Wife’s been pretty depressed lately so I bought her this to play while I’m gone at work. Every time I come home she’s excitedly telling me about the game. I love seeing her this excited, would definitely recommend this game for casual gamers

The tutorial is extremely annoying -.- First it starts like playing an anime, but it doesn´t stop. And you can´t even turn the sound down because it´s really too loud. There are no options at this time. You have to wait for....I don´t know...30 minutes or more? It felt like the whole day xD But if you get through it you will enjoy a cute farming simulator with Doraemon :3

Very relaxing and lovely looking farming game. But prepare for unskipable 1.5 hour long tutorial-intro before starting your first play session!! gamepad recommended.

I love Doraemon and harvest moon as a child, and this combination is like a dream come true for me. It's a super beautiful and polished game. I really enjoyed the start of the game and the art style. It feels like living in a watercolor book. The characters are unique and interesting. I wish they have more cut scene so I could get to know the characters better.   Unfortunately, the game mechanic is quite simple. We have all the basic harvest moon features, but it's missing things that i like about other simulation games such as crafting. Maybe when I get further in game, I could explore more of those things.  My first impression video: https://youtu.be/zyc5SNJA57M

Coming from the REAL Developer of Harvest Moon, this is the Harvest Moon game that we need... Gameplay is simple, especially if you already familiar with Harvest Moon game. The water colour background are so damn beautiful, the only thing that bothering me is the 3D character is not having any facial expression. Despite that, it's still looks beautiful tho. I hope we get more Story of Season game on PC in the future...

    - After a few hours, I haven't encountered any bug or glitch. (If there was any minor one, I didn't notice it) Tested on i7-6700, GTX1060 6GB, 32GB RAM, Win10 64bit, SATA hard drive. The frame rate is steady (I set the limit to 60 fps). And it's less than 1GB on the hard drive. - The game is basically Harvest Moon: Back to Nature with bigger map, improved quality-of-life features, gorgeous watercolor graphics, and beautiful BGM. (In case you didn't know, Story of Seasons is practically Harvest Moon. They just don't call it that due to some license issue.) - Some players complain about the control. I guess they use KB+M which I haven't tried (and I don't think I would). I use Xbox One controller and it works great. - Having two of my most beloved franchises in the same game is a must-buy for me. But if you're not a Doraemon fan, you might want to check out Wiki a little just to give you some background about Doraemon's gadgets, these kids' characters, and how the special 'adventure' episodes of Doraemon are structured. - Using characters from Doraemon has its negative side. It means Noby (Nobita) can't hit on girls around town or he'll be way out of character, unlike the main guy in HM:BtN (or the main girl in that other HM game). So, romance is out the window here. You can still give gifts to the townspeople to make them like you more though. - Two minor complaints. 1) If you grew up in the countries where they translated the manga character names as close to the Japanese names as possible (Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo, Giant) you'll find that the English names (Noby, Sue, Sneech, Big G) really, really stick out in a weird way. It'd be ideal if the dev could patch in an option to pick between the original names and the westernized ones. 2) There's no transparency when you're behind a tree, and if items drop behind a tree, you also can't see them and you just have to walk around until you see the 'Pick Up' button prompt. *** EDIT *** Another complaint: No cloud save. It's not a big deal if you play on one machine. Well, it's still not that big a deal when you play on several machines. It's inconvenient though. Conclusion: For a HM+Doraemon fan, this should be a no-brainer. For a HM fan who doesn't know anything about Doraemon, this game is still a good HM entry on PC.
Harvest Moon Meets Doraemon and Friends
The game is basically that, everything you loved about Harvest Moon is in here, combined with everyone's favorite Doraemon and friends. You don't need to know anything about Doraemon to enjoy this, but if you do, it'll vastly improve your enjoyment as you will feel at home with the story and the characters. The game perfectly blends the Harvest Moon gameplay with Doraemon franchise, which can be seen in the story development and Doraemon's gadget to make your farm life easier. The visuals are so beautiful with hand-drawn backgrounds and cute characters and animals, and the game is only 700mb in size! Regarding the PC port, it's pretty tame in term of requirements. Everyone with a modest PC should be able to run it full speed at 4K. The game also has native Dualshock 4 support which is a nice bonus for me. That said, the PC configs are pretty bare bones with only a few settings to tweak. And the resolution options are pretty limited and weird (no 1440p, but there are 4:3 options). More on the negative side, the English language version alters the characters' name with "Disney" version. For example, Nobita becomes Noby, Shizuka is Sue, etc. There's voice acting, but very limited to short catchphrases and grunts and groans. Furthermore, the amount of content and system complexity in this game is still not on par if compared with the previous Story of Seasons games. There are fewer crop variety, fewer events, fewer townsfolks, fewer farm/tool customization, etc. That said, if you haven't played the newest entries in the series, Doraemon Story of Seasons has quite a lot of improvements and additions compared to the PS1/PS2 era Harvest Moon games. Overall, Doraemon: Story of Seasons is a super charming farming simulator with beautiful artstyle, and you owe it to yourself to play this game if you're a fan of Harvest Moon and/or Doraemon.

