The new DLC adds several new features to Big Pharma. Probably the most obvious are the business features; the ability to tweak price to increase demand and the ability to add business executives to increase sales. There are also some risk versus reward items like doing product trials; if you don't like the results of the trials you can suppress the results you don't like, at the risk of being caught out and hurting your brand. There's also advertising which you can research and use to make more sales. The one big feature that effects the puzzle part of the game (scouting for ingredients and building the product lines) is the booster effect of some ingredients. Having a booster component (like Fast Acting) in a drug adds 30% value and is available at any concentration. The trade-off is that it will cost to mix in the booster drug and so you have to balance the potential profit with how much it will add to production cost. The new DLC makes Big Pharma even a better game, fleshing out the business portion and adding even more depth to the production side. It's in good shape, just a couple of minor glitches which should be patched out soon. Highly recommended.

Tired of your production lines not quite fitting into those tight spaces? Want to be able to control how much a drug sells for? If you answered yes to both then this will be the DLC for you. Marketing & Malpractice adds a few nice features and some new content to the base game. The marketing aspects have not just had new additions, it's also been revamped. This DLC allows you to control directly if you want to undercut the competition by offering discounts on products, or charging a premium for a drug that's in high demand. You can also adjust the amount of stock to keep in your warehouse, useful for those drugs that you are making more of then you are selling. No longer are your sales solely affected by cure rating. You will recieve executives at certain research points that will allow you to increase (or at least attempt to) sales. Executives have quite a few means to do this, including but not limited to sales reps, bribing doctors with gifts, cross-platform, social media, disease awareness campaigns and (probably my most favourite) clinical trials. Some give a straight boost, others like clinical trials can lead to bad publicity if your product is below par and if you start doing some dodgy stuff (like disqualifying bad results) can also lead to it being banned. Good Stuff. Ingredients also have the possibility of spawning with "Booster" effects. When you meet the conditions these have, they will give you huge increases in sales. There are also perks, you can select up to 2 before you start a game. Some perks provide utility (like the "Mixology" perk which gives the Multi-Mixer and Centrifuge a process time of 1 instead of 2, reducing costs and space requirements) while others can really shape up how you are going to approach making your drugs before you have even built your first machine (like "Trust Me I'm A Doctor" which gives a flat 10% sales bonus for drugs that have no side effects). Lastly, there are a few new machines to play with. There is the socket to socket transfer which is as useful as it sounds. A Booster Mixer which is similar to a multi-mixer but only mixes the booster effects with effecient processing costs, time and takes up little space. There are also stock gates, I haven't been able to use these effectively yet but allow production lines to be able to set up multiple drugs if the demand for one drug is under what you can produce. If there is one thing I was slightly disappointed with, it was the fact there are no new missions (other then the new marketing tutorial one), could've made a new mission tree which revovled around making boostered cures or something similar. Even so, at this price point it is a much welcome addition to part of the game that needed fleshing out the most. GJ Tim!!!

it's a new and interesting part of the game, and it brings light on one of the most disgusting parts of the pharmiceudical industry! what more could you want!?

I don't like the add-on too much, the way sales are handled becomes a nightmare once you have 5 cures and more to manage. The other additions are fun (booster effects, perks, sales reps) but the way one has to handle the prices is just anti-fun the way it is now. You might end up with way too much stock and adjusting prices is long and tedious (and changing because of competitors), i like what the base game had to offer in terms of management. I just don't find the add-on to be much fun because of the way sales are implemented right now.

An excellent DLC that really adds mechanics to the game that were greatly needed. This DLC will take the game from a pharmacutical puzzle game to a real biz sim. Well done!

The mixologist and local network perk (-50% ingredient prices) are way too over powered makes the game a breeze.

It made the game worse. Like it went from super amazing to I'm not sure if I want to play any of this at all anymore. How it got there was like this. I saw someone playting this game thought it looked cool picked it up and was not dissapointed at all. After many missions I realised there was a dlc got that and heres waht happened. The dlc as it turns out is a doubble edged sword. It add good cool content but at the same time adding gameplay deal breakers. Not only do theese deal breakers ruin the dlc but they ruin the base game too because I know there is good stuff in the dlc that i want to enjoy but cant because of the deal breakers in the dlc. Stay ignortant, it better to not know waht your missing don't get this. One such deal deal breaker for me was how the dlc handles selling your stuff. You dont see your revenue popup when your stuff leaves the factory. Many other people have been unsatisfied about the level of seemingly required micromanagement that was introduced. When you look at your factory floor all you see is everything loosing money now, where as before you coud see it making money at the same time. Who woud ever just want to see all the negatives without seeing any of the positives? Anyways, biggest fail dlc ive ever seen.

Not really worth it. The major selling point of this game is being able to undercut and outprice your competition out of the market. This sounds fantastic, and if it was actually implemented it would be great. I'm running into situations where I'm selling a drug with a higher quality rating, first to market and a 30% lower price than my competitors and I'm barely able to capture 70% of the market. For curiousity's sake I tried to give the drug away for free, and again I swung between 70-90% of the market, for a free drug. A drug who's next competitor cost $300. That's pretty much when I decided this expansion wasn't really worth the $7 they're charging.
