Seemed like a good idea at first, turned out to be a terrible experience. Camera constantly locks to 1 player when playing online (would be understandable co-op, but unforgivable for online). So quite often players end up not being able to see themselves, and sometimes camera goes completely bonkers and focuses on the dead person instead of someone alive. Private game turns into public after resuming, so you have to deal with constantly kicking bots. Ping desyncs usually end up in dead players for 0 reason. You unlock a bunch of characters as you go through the game, but you're locked in with the first character you select for the rest of the campaign, so you can't swap or try out the new one without restarting the game. It seems like in almost every aspect of the game design that you could fail in - this game fails. Spell design is decent though, and you can still have some laughs with a good company so there's that. But there are better games to play together, so this one is a hard pass. Devs not fixing known bugs (like private games turning public) for 3 years doesn't help any either. They obivously don't care enough, so why should you? Don't waste the money.

If you enjoy Magicka and have a young child, this is the perfect game: charming, gorgeous textures, lots of content, easy to pick up and drop off. I was looking for something a little tougher (it's still very easy even on Hardcore) so it's not for me, but it might be for you!

TLDR; Found multi player bug and Devs are unable to fix it. Was having an amazing time playing in Co-op with my friend. We had to stop playing saved the game started back up the next day found that our game was some how switched to public game where anyone could join and people started to join. We really wanted to play the game just the two of us and found that we had no way of switching a once private game now public back to private. Did search on the and found the Devs are aware of this issue since 2018 and are unable to fix the issue since those who developed the code no longer work for the company.

Really good game from Frozenbyte where you play as a Wizard (with other 3 friends Coop if you want). It's a mix of Dungeon Crawler, through a world that doesn't change, and an action rpg. Good Things - The maps and the world's artstyle is very beautiful - The gameplay is fun and the difficulty is there - Around 40 types of spells and 8 characters to choose from (plus 4 varieties for each character), including Amadeus from the Trine games. - 3 branches of habilities for each character + good customization - Great music Bad Things - Once you complete the game 3 or 4 times, you kinda feel more maps and areas are needed - The variety of enemies is okay for the first 2 runs, but then it's a little bit repetitive. Conclusion: a 9 out of 10 for a hidden gem that is very enjoyable in Coop with a friend. Really hope the Devs make a sequel

This is one of the best cooperative games I have ever played (and I have played a significant amount!) The twin stick magic blast 'em up gameplay is well balanced, with the element feature requiring workaround and teamwork as well as supporting a fantastic class/character system with wonderful skill trees. Each character has multiple variants as well as many playstyles provided by their skill tree. Some characters are definitely better than others, but all have fun abilities to use and the balance isn't too wildly off. The story is definitely background to the gameplay, but some of the voicelines consistently get laughs out of me and whomever I am playing with. I wish there were more games like this. 10/10 would accidentally do more friendly fire damage than actual damage again. Oops.

Fun game with friends with tons of opportunities to use the different spells and positionings to help out each other and get past the trickier fights. Gameplay is nice and controls are tight with keyboard and mouse. Graphics and sound-design are great (as expected by the creators of Trine.) (EDIT: I was previously complaining about a few bugs/weird design choices. Those are mostly fixed by now, so I gotta give the developers credit for listening to the community and reacting within days) Overall it's a fun experience and I don't know what's up with the barrage of negative chinese reviews, but this game deserves more love, because you can really tell the developers put a lot of love into the game while making it and the campaign has a decently sized length and good replay value.

A dumbed down version of Magicka 2: Fixed spells with cooldowns and no charge-up mechanics. No shields, mines or melee effects like in Magicka 2. Visually pleasing environments but no meaningful interaction with them. Minimal enemy variety, constant small encounters with the same opponents with changing elemental resistances. Noteable padding. No branching paths in levels. No exploration. Sadly only a minimal and unengaging narrative, despite nice character designs. Not recommended.

Super short FAQ: 1. Game is awesome.... yet mixed reviews? Most negative reviews are due to following bugs: - game crashing - progress not saving - private games being public ... or due to following stupid choices by devs: - ONE save for both single and multi player - no level number only title - the first thing in tutorial is about how to reset skills... which is not needed after late in game after which You forget how... -some things You have to google to recall/know. However, those things WILL be fixed in the next few days. 2. What did devs do good? After first 10 hours You START to scratch the surface of DEPTH this game has. Seriously, first 10 hours is random spell casting and only after that You start to see things.... I cannot wait to discover more! This is where devs focused and 'enjoyment' is absolutely great in multiplayer. If You can bear through the 'noob' phase You'll love it. I promise.
