This game has the most amazing visuals and sounds I have ever encountered in a game! It is an experience! The puzzles can be challenging but extremely rewarding. I love this game and I hope Amanita will do some follow up games.

What a beautiful experience the one I had while playing Botanicula! The graphics are so cute and unique. The music is amazing!!! I almost cried when I finished it. What did I learn from it? the Light always wins :) no matter the difficult moments, we just need to keep going until we conquer and help every one to defend our tree LOL. I love it and I would definitely play it again :) <3 10/10

An Utterly gorgeous walk through another world that leaves (get it?) excited to explore while still being tricky enough to give any puzzle lover a good head scratch

From the creators of Samorost and Machinarium comes Botanicula which is point and click game similar to the rest of Amanita Design's other games. The art-style, music consisting of non language vocal percussion, vocal sound effects, nature theme, interactive environment makes it signature of Amanita's game design. The lack of words except for menu interface consisting of only pictograms and "visual speech bubbles" allows for language barriers to be broken and understandable to everyone especially younger children due to the art-style and music. Some of the puzzles are frustrating to solve if you cannot wrap your head around it so don't be afraid to look up a guide if stuck. The only replay value Botanicula provides would be creature cards to collect and achievements to collect. Buy Botanicula during sales along with other Amanita Design's games because those are some of the most soulful and unique games of the point-and-click genre on Steam.

While I see a lot of people enjoy this game and posting good reviews, I can't personally recommend it. I've played other games by Amanita, and really like them. This one, however, was a chore and an annoyance to get through! This game is all out space logic! Not that all of Amanita Design's games are the most intuitive(yet even Samorost and Machinarium are better, despite being older), but they have certainly gotten better at it after this game! Sure, you can gleam some logic here and there, but for the most part this feels like an "ADHD game", where the game design seems to be "how can we cram the most amount of randomness illogically into a couple of mouse clicks?" There are some neat puzzles, like the water drop and spoons puzzle. But then there are other times where you use gameplay features that have not been established, and is only used once, like one where you have to not only click, but click *and hold down* the button to "charge up" a creature and make a big bubble. (Holding down the button like this having never been a thing before, and never really being a thing afterwards.) And clicking it normally makes tiny bubbles, so it looks like that's the function. Meanwhile, there's nothing to indicate you even need a bubble in the first place. This is absolutely terrible game design, and the game is filled with similar examples. It also contains pixel hunting of the kind I thought we'd got rid of in the 90s, and not just for the optional stuff, but even some The game is very similar to Chuchel in art style and silliness, but Chuchel has good game design: Chuchel always cleverly teaches you the mechanics of the gameplay, almost without you noticing. Which makes sense, as Chuchel was made six years later than Botanicula, so the team has learned a lot since this game. Botanicula was also an assault on my hearing. This is probably more a preference thing than anything else, and it's not that the sound design or audio in general is bad, it's just way too much at so many points in the game. Now, I do actually have hypersensitivity to hearing, which probably adds to why this bothers me so, but I can't remember any other game ever that has had such an annoying audio design. I could write more criticism on the story and characters, which are fine, but there are certainly some flaws there as well. But I don't feel like getting more deep with this review. I'll just mention a couple of other annoyances: A lot of hotspots you need to interact with are so close to the top or bottom of the screen that you very often activate the UI, which then has to close for you to actually interact with the actual game again and click the hotspot you wanted. And the in game map is a joke, and is so useless that it's easier to memorize the level layout than decipher how the map works with the level. All in all, I suggest getting just about any other Amanita game than this one. 100% in about 6 infuriating hours. (Do yourself a favor and use a guide. Also, save every level, as there's no chapter select!)

I played Botanicula on Android 10 years ago, and it's still an excellent game that has become a timeless classic! Amanita Design creates some of the best quests in the industry.

"Botanicula" is a surreal Point-and-Click/Puzzle game in which you have to "help" those creatures to save their Hometree The Gamemechanics were simple and easy to understand, simply click where the mouse reacts and somethings happens. I liked that artstyle and the soundtrack (aswell as the sounds). It took me 3.6 hours to finish the game the first time but i only had 45 achievments. it tookme a second round to get 100% but you could get it in one try. I goit the game for 2,24€ on Sale. It was worth it tho, try it out!
