I have an ongoing HunieCam Studio problem, and have started looking for a cure. Sadly, this isn't it. Not a great sign when a game is mostly words, and there's a glaring spelling error ("This is where we wiil make history") in about the fourth thing you read. I've been in a number of bands myself, and I honestly wish that success could be boiled down to the kind of simplistic decisions you make here - e.g. buy the singer a better microphone! - but hey, it is just a game. I'm sure that running a camgirl empire is more complicated than HunieCam makes it look, too! That said... There's an art to these "management" games, and this just isn't one of the more inspired ones. It's functional, but there's not a great deal that says "fun" to me. Perhaps being so close to the industry depicted didn't help - no, I have never managed a harem of camgirls, despite the filthy gossip you may have heard on the street! - so perhaps those with no band-related experience will find more to love. There's no denying that the appeal of this type of game depends heavily on the context/setting and the weight it carries for the individual, unless the gameplay is so utterly compelling that even boring things like...er...farming!...can emerge as exciting for some players. Don't get me wrong, this game gets the band basics right: yes, you have to write songs; yes, you have to rehearse; yes, you have to do social media; yes, you might have to work some boring "day jobs" to avoid running out of cash. But really...it's pretty superficial and somehow lacks the strategic "depth" of something like, well...HunieCam Studio (I'm biased and completely unobjective on that note, I know...so sue me)! The "story" also didn't really get me in, given how simplistically it treats a "job" that is, ultimately, more about balancing psychological issues between bandmates than anything as straightforward as "spending more money on a recording makes a better song, and guarantees a hit" (somehow, a poor recording of a song apparently reduced the quality of the song itself at some point...pretty sure that's not how it works)! Actually, you know one of the most charming things about HunieCam? The distinctive characters, and their witty (and well-voiced) snatches of dialogue. This game TRIES - albeit, without the voice acting - but it doesn't get there. It's a very cardboard-thin view of what makes musicians tick, at best. Ultimately, I went "bankrupt" so many times that I threw in the towel; repeatedly going back to my last autosave proved too tedious in the long run, especially since I couldn't really tell what I'd done "wrong" in the first place. But it was already getting extremely repetitive, at barely over the one-hour mark, and I can't imagine what tremendous twists it could've thrown at me to spice things up at a later stage... Oh, and finally: you might have four musical genres, including "Rock", to choose from for your fictional band's adventures...but the game's sole soundtrack is the most banal, faceless electronic music you can imagine, and it churns in endless circles. So maybe put on a good album if you're going to bother giving this one the time of day (I started by putting on one of The Cure's weakest albums, and it was still one heck of an improvement over the in-game sound)! Verdict: 6.5/10. (PS If you enjoyed this review, feel free to check out my two Curator pages: http://store.steampowered.com/curator/9284586-ReviewsJustfortheHELLofit/ http://store.steampowered.com/curator/10868048-Truly-Horrible-Horror-Games/?appid=398210 Cheers!)

I really wanted something like this, so I'm a little biased I guess. It's fun tho. stuff i liked - Progression is nicely paced. May be a bit fast paced for some. - Doesn't go too in depth. I can just zone out and listen to podcasts. - I like that they just use real artist's names and it's not all cringey spoof names. - Little dialogue bubbles every now and then between characters. It's never funny, but I get a kick out of it somehow. didn't like - The game sound gets old pretty fast. (you can turn it off) - No character customization (besides your name). You choose 1 of 4 well endowed women who are themed to the genre you pick. No option to change clothes or hair or anything. They also pre-select your bandmates for you and it doesn't look like you can fire any of them. No going solo or anything. Devs, please keep working on this aspect! - I can and will overlook the aesthetic in most areas of this game, but my drummer and DJ are really creeping me out. - Kinda cheap-feeling. Overall, 6 bucks ain't too bad for what ya get. If you like music and simulators, give it a shot.

