Like everyone should, I downloaded the official lewd patch from the publisher's website. This game would probably be pretty lame without it. With the patch, it's a decently entertaining H-game where you play as a lecherous and corrupt priest who exercises the "rite of the first night" and sleeps with brides on their wedding day. You also continue to sleep with them while they are married. That, or you can accuse every bachelorette of being a witch and interrogate them in a dungeon. More about the quality of the game: the music kind of sucks but the sound effects and voices are serviceable. The art is quite good. The core gameplay of building up a city and playing tower defense against occasional bandit attacks is not too complicated. It's pretty hard (downright impossible without a guide) to get a good ending on the first playthrough, but at the end, win or lose, you're allowed a "New Game +" and can carry over all your gold to a new playthrough. With New Game + and a guide, you'll have a much easier time of getting a good ending, such as the harem ending. That's what I did. Overall, this game deserves better reviews than it's gotten. It's not amazing but I found it to be pretty enjoyable. I would recommend it on sale to any H-game fan who wants to play as the villain.

I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

Buy it if you wanna support the publisher so they can publish better games from great H devs like Acerola or Clymenia, otherwise this is a pretty bad town management game. Well, to be fair i guess it's more "bare" than bad... At least the H stuff is pretty hwank-able even if it's just as bare as the gameplay is. But It still feels overpriced considering some of the MUCH better game that Kagura Games published is actually cheaper.

Let me just quote myself on how i felt when I first saw this title. "Hwoah~! Finally, a christian game~! I can't wait to share the gospel of the lord to everyone and form a community of god fearing christian citizens with holy templars to judge blasphemers and smite heathens~! What more can I want?!" After playing the game I can tell you that the sentiment I had was accurate only if you changed 'gospel' into 'manjuice' (not sure if c** or se*** is censored so forgive the stupid term), 'blasphemers and heathens' into really pretty women. In the very beginning, my character, which was the common clergy man in the 1600s (fat, ugly and 24/7 horny) was already using having his uncharacteristically humongous scepter polished by his partner nun. My reaction then was like "Well, I don't know, maybe she hasn't eaten anything since the past 2 weeks and the kind priest was just feeding her some natural yogurt". But then I was given the option to punish an innocent village girl who was asking for some guidance by plugging her holes with my scepter, presumably so my character can feel her with his holy water.... At that point I was like "Who am I kidding, there's going to be a lot of 'Deus Vulting in this game". Long story short, this game is shit but if you want to buy it, it's still fair game. What? You want to hear more about this? Well okay then. You play as a priest, as said above. A priest with a hot nun for an assistant who blindly does everything at your bidding. This is a combination of a 'city building simulator' and an 'eroge'. What's an eroge you ask? This is the part of my review where I usually insult you for not knowing but hey, fine I'll explain it. Eroge is basically Ero + game, ero meaning perverted, game meaning... game.... So when you hear something like 'galge' that's just gal + game. So from the original root words i'm sure you already have a picture of what this game will be. When you start this game it's very easy to get lost in confusion. You can build houses and churches, the only two things you can build early game. To build structures you need different requirements for each, the main ones are 'funds' which is represented by the icon of a gold coin. After exhausting your resources or, anytime you feel you've placed enough on your small to-be-village you can end your building phase by clicking the icon at the lower right most portion of the screen. This sends you to the management screen where the magic happens. In the management screen you have a few choices. But before that, let's discuss the 2 important resources apart from 'funds' that you will see there: 'Law and Faith'. Every building you buy, every management choice you make affect those 2 resources. Some affect them in a clear way, like how holding a mass increases your faith, some are random like how forcing an innocent farm girl to eat your disgusting 60 year old milk somehow sometimes increases people's faith... like maybe they're also hungry for some dairy products. These 2 resources are important because they need to reach a certain number for some events to happen. Now that we got that out of the way, let's discuss what you can do in the management screen. You can hold a mass, extort your believers, hire mercenaries, hold marriages, bless the sick and weary, preach outdoors, hire guards, listen to confessions, persecute non-believers, hire inquisitors, and punish witches. The 3 important things in those choices are "hold marriages", "listen to confessions" and "punish witches". What does those do? Let's just say they will give you possibly the only reason you're even browsing this genre. Every few turns you will be attacked by bandits. After a few times of playing this game I thought the 'law and faith' had something to do about these pillaging sessions. I then found out that those two indicators mean dong. The game will send you marauders when it wants. But it doesn't matter since these enemies are easy to deal with. Just hire mercs, guards and inquisitors and you'll find that it's impossible to lose against them. Translations are good. Which is rare. Usually the translations for these kinds of games are dogshit. But for this one, it seems they hired a professional translator to actually do the job, instead of using google translate. Now, let's get to the good part. The h-scenes. 1. Is the art good? Yes. The women who are meant to be umm... converted, are drawn really beautifully. By 'the women' i meant all of them since there's not one single girl your character didn't baptize. 2. Is the voice acting good? Mmhmmm~ this is a game I would recommend you play with a headset, lest risk getting kicked out of your apartment. Usually i talk more about the plot but... you're a fat bloke who wants to bone women using the rosary as the 'carrot on a stick'. What's more to add? Anymore and i'll spoil the very minor twists that personally I didn't even care about. The characters are your standard clueless women. Overall do I recommend this game? Well.... If this game came out like five years ago before the advent of better eroges here on steam, I would've given this a pass and say yes but after some amazing games have set the standard this is a very poor addition. So no, I would not recommend this game. If you really, really have to buy an eroge please just buy something like "Evenicle".

