  Great Toilet Simulator, the hit Steam game, is easily the greatest game of all time. Here's how it changed my life forever. First thing's first. What's the deal with toilet simulators? You might not know, but they've been around for a long time. Some have so-so gameplay. Others are more fun than fun, more confusing than fun, even grosser than gross, and far too complicated to put into one little phrase. But that doesn't matter. Because, uh, toilet simulators. They are a thing. I had never encountered one until a couple weeks ago. But now, I can't get enough. A few months ago, I decided to start a Steam account because some of my favorite friends game on Steam and if I'm going to be hanging out with them, I need to play games they're into. As a gamer, I've tried every kind of game on Steam. I've played strategy, racing, casual, modern, indie. I've tried everything. I was at the point where I was giving up on looking for new games to play because it was more overwhelming than fun. I figured I could just play games I liked, which I had seen other people play and maybe play a few of those from time to time. But then I saw the ever-excellent Polygon review of toilet simulator Great Toilet Simulator, which is, of course, the best possible way to start a Steam account. "It is a remarkable video game," Polygon's Ryan Clark wrote. He put it like this: "It's more than that, however. It's a great game, a funny, joyful and immensely satisfying slop of fun that you'll find yourself spending time with again and again, in every session, every hour, every day. Sometimes, when you're sitting around waiting for dinner to cook, or waiting in line at the post office, or anything else that doesn't require you to move, you'll pop this in, and you'll laugh yourself silly and find yourself wondering how in the world you got so lucky to get this chance. You deserve to have the best, don't you? Great Toilet Simulator is the best." Great Toilet Simulator is exactly what it sounds like. I went into it without a clue. I was so excited by what I thought might be a stupid game that I could get through in an afternoon that I decided to give it a shot. I wasn't disappointed. Here's what the game is. It's a toilet simulator. It takes about five minutes to get the hang of it, but it takes quite a bit longer to really play it like a game. This is because, while it's a simulation of the act of going to the bathroom, it's also really, really strange and strange game. I don't know about you, but when I'm watching or reading about someone taking a crap, my attention is focused on the feces. What's in there? Why does it smell? Can I move it? But Great Toilet Simulator is so much more than that. It's kind of difficult to explain, especially if you're not into games, but in short, the game's is set up to involve all the senses. The player has to touch the toilet bowl, then all the different bits in the toilet. This is necessary because the game is all about making your way from your plastic toilet to the actual toilet. If you can get your fingers around the plastic base of the toilet, you can go all the way up to the tank. If you can get your fingers around that, you can go all the way up to the rim. There's also other body parts to get your hands on. The game is really clever about how it sets up those mechanics. If you're too tall, you can get stuck in the toilet, but if you're too short, you can barely get into the toilet. Get your finger on the base and you're good to go, I guess? It's less intuitive. It would be nice to have a way to make the game easier, but that's not what this game is. It's about forcing you to learn and adjust. That's not the game's only trick, though. It also involves lots of lights and mirrors. In one moment, your hands are in the bowl. The next, your hands are over your head, floating in the air. But it doesn't just involve those elements. You've got to time things just right, too. If you get up too soon, you're going to find yourself with poop on your hand. If you get up too late, you're not going to be able to wipe your hands. I've been in that position before. But here's the thing: I never get tired of it. In fact, the game makes it fun because it's so ridiculous. The visuals of the game aren't especially amazing, but they're incredibly peculiar. They're not perfect, but they're oddly vivid and weird. One section that was hard for me was during the poop drive. There's something about driving while your hands are not in the bowl that has always struck me as tricky. Your arms don't want to move. They can't. Your brain wants to move your hands but your arms just can't. So they don't. This section has always taken me a while to get right. This time was no different. And because it was new and weird, it made it more difficult. That didn't matter. I got it eventually. In terms of the game's mechanics, Great Toilet Simulator is surprisingly deep. You can't use your hands to wipe, but you can use a straw. That's the great part. It means the toilet parts are a ton of fun to dig around in. One of the coolest things about the game is that you don't just get to flush the toilet. It's not like every time you start the game, the toilet gets flushed. Sometimes, you'll just look at the toilet and think, "I should flush this." And then you do. It's not like a health goal where you have to do it all the time, but it's still a nice benefit to doing it all the time. But the best thing about the game is how it makes you think about poop in different ways. Because there's no goal, there's no reward. That gives the game's mechanics more space to breathe. They become more important. They're not a burden. Great Toilet Simulator is silly and fun, and it's totally worth checking out if you haven't played it already. It's an experience unlike any other game on Steam.

  Absolutely best game I've played, I cannot stop playing it. The backstory is so incredible and the gameplay is life changing. The graphics are better than real life. Before I ever started playing this game, I was a failing nobody. I was single and was failing college and my parents hated me. But ever since I started playing, my life has changed. I now have a 6.0 GPA (somehow) I have 37 different girlfriends and 1 boyfriend, my parents now love me more than ever, I make six figures a year, and I see life differently then how I saw it before. Thank you Great Toilet Simulator for changing my life forever.

  I was hoping to locate a decent restroom in this fantastic, expansive gaming world when I purchased it for the low price of 0.39 cents, but I was let down. In this game, I couldn't use the restroom because I couldn't find a single one. I still find it hard to believe, and I'm so hurt and disappointed that I'm starting to doubt myself.
