Alfiyah Ibnu Malik Introduction

Alfiyah (ألفية ابن الك) or in full is Al-Khulasa al-Alfiyya is a book of poetry (rhythm) on Arabic grammar from the 13th century. This book was written by an Arabic linguist born in Jaén, Spain named Ibn Malik (d. 672 H / 22 February 1274 AD). Together with the Al-Ajurrumiyah book, the Alfiyah book is one of the basic books to be memorized for pesantren students besides the Qur'an.

This book has at least 43 explanatory books (sharah) and was one of the two basic books of Arabic education for beginners in Arab society until the 20th century.
