  You must be curious why this game has so many negative reviews in Chinese.

  For English speakers: If you know what this game has done in China, you will know why Chinese players give so many negative reviews to a game produced by a Chinese studio. They had released a demo three years ago, when the epidemic was in lockdown and everyone was at home with nothing to do. If they had released the game then, it would have been a monumental achievement in the history of gaming, probably on par with 2016's Overwatch. But they didn't, insisting that the game needed more processing, which took almost four years. The pandemic is over, and naturally people don’t have time to play party games. This is actually not the point. I just want to complain a bit as a player who has waited for so long.

  The real point begins here.

  Before the game was finally released, the producers made it clear in interviews that their nitpicks resulted in the game being too expensive to run, and they were not shy about making it clear that they were prepared to make players pay for the company's operational missteps. However, there doesn’t seem to be much problem with the price in Europe or the United States? We all know that games on Steam are priced differently in different countries, which usually depends on economic conditions and exchange rates. The same type of party games are often priced half as much in China as in the United States, while Party Animals are almost the same price as in the United States. To refer back to the previous paragraph, they were not shy about making it clear that they were prepared to make players pay for the company's operational missteps.

  So, let’s guess which players bear this cost?

  Any promotions and announcements from the studio based in English are a mask of hypocrisy as they have never released the same content in Chinese, even though this is a Chinese studio. Their attitude towards Chinese players is ignorance and arrogance. Some people posted videos on China's YouTube (some of you may have heard of it, namely bilibili) exposing the company's different treatment of English users and Chinese players. However, these videos were subsequently reported and deleted by the company, and any negative comments and questions raised by the player community have also been blocked and deleted without an official reply. Finally, I'll talk about what's really about the game itself. After almost four years of work, what's the difference between a game and a demo? I don't know how many of you have played that demo, but the answer is, almost nothing, except for some paid skins and raffle boxes. In addition, in China, the in-game currency was officially designated as "ni mo bi". If translated into English, it would be, " phack u coin/dollar ", just read it out. Could this be an unintentional mistake? Yes, this has nothing to do with any non-Chinese people. I just want to show that our anger is not unfounded.

  Chinese player have indeed suffered unfair treatment from a Chinese company.

  How ironic! But if you still can’t understand the reason for so many bad reviews based on Chinese, then I can only wish you good luck.

  A comfy game to relax in. Not as bad as people make it out to be monetization wise. Lots of sick skins can be unlocked by just playing. 95% of stuff can be unlocked by playing as far as I can see. People are just way too sensetive tbh.

  men this game is hell of fun, but i think it will get boring very quickly since there is not a lot of content, also the menu is horrid, no option to make friends in game easily. and for a game that i played years ago and now releases it kinda feels nothing has changed, what did they do all those years. on top of that the micro transactions are horridly expensive.

  - in Brazil we have 150+ ping -

  Offline Mode

  - always need to be ONLINE to play -

  Less Mictransactions

  - since the game is not free, there is no reason to have so many microtransactions

  Ok, so lets clear some things up.

  This game has mixed reviews, which this game definitely does not deserve. Lots of people are giving this game negative reviews because of the fact that the game does not have an 'offline' singe-player mode, or because of the fact that the game has micro-transactions.

  Let's start with the offline single-player mode.

  To clear things up; the game DOES support couch split-screen co-op. The only thing it doesn't support is offline play, as you need an online connection to be able to play the game at all. I do understand people being upset about this, as the devs could have been more clear about this, and shouldn't have used the word 'offline' in the game description (which they removed as of now).

  Micro-transactions

  In no way is this game pay-to-win. All the micro-transactions in this game are cosmetic, and don't give you an advantage in any way. Matter of fact, both types of currency's are obtainable through just playing the game, and completing weekly/daily challenges! Which means that if you want to spend money to get your characters to look different, go ahead! But it's also obtainable by just playing the game and saving up the currency you get!

  Conclusion

  Even though i haven't played a lot yet, I can definitely say that I love this game. If you liked Gang Beasts, you're gonna love this one. The gameplay is almost identical, though it feels a little less clunky, and more controllable. Also the fact that this game adds quite some weapons to use, quite a lot of maps on release, and several game-modes to play, makes it so the game doesn't get old quick (which I did have with Gang Beasts). If the devs continue to update the game with more maps, game-modes, weapons and characters (which they are actively doing right now), this game is going to be fun, and fresh for a long time! If you liked Gang Beasts, you're definitely gonna love this one. Don't let the reviews fool you, the game is a blast! Especially with friends.