Tedious and Dull. For a game about music, the backing track is the same repetative song on loop. Absolutely nothing nice to look at here. You watch the same 4 characters nodding their heads, and cracking poor jokes. Actual gameplay seems to revolve around spamming "Work" and then Write a song. You can then go and record it, which will drop its rating by 90%. No, literally. The game states that when you make a recording of a song, it'll go from a 50 rating down to a 5. So why would I record songs? Progression seems to be based on grinding. There is little to motivate you to do anything here. The tutorial is boring and half the tooltips cover the thing you're pressing so you can't read what it does. The tutorial also doesn't explain why you do what it tells you.

Music Awards Manager. . .wait. . .Music Awards Tycoon. It's one of those. But it doesn't matter, because neither of them are accurate. You are not managing music awards, but rather a band. There's not a lot to do in Music Awards Manger Tycoon. You can rehearse, you can buy your band members new instruments, play shows to get fans, write song, record songs, and do odd jobs to get the money to pay your bills. There's really no challenge in the game. Every week you need to have a certain amount of money for your bills. If you don't have that money. . .maybe something happens? There's no reason you shouldn't have the money, because working gives you a very generous payout (sometimes it can be as much as four times what you need to pay your bills) and doesn't take a lot of time. And that is the only thing you have to watch out for. Your band members don't get tired or stressed or sick or unhappy or anything. They're always good, so they can always work, perform, record, whatever. So, all you have to do is work enough to pay your bills, buy studio time, or upgrades. Then, just do whatever. Play shows, get more fans to unlock new venues, play shows there, get more fans, repeat. Write a new song every so often. No much goes in to that. Pick a genre. Pick a theme, that doesn't really matter except you'll get a bonus if it's popular at the moment or if your band has items that increase the quality. Pick what effects you want to add on to the song. Pro-Tip: Add them all. There's no reason not to. It takes more time, but time seems to be meaningless. Then, figure out how you want to mix the song and give it a title. Record your songs, so the quality can drop significantly. Why does this happen? I don't know. But it does. Record enough songs and you can release an album. And then you just keep repeating all of this. Again and again. It gets old fairly quick. But if you love repetitive action and naming songs, then Music Awards Manager Tycoon Sim is a great choice.

Very repetitive and limited gameplay. Go find a copy of Rockstar ate my hamster (from 1988, so there won't be a hot lead singer which might be the best part of Music Awards Manager) instead, it's a better music management game than this.

As someone who is a BIG fan of band manager/rock band tycoon type games, I was completely disappointed by this one. There's no customization options for your band members. The gameplay is VERY juvenile and feels like an exact clone of several other games in the same genre. UI makes no sense. There's no randomization option for band names or song titles. Just feels very basic, and should be offered for free, to be completely honest. Save your money and buy a better game, like Rock God Tycoon, or even Superstar Band Manager (free on Android).

This game seems to be missing something, in most management games you have to make choices all the time and they matter. You don't have to make decisions for the band in this game, there is no real strategy as far as I can tell. Your band consumes money each week, you need to have that money or you lose instantly, that is the only loss condition. As long as you avoid bankruptcy your band will eventually hit the big times. It might be a grind, and it isn't entirely obvious what the fastest way to get there is, but if you play long enough your band will dominate the music world. There are also many odd style choices in this game. The only thing that changes as you switch between genres are the skins for your band. Your songs get the same topics, you use exactly the same band. It doesn't seem to matter either what kind of engagement your playing at, you can just always play whatever genre your best at and nobody minds. Most of the time you're looking at the screen, you have to wait for one action or another to be completed. Most of the remainder you're doing obvious things, there are only a very few clicks that matter. There is a system with managers, which can grant you interesting bonuses, but they are hidden in a sub menu, easily forgotten, and worst of all, they don't add much flavour to the game.

Clicker game, gets very boring fast. I had high hopes for this game, but like most games these days are let downs.

