About the Game

A zombie outbreak wiped out civilization as we know it. Hordes of zeeks gnawed their way to the top becoming the world’s apex predator. A few years later, regular humans are an endangered species, with isolated pockets struggling to survive in this new, unwelcoming world.

Welcome to HumanitZ, a top-down, open-world survival game, where you can try to make a difference and put humanity back where it belongs, at the top of the food chain.

Will you gamble on cities and the loot there knowing hordes of zeeks might be around the corner? Or do you try to survive off the land in the country, through hunting, fishing, and farming?

  • Explore a vast, unforgiving world! From dense urban areas to untamed wilderness littered with drivable vehicles, paired with a dynamic weather system.

  • Live off the land! Pick through the ruins of the old world and scavenge resources to survive. Or take to the hills, set up a farm, hunt game, and catch fish to get through the day the safe way.

  • Survive together! Grab a rifle and start foraging on your own, or in cooperative mode for up to four players!

  • Customize robust character development! Design your chosen survivor with perks, stats, and a huge selection of firearms with other tools.

  • Craft and build for survival! Utilize an extensive crafting and building system for whatever is needed to survive, from gear to consumables. Then, build a safe house, a fortified base safe against the zeeks, or turn a burned-out house into a new place to live.

  • Defend against truly menacing zombies! Not all zeeks are slow or stupid. Adapt and improvise against numerous zeek variants, or become zombie fodder. Permanently, if you feel you’re brave enough to enable Permadeath Mode.

  • Defy death! The apocalypse claims everyone, eventually. If not through a zombie’s maw, then through hunger, exposure, treacherous terrain, or other people.

I know, I don't have much time in this game yet, but I've played the demo (it was available before EA) several hours, watched the lead tester playing and now I am in the game itself and I am not gonna lie: I love it ! Honestly, somehow it feels like steeling this game for this price. The developers and the publisher (check out the discord, the community is amazing!) are absolutely amazing. The game feels awesome (and yes, you have to get a bit into the movement, but you get really quickly a hang of it). The graphics and sounds are amazing. I love to hear the gun and melee weapon sounds, hitting the Z's.... The whole environment looks awesome and yeah, everything feels right. Maybe you ask: Is this like Project Zomboid ? I have to say no.... PZ is more like a simulator and has it's special place in the community, but HumanitZ feels more like a isometric DayZ with a lot of action and fun gameplay. You love to explore, build and craft ? THIS GAME IS FOR YOU !!! Honestly, I would highly recommend it to my friends and yes, to my best friend too ! I can't remember the last time I was so excited for a game. It's so much fun and I am glad that I've bought this game. So, if you love games and want to support a good one and a great developer - please, go for it ! Found my personal survival GOTY ! I love it ! ===== Edit: ====== I am having a blast ! Honestly, get this game !

Edit I Still Recommend however there are some things that need work, Ok so played it for a while now some things still need work but overall it is a great starting point. The UI is pretty small and I hope they add a scaling option. The inventory system is rough to work with but it is manageable for the most part I hope they add dragging items around in the future. The map is relatively small and a lot of POI's are very similar if not the same I would like to see more variety and also more loot variety as most houses have the same possible drops for residential. Adding second floors to the buildings is something I also hope they add as it gives more depth and more room for variety. The gun play feels good however the Melee system is a bit clunky and would like to see some refinement there. I would like to see options for weapon attachments and customization, possibly some stat differentials based on the quality of the weapon found both melee and ranged because at the moment if you find an AK its the same as every other AK only durability is different. The clothing and armor system could use work as its mostly cosmetic atm except for some provide cold resist or are cooler for hotter weather. Adding pockets to clothing for more storage depending on what it is would be nice. The vehicles feel very floaty at times and as fun as that can be I feel it should be tightened up a bit. I hope the Developers take to heart the reviews and comments about things people would like to see in this game as the foundation is there its just ironing out the details to give people a great game in the end. Glad to see the positive reviews at launch and hope this game continues to grow overtime. First Review - So far I like it I would recommended this. Reminds me of dead frontier and project Zomboid. Have not tried multiplayer yet but will this afternoon. things are a little rough around the edges and have had a few lag spikes, despite that having fun running around looting and learning how things work. I hope the devs keep up on this game because it could be outstanding with the right care. Will update review at a later time after I have had more time behind the drivers seat.

This game has set the framework for being potentially one of the best zombie survival games out there. All it needs to shine right now would be Mod and Dedicated server support. Tip 1: If you have a mouse with a lot of side buttons, Bind middle mouse click to a side button and turn on middle mouse click for camera in the settings. For me, feels much more natural Tip 2: Vsync doesnt seem to work atm. Enable it in nvidia control panel instead. (or amd equivalent) Tip 3: If you've played the demo, you might notice a camera zoom bug along with other things. To fix this just delete the TSSgame folder located here C: \ Users \ YourUser \ AppData \ Local WARNING: this will delete all your settings in-game and possibly your save file?

Welp lets allow my review to get in here early before it gets lost among all the other thumbs ups. Now don't get me wrong, this game isn't perfect, but it's in early access. It has all the issues you'd expect and early access game to have. But when it comes down to the major core concepts and the overal gameplay and potential of the game, it's worth it. -The asking price is appropriate. -The gameplay is fun, intuitive, interesting and realistic -The sound effects are great to listen to -The length, replayability and co-op availability is very nice Overall, the game's not perfect, it has some stability issues and some U.I. issues but overall it's a pretty good game and a pretty safe investment. If you'd like some more in depth information with some gameplay footage then please check out the review on my YouTube Channel (link below). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNGNUVoTdiA Otherwise thanks so much for reading and I hope I manage to help some of you out there spend your money wisely.

