Final Fantasy III for steam is the pretty much the same version that was released for android and DS. It works very well and automatically maps the controller which is great. There haven't been any bugs as far and work as you would hope. The game itself is a gem and one that any RPG fan should have a go at if you haven't already. One downside is the price, I feel putting it higher than VII or VIII on steam is unfair due to the small amount of work they must have done to bring it to steam. Final Fantasy III has seen many make-overs, and this one is pretty much a port of the one on the DS with just a bigger resolution. But still, if you're a fan of Final Fantasy or love JRPG's, then you should still pick this up, especially if you haven't played this game already. Here's a quick look video so you can see for yourself what this game is like. But if you'd rather have a simple pros/cons/unmentionables list of the game, continue below. http://youtu.be/4O4xZ0HE56k As promised, the pros and cons breakdown. +Good, relaxing music. FF has always been good about this. +The ability to customize your party to your playstyle with the flexible job system. Anybody can be anything. Why not girl warriors and guy white mages? Break those stereotypes! +Strategic, turn-based combat. Some may prefer action, but I count this as a plus because you play at your own pace and the battles can be close sometimes. +Great exploration. There's hidden passages to treasure, optional dungeons, and mazes to loot littered everywhere, even at the beginning of the game. Did I mention you get an airship early on? +You can quick save anywhere. Super handy for any RPG and a person always on the go. ?Because of the exploration, you can wander into places you're grossly unprepared for and get stomped into the ground. ?The story is your typical "you're the chosen one to save the world and help people along the way." I'm not really bothered by it, but some people who want something different may be turned off by it. -No options menu besides changing resolution. Square-Enix actually makes really good option menus for PC, so I was a little sad to see that there wasn't even AA to get rid of some of the jaggies. -Because this is an old port, though a good one, the graphics aren't exactly breath-taking like the opening CG cutsceen. Personally I don't care since the good gameplay matters to me over graphics, but a lot of people get turned off by dated graphics unfortunately, even more so when they expect more from Square-enix. -It's pricey for what it is. But that's the FF brand for you. -No voice acting. While not the end of the world, it certainly does help immerse you into the world. Overall, it's a really good game, and it's nice to have an old-school RPG every now and again. Remember that childhood, my friends. Remember it.

Why put any amount of time into this game? Why spend 260 hours grinding for the Jack of All Trades achievement? Because I have an addiction to RPGs and trophys. This isn't a review it's a plea for help.

Nothing annoys me more than when a Youtube channel or Reddit post ranks all of the final fantasy games and puts Final Fantasy 3 towards the bottom. Sure, the game was only released in Japan, was for the original Nintendo, and had a somewhat generic story that didn't even name the main characters. But that completely discounts this INCREDIBLE 3D remake. This remake breathes a completely new air into the game, and is easily one of (if not) my favorite Final Fantasy games. Everything you think of when you think of the best Final Fantasy tropes are in here. Airships, Chocobos, White Mages, Black Mages, 9999 damage, lvl 99, Jobs, Crystals, Optional Super Bosses. People complain that the story is generic, but I think that's mostly because it's been done. Every Final Fantasy game involves crystals and saving the world etc. But this game probably does it best. The Job system is super fun and the D&D inspired magic system is also very enjoyable. Also, it's hard. To me, game style wise and graphics wise, this is the spiritual 4th main-line Final Fantasy game in the PS1 era, which is the greatest era for Final Fantasy. 10/10. This game rules. PS: I'm playing through on steam for the first time, but I have Nintendo DS with a broken D-Pad from farming job levels and have played this game for hundreds of hours.

Let me be clear, this is my favorite FF game and my favorite way to play it (I know it's not the best, there's just nostalgia) so I am very biased. This game drips with personality, has a stellar sound track and it pushed the boundaries of RPG's for the DS when it was released. The cut scenes hold up years later, beautiful character design and the tried true FF formula are truly present in this remake of FF III. With all this praise, why the bad review? The game can randomly delete your saved data with no hope of recovery, this is a well documented glitch that has received no patches since its release to Steams platform. I've had it occur to me twice and it completely ruined my desire to continue, I'll stick to playing it on my DS.

Classic game, one of my favorite Final Fantasy Series (although I love them all). Playgame : 10/10 (Classic Turn base system as usual) Story : 10/10 (Besta !) Graphic : 7/10 ( kawaii in chibi style, personally like the cool humanoid style) Music : 11/10 (Over Power !) what I think special is can change into any jobs. (exactly like Final Fantasy 14 Online that can change job anytime anywhere )

I bought it because I enjoyed the 3d Remake of IV so much but I can't get it to launch. I've tried every suggestion and nothing seems to work. Kinda giving up on these Square Enix titles.