Holy Road to Hell eh? City Management with Visual Novel style and tactical combat, sounds great, hm? Sadly that´s about all which is great at this "game". This has to be one of the most rudimentary games out there.. you do three actions to balance your three resources buy some houses or similiar crap and beat some random bandits in auto battles. That´s it mainly. Guess there´s some uncensored section too, where your priest violates some sinners, but i cannot honestly be bothered to even install it. Can´t save this trashpile of a game (which is also ridicolous expensive for the bland content it offers). Conclusio: Stay away

As others have said it does have issues and is rather bare bones even for hentai. Just isn't that interesting and there's probably better city builders if I feel like buying one. Plan to refund it and use the money on the next game that kagura bring out here.

Ever wanted to be the ugly fat old guy in your NTR doujins? Well do I have the game for you. This game is all about corruption and leading the fat bastard on his merry adventure to conquer all the girls of the village. The town management is just an excuse to trigger the next H scene. In the gameplay section, you have to balance 3 stats, Money, Faith and Law. Each turn you get 3 actions that will increase some while decreasing others. The goal is to min-max those numbers to build the town which will give you more resources in return. Triggering the next girl event requires you to have certain resources or buildings. The whole point of the "gameplay" is to get the next girl. Don't get it if you're not interested in the sex scenes or only interested in the town building because that's not what it's about. Personally I like these H games that don't use the RPG maker engine. As bare as it is, it's original. The gameplay cycle was entertaining enough that I don't mind a little rinse & repeat to get to the next event. If the H content is your cup of tea, then it's worth it. Get this if you like ugly fat bastards like myself. Additional Note: There were a few typos and text errors here and there. I hope Kagura Games is a little more careful of that in future releases.

Sadly I cannot recommend this title, which is painfully unfortunate because the naughty nun thing could have really gone far here. My game experience had the uncensored patch installed. In a nutshell, Holy Road is the story about a corrupt, perverted Bishop who has been sent out to the boonies to a small village to spread the faith as punishment. The Bishop acts as the governing body for the village which explains the rest of the game concept of the Bishop being above the law. Gameplay is linear and grindy You have 50 days to rebuild your powerbase ...or else....basically. Main gameplay is focused on a very simplified City-Sim model of constructing building 'A' for resource 'X' which allows you to construct building 'B' which gives you resource 'Y' and so on. After the building phase, you get to take 3 church actions. This is where NPC interaction can occur. Some actions, under the right conditions, will trigger the introduction of a female character which then becomes the target of the Bishops obsession. You see where this is starting to go. After the introduction of a character, certain church actions, under the correct conditions, will trigger an H-Scene. Artwork if fine but is...well.... uninspired? Often single frame picture with a wall of text doesn't offer much in the way of that sort of content. Every scene does have its own unique story and art, which is determined by the Church action taken that triggered it. Example being, you could condemn a character as a witch for one scene or frame her for heresy for a different one. Not always that simple, but you get the idea. The Bishop basically wants to sleep with every poor woman who confesses something to him through extortion and blackmail. Beyond that though, that's it.... that's the game. Build, take church actions, maybe watch some automatic, choppy 16 bit bandit battle and repeat until you hit turn 50.... then you most likely.. start over with the "+" game that lets you start with your money from last game. I certainly agree with other reviewers that the title is painfully overpriced for what it offers. Yukino cost about half as much and I still play it? Besides cost, the game is painfully shallow. I mean, it's an H-Game... you can't expect that much, but come on...so is Slave Sword. Overall, Holy Road a poor choice of a game for Kagura to bring over. Remember, Kagura publishes, not develop. The games Kagura previously published to Steam have steadily raised the bar as to what an H-Game "can" be. Holy Road is a joke compared to the rest of the Kagura library and the price is an insult to fans. I actually feel a little taken advantage of. Just avoid this one folks. I'm all for standing by Kagura, but don't blindly buy just because their name is on it. This is one that I defiantly regret.

I'm such a fool to play this game for more than 2h, now i can't refund the game at all. Pros - Beautiful, uncensored art, we need more game with naughty nuns. - Few to no bugs Cons - Anything else - Gameplay is unbalance, confused action phase, annoying placement in building phase, and battle phase is the most frustrating thing i've ever experienced, it contributes nothing to the gameplay and story, maybe it the reason you have to keep your law stat high so you don't have to deal with this god awful phase - Mediorce ost - No clear idea how to get specific ending - No save during choices, dialog and building phase because fucc you - 20$ is overpriced for this hollow game, might as well make it a visual novel so i don't have to play the game Should have buy kunoichi botan instead. 3/10