I've played a good amount of Project Zomboid and Dayz. So alot of my thoughts my stem from what I expect from those games. First Impressions is it's definitely an early access title. There are ton of things I would like to see listed below. That said it has a ton of potential. Things I would like to see added/changed. 1. Really would like to be able to tab loot and area. Kinda like how Dayz does it. Picking up items one by one can be tedious. With that said I would also like to be able to drag things to the ground or throughout my inventory. Again how Dayz does it. 2. The world map is too plain for my liking. So I would like to see more detail, maybe almost like a paper map option or satellite type of map. Also maybe just disable the map in terms of just pressing M. Instead you would have to find a map in game then you would have the option to pull it up. 3. I would also like to be able to zoom out more while in buildings. 4. Small minor thing but when cutting down trees for example. I want to be able to hold down the mouse button instead of having to click over and over again. 5. While in cars I noticed that you can't turn the camera independently from the directional controls of driving the car. So I would like to see the ability to turn the camera independently. I think it would make for a smoother driving experience. Potential Bug: I cannot pick backpacks when they are on beds. Overall would not recommend you buy it now unless your okay with being onboard with a very early access game, but again it has a ton of potential. So that's why I'll give a thumbs up for now.

Hey, just a quick review after ~70 minutes of gameplay (plus 20 in pause menu). I feel a well known vibe while playing, although I cannot say too much about the content as I didn't reach too far into the game. While enjoying it gameplay wise I also found some annoyances, mainly the UI and 'steering' scheme. UI is fine for the most part but I would like more to have a health bar above or below the durability bar. It's what I'm used to and it works, just my personal preference. Controls are a bit of a mess - on keyboard/mouse at least - I would rather have W to go forward and the cursor to indicate direction, with the camera following the player on/off and left-right direction turns bound to the camera movement also as on or off option. A note here - I have not checked the settings or controls. HumanitZ looks very promising so far and I need to check the rest of the game to share a full picture of my experience.

I'm only a few hours in on this game and I'm hooked. The survival element is brutal on default settings (I'm not very experienced with the genre), I've died loads but not due to unfair situations. You can't just go running off into buildings and expect to live, you have to plan each journey out. The survival mechanics are complex and deep, so if you want a brutal world to master you have it. You can of course adjust various scenario parameters if you "can't even!". The seasonal weather conditions are an excellent touch, if you don't dress properly or take shelter during winter you are done for. Graphically it is decent, the colours could do with more contrast in places. I've been surprised a few times by zombies walking up to me in broad daylight all because I couldn't see them against the similarly coloured backdrop. The map is vast and full of cool environments to explore, it does feel a little lifeless at the moment. You encounter traders every now and then but they don't say anything and you don't get any info/quests/updates from the ones I've met. Again, this is EA and the devs have said on multiple occasions that they are building this out as they go. The combat is great already, you can very easily waste all your ammo if you just click-and-pray at the zombies. If you steady your aim you can get head-shots, or knock them off their feet and finish it with a head stomp. You have a variety of take-downs but they consume stamina so you DO NOT want to do that in the middle of a horde. You have to plan out your moves, you have to acknowledge when you're not up to the job and bail, resources are scarce and zombies are plentiful. I'm a novice to this genre so I have perma-death turned off, but even so, I still get a sense of dread entering a new area. One minute I'm single-shot-head-popping zombies and mumbling John Wayne quotes to myself, the next minute I'm smashing keys and fumbling with the mouse trying to escape a horde that swarmed me. I can see this game being a long running and constantly changing platform for all kinds of adventure. It would be excellent if further down the line we got modding tools so that the community could start adding stories, lore, and adventures into the mix. Over the last year or so of watching the dev vlogs I got the impression (rightly or wrongly) that this game is a Neverwinter Nights style affair. Whereby the base game is the platform, it sets the scene and provides the mechanics, then the community takes this and adds their own adventures. Again, I may be wildly off the mark here, but this is what it feels like, this is what it could be, and that would be excellent. After all, aren't survival games all about creating your own story and surviving the harsh world anyway, In summary, this is a great isometric action survival game, I haven't played any co-op but I have seen streamers doing so and it looks fun. I see a lot of people comparing this to zomboid, I don't think they are the same. zomboid is an excellent game with so much depth it is mind boggling. With that said, zomboid is the story of how you died, you try and survive as long as possible but ultimately you will die. If you head out and don't strategise properly and get swarmed you're dead, skill won't save you here, it is all luck. HumanitZ is a survival game where you aren't meant to die, but instead you're meant to see how much you can explore, how much of the world you can conquer. At least this is what it feels like to me, it isn't a death simulator but a survival simulator. If you get swarmed by zombies you can escape them using skill and tactics. You run faster than a snail and won't get trench foot as soon as you step in a puddle. (again, I love zomboid) The two are different, the two have very different purposes, and both of them excel in their own specific domain. It is not a question of which one, both are required if you like this type of game. I will stop waffling now, buy game, game good.