I believe this is my first Steam review. Why start now? To warn you of a poor purchase. At hour 25 it will be apparent that this is not the game you hoped it would be. it is easily the most shallow rendition of any game of its type. I got to fall of year one before realizing that I had achieved 61% of all achievements and most of everything I normally set out to do in this type of game. Key things missing/ lackluster in this game 1) Dating system. Typically this drives the mid-late game for this genre. Its woefully missing here. 2) Interactive festivals. Coming from My Time in Portia, this game has fewer festivals and the interactivity of each is extremely poor. No games/stalls, no moving pieces, events to take part of etc. Most are: turn in your best crop and watch a tiring cutscene. 3) Greater mission. Completely missing is anything to drive you forward such as the Stardew Valley community Center, or the many levels of a mining/ combat dungeon seen in Stardew and My time in Portia, or even any museum for all your collected items seen in both other games as well. Other than a very boring storyline that in no way feels important to you as a player, there's absolutely nothing to complete in the long run. 4) Mining only has 9 levels with the 10th being exclusively fishing 5) Im told half of all farmable crops are restricted until year 2. Probably done so that there's "new" things to do in the game when it falls apart completely in year 2. 6) The farming prices/ quality produce system is just terrible. Farming is WAY less profitable than fishing and mining for example. 7) Item upgrades are terrible and no upgrade reduces stamina used for the tool. Overall its a complete rip-off at $50 and a terrible disappointment that the game we all want so bad is stuck behind releases like this.

No doubt, Doraemon SOS, is a very beautiful game. Decent animation, unique character portraits and sprites, and a stunning village/background.... Unfortunately, everything else left much to be desired, The farming mechanic follows the classic Bokujou Monogatari series, but there are times it can be torturous instead of fun. Animation to bring the animals out of the barn and coop is very clunky and unnecessarily difficult. Intro scene was too long and unskippable. ALL scenes are unskippable and can't be fast forward, so those who might want replay have to see the scenes all over again. ALL achievements are super easy because they only require the minimum. The foraging for items is the normal 'drilling' for any farming game, so depending the kind of player you are, it can be either a good challenge or bad challenge. But the most disappointing of them all is the characters' dialogue. Yes, there is a story/plot, but waiting for the next story point/mission can be boring because the villagers, no matter how many hearts you gain from them, their daily dialogue is always about weather. Only their heart events has unique dialogues, so they aren't all that interesting outside of those events. This game is a spin off from another IP that has its own lore and canon, so having no marriageable candidates is understandable. But I had hoped they'd recompensated through more interesting villagers. Alas... I hope the team who did Doraemon SOS can learn through this one's shortcomings and maybe make a spinoff in Natura? The game is way too beautiful to be just used in one universe. Maybe a new (chooseable) farmer got blown into Natura next time?

An overpriced 7/10 game that offers a lot of nostalgic features, but has its own set of flaws. There's a lot of things in this game that irks me, but being a fan of Doraemon I will let 'em slide. With that said, I would only recommend this game to people who are both fans of Doraemon and the Harvest Moon franchise. Now if you'd excuse me, I have to go back to mining.
