your family member survives and things turn out alright. Neverinth has a nice core to it and can be a very fun experience for those looking for a Souls-like. It is unpolished which isn't a great mark against it as it was a small indie project and in early access, it is quite a good showing for the resources available. The combat is absolutely the best aspect of this game, it feels quite tight and responsive which even AAA Souls-likes can end up struggling with. Poor optimization and stability is where the game really struggles, but for me the gameplay is what is most important. It's Rogue-Lite attributes are quite fun, the randomization seems quite seeded so you don't end up with impossible to win scenarios and I've not run into any seed in many hours of play without a path to the next area. It's fun and functional. While development has stopped I'd still recommend it to people. To speak to the tightness of gameplay I have managed to regularly No Hit/Damage the first level and the bosses(Hel is a bit of a different matter to No hit, those skeletons are rude). The different characters don't add too much but also don't really hurt the game, they seem to be there mainly to allow people their preferred dodge type of step dodge, roll dodge, or jump. The jump dodge I never found to be very useful, but at least it is an option for those who might prefer it. Since you can use any weapon type as any character it all works out quite nicely. Do make sure to correct the resolution on launch as it starts in a very tiny resolution(At least it did for me). Overall I recommend giving the game a look, checking to see if this sort of thing is your cup of tea. I've enjoyed playing it and launching it to do a run or two every now and then. If my experience with Souls-likes helps to clarify my views for the record I do No Hit/Damage of most Souls-likes I can get my hands on including Fromsoft titles. So I do know Souls-likes extremely well inside and out.

  DEVELOPMENT HAS CEASED. NOT A FINISHED GAME. It has potential but it doesn't run well, and lacks overall polish. Well wishes to the team but I can't recommend this.