Note: This is an early access game so you may wish to continue following this game until it completes. The review is based on an early version of the game so the developers may fix some of the problems. This is a game I call a spiral, it basically just ramps up the rewards and costs without any real change in play approach, The Good: A fun concept. I really like the idea of managing a band and was glad to see someone develop a game around it Play is mostly intuitive and doesn't have a high learning curve The Not so Good: Game has no documentation (see note above) and only a basic tutorial. Many features are not really explained There are many issues with the game currently. Dollar amounts reported without formatting, negative numbers, scientific notation, etc. It doesn't seem possible to win an award even when you have the top two albums and singles in the nomination The manager mini games are in such broken English as to usually not make any sense but they seem to just be basic outcomes regardless of the choice. Really should work on translations or with a Native Speaker to improve these to at least make sense The developers have never apparently seen a map of the world (cities are not in the right places) and apparently the real world size of the cities is not reflected in the touring etc. Things which should be fixed There is no ability to change the band's clothes, style, etc or even the characters (just the looks gets boring after a while) Bad jokes which often make little sense in English or are extremely sexist, misogynistic in nature. Performance shots are the same regardless of a club with 100 people or a stadium with 100,000 Drop all the racist and sexist stuff please Not sure about why the band is often involved in criminal activity to make money (and there is little penalty). This is not reflective of the real world and to me, is not a choice I will make (bribes, swindles, etc. are not typical of bands) Revamp the performances so they change with the level Fix the maps so they are at least somewhat like reality Make some different models for band members How about some accounting so you can actually track what is going on financially. The limited reports make no sense much of the time (negative numbers for income etc.). I really enjoy the management but without data, management is just guesswork. Wrap Up A thin game with little content. It is a casual game for sure and could be great but needs a lot of development, consultation, to improve the content if it is to be a signifcant game with repeat playability. I played through an entire band cycle but I was bored with game by about the second album. Basically, it's just the same events, repeated and the costs go up each time. I found it fun to put together an album and record it. I liked the bonus items idea but too bad they can't be more tied to the look of the game (the artists wear the outfit they added for a bonus or something). I really think this could be a cool game if it had more depth and some corrections. Lots of things which may offend some people and lots of broken English that often makes no sense at all. Hopefully, in the development process, they can work out the bugs.

A very simplistic, unbalanced and shallow game which gets repetitive real fast. There is no Band management or "putting a band together" you are stuck with the 3 guys 1 girl setup. Musician improvement is exponential so the better one already is the faster he improves further(there is no skill cap). Quality of your songs is aritmetic = skill of musician (A+B+C+D) x bonuses = song quality and then you record it for further % bonus depending on money. Musicians get better secondary skills with bought instruments which then slows down their skill increases by training etc. so you are better of to train to 50% skill and then buy the top +50% instrument. Also when maxed by items (from 80 to 100%) your skill does not grow so when you unequip the item you are back at 80% no matter how much you might have trained. Also the instruments or choosing thereof is a big lie. You just have 4 music styles with an instrument level 1-10 and you cannot choose what each band member plays. So yeah 4 * 10 * 4 instruments to "choose" except more expensive is always better and you always have to use the one for your genre. (also apparently a 30 mil dollar mic. for pop is still worse than a 100 dollar mic for rock when doing rock) Choosing where to do concerts is pointless you just do a concert in 3 last opened spots until you have enough fans to open a new spot. You concert every day if you want to. Song Quality has little to no impact on Concert results. (there is a cap for song quality and even with 6 max quality songs the results are the same as with 100x worse songs) You can only do concerts in arenas where you have the appropriate secondary skills - just go buy instruments for that skill and continue playing your style. There is absolutely no need to change styles and there is no difference in what style you play. Doing a tour is pointless as you get ca. 50% the money and fans you would have gotten by just doing the everyday concert. Inventory and items have a very bad UI in the second half of the game: 1. limited inventory spots and no scrolling to see latest items 2. no sorting and no possibility to get rid of the old items 3. items should be unique but they still stack to allow a + 5 * 60% song bonus for 5 similar glasses etc. 4. price for items gets up fast but then slows down and come year 3 you could afford so many it makes everything else pointless
