  Updated opinion from edit is at the bottom. Great Concept, I have played 11 hours in and I still want to play. However, the game just crashes now and it's because of a bugged out Hunter. He doesn't hunt unless you interact and close the menu, if you make him quit the game crashes. I lost 10 minutes of progress which turned out to be a lot of stuff being done in that time span. It's fustrating to have an incompetent NPC that carries a heavy liability to cause crashes. I sent a couple of the crashes not sure if the Dev received them. With this problem I am held back from progression in the game. It won't matter if I do another save because the bug can just happen again. Furthermore, a mount to travel on the roads faster is demanded. Maybe it can be earned by taming either a Black Bear or a Alpha Wolf Boss. Where you can mount and travel outside the plot faster. They don't have to fight or be attacked. Or they can be a companion that follows you and attacks what you attack or hits you; only allows to be mounted outside the plot. A way to deposit your personal coins into a town would be great too. And/Or a Trade Building where peasants can be a mearchant and send resources to trade for another resource or just coin to improve economy. The NPC has to walk there with the resource so it will take time for them to reach there and walk back. And you can have up to 4 of these and they can carry mele armour and shield to defend themselves. And the building can only be built once. Edit: Far more hours in and I really enjoy the game, I will switch my recommendation to a Yes now. After I wrote this review and submitted it I went in the game and tried to delete the Hunter building which forces everyone off the job. This did not cause the crash and allowed me to continue the game. However, it has made me anxious to make NPC's quit their role so I save the game a lot more often than I like to. I see that this game is a cool game that you can be AFK in while the world continues to run if you have built up the Village right. This is my type of game! I just need a couple of things I suggested and to allow automation for rocks to turn into stone and more buildings to upgrade to tiers higher than level 2 as well. With a second map of a different terrain maybe where I can use bigger plots. I acknowledged the regular map is still being constructed which I look forward too a lot. Because it is my type of game, I will play even if I reach all plots. I haven't got them all yet. I do have concern for wall building as certain plots I try but can't completely wall off the village unless I sacrifice sources of resource. Which it comes down to when i'm building on the plot, it's always thinking where it is best to place the building and how many houses, to leave out the farm and bakery or another building. Edit 2.0: I just found out about 1.3 so all my suggestions are already going to be implemented. I look forward to the new update. I also brought it at a price I am satisfied with, the original price held me back from getting the game. The sounds work well to me and the game having no character customisation is great. I hate being forced to do a sims 4 customisation type beginning, it ruins my attention span please do not add a character customisation just make it just the one appearance of the Protagonist "Alek". One of the best things about this game is it's simplicity to go through the game, I rather it that way. The only complexity should be the planning, problem solving and adapting. I will let the building an elevated hill/mountain side makes your building be placed in the air slide. It doesn't affect my game play and I only have one house that is above the ground. I also like the view in the distance and the terrain work with the paths and the map. The water is a really nice colour that gives a good contrast to the lush green nature. Besides my issue on the building element, I am satisfied with it.

  Since alek is still in early access, and it is not finished yet this review is incomplete. how ever with that said so far alek is not bad. controls are pretty simple. and the micromanage aspect is not encumbering. graphics are right where they should be for this type of game. I would recommend this game( once it is finally released.

  This is a great game. You can build prebuilt buildings that allow villagers to gather resources. Fight monsters and build several villages. I didn't feel like i was playing a single developer game while playing this. Though I feel this game needs more content, like trade caravans or something. It is an early access game with TONS of potential. I am excited to see what this game developer comes out with next.

  I remember when I first bought this game I saw that this game had potential that was even before the updates they had done. All I can say now is wow what fun i am having playing, and I don't give to many reviews on games... I am glad to see the love the developers are putting into this game keep it up you all are doing great!

  Very enjoyable game for what little is there atm. Still in VERY early access, keep that in mind should you purchase it

  at this time i cant recommend 3 times now i have played for an hour or so i save the game and quit and it asks if i want to save so i say yes and each time i come back to play a little more it did not save the game. kinda hard to enjoy something when you loose the progress you made the last time you played

  I had fun, until the goblins attacked, nothing i could do but die and watch everything getting destroyed. If this game ever get multiplayer i can see that being allot of fun but not solo, it did not help that all the villagers did nothing to help me tho even if they did i dont see how to surive something like that. Will just have to try again some other time. Update. Played a couple more hours, this time i got my defense up first, survived the attack and lost a couple soldiers but my archers did fine. I think a heads up warning that you get attacked every five days at night time would be nice. I built up my village, got a strong defense now and good gear, and i noticed that the ai player is expanding by making more villages. Next time i think i will try to go to war with the ai player and see how that works, so far i am having allot of fun and look forward to future updates, i think this game can be something really great one day. Either way i would recommend this game right now, when multiplayer comes it will be even better.

  I really wish I hadn't invested my time learning what looked like a nice little survival/city-building game, only to have it completely ruined by WHATEVER THAT GOBLIN CRAP WAS. Why on earth would you ruin your really cute game with that horrible goblin shit? Games like this make me sad. Why, why why did you ruin your game with that goblin crap? After what they did the first night they showed up (in addition to immediately killing me, they destroyed half my town), I've already uninstalled this game. NERF THE GOBLINS.
