  This was my Birthday gift, and it's without a doubt, the best gift I've ever had in the recent years, it's really an amazing and heartwarming story, the way you like your slice of life VN. Each route is a unique mystery to uncover, and a twist that you won't see coming, with finishing them all you get the full picture of a unforgettable experience. Don't mind my +200 hours, I literally was afk/sleeping half of the time, it took me around 100~120 hours to complete all the routes. Story : 10/10 Nene route: Obviously the best route, the white-haired must protecc girl, my personal preference of a waifu, which the whole story wraps around, giving her the most of the attention, which isn't bad at all, with an epic and great ending that has many breath-taking moments, don't go around and say you played the game if you didn't finish this route. Tsumugi route: The second best route in the game, a girl who might be taken for granted most of the time but is genuinely caring and so sensitive. Once you start her route, you can't ignore her overwhelming cuteness, with a good, fulfilling and happy ending. Wakana route: The bonus route which will be unlocked once you finish one of the other 4 routes. Not the best route imo, but a crucial one for the overall story. A cute girl with a normal story, can't say I enjoyed this route the most but it wasn't bad either. Meguru route: Honestly, the worst route that I played in this game, I don't hate the likes of her, but she was so annoying to the point that you might hate the game if this was your first and only route, and probably most of the people fell into this trap considering her "gamer" personality which we all like to have for a waifu, I'm not saying she's a bad character, but the story plot is so cliché and kinda predictable, and had the cringiest confession to make it even worse. Sorry Meguru fans. Touko route: The big tiddy milky-wilky milfy onee-san, I can't say I'm a fan of this type of girls, but the twist of this route was shocking in its own way, had what left unanswered of the rest of the story, and was a good way for the story to come to an end (since it was my last route in this game) Music: 9/10 Having a specific theme for each heroine was a good way of showing the presence of each character, and the music was very good in general, I can see the effort in making it. Voice acting: 10/10 Voice acting was really great. The VAs surely put their remarkable effort to understand the characters and their personalities. I was in real shock when I knew that Nene's VA is in fact Anya's VA (from Spy x Family), it took me some time to believe it, lol! Character design: 9.5/10 Unique personalities for each of the characters, including of course the side characters (Taichi, Kaidou, Kanae, Koshiji, Souma, and Akagi), each had their touch to make the story more great and magical in its own way, and the character backstories were what made it all a great piece of art. Translation: 8.5/10 As a weeb of an average level, I can understand some of the Japanese words that they say, and as the translation is good itself, it is just not that accurate, I mean who doesn't know that "baka" doesn't mean "I hate you"! Overall score: 9.5/10

But The walkthrough I saw said you can do whatever route first since this does not have a true route. While I mostly agree, I can say that Nene Ayachi should be the last route you done because I truly believe the dev had her in mind for a final route. So I do recommend doing in this order : 0. Normal ending, just to unlock that achievement but you can do it whenever you want. 1. Togakushi Touko, good enough and it expend the lore of the game. Also you unlock Kariya Wakana route as soon as you do one of the main routes of the game. 2. Kariya Wakana, a really short route. Did not really liked tbh 3. Shiiba Tsumugi, not exacly my cup of tea but I liked it anyway 4. Inaba Meguru, the sweetest of the routes by far. 5. Nene Ayachi, I've almost drop some tears and by finishing this route you'll unlock something special in the menu. Anyway, This was my first Yuzusoft game and it sold me.

  Please disregard the current playtime. I have read the Japanese version multiple times when it was released. ----- Sanoba Witch is an eroge by Yuzusoft, who are known for their extremely good artwork and deep character storyline within each route which is rare for most eroge to have considering most of them devolve into nukige fests and not much more character development. [b]-Summary-[/b] It's hard to make a good sumary without ruining the first 10 minutes or so of this eroge. Sanoba Witch is about a boy who is able to 'taste' the feelings and emotions of people around him. This is a pretty shitty superpower to be honest because tasting bad emotions seems to be pretty disgusting. Unfortunately, so that he doesn't need to taste bad emotions, he ends up accepting many people's requests lest he be exposed to contempt. He accepts a request from a girl to look after the library and then finds one of the main heroines masturbating on a desk. (Un)fortunately, she finds out that he watched all of it. The next day, he goes to her club to see if he is able to help her with the issue and see if he is able to control these...feelings. Instead of doing that however, the main character ends up taking 'pieces' from the girl. These 'pieces' are fragments of people's feelings and emotions, with the main heroine is a witch collecting these 'pieces' to fulfil a single wish. Masturbation is a side-effect of the witch contract. So basically this story is about the main character trying to help Nene collect these 'pieces'. [b]-Characters & Routes-[/b] [i]Ayachi Nene:[/i] Central heroine of this game, as displayed by their prominant focus on the artwork, just in case you didn't know which one is the most important. Is compounded by the fact that [spoiler]she has 11 scenes to herself compared to 4 of everyone else's[/spoiler]. Nene is one of the most popular girls in the school however that is not a good thing due to her normal shy nature and the effect of her witch contract giving her an uncontraollable sexual desire that she cannot choose when to fulfil it. She is part of a student counselling club, which double ups as an area where she is able to harvest 'pieces' without much trouble. [i]Inaba Meguru:[/i] The second heroine introduced in this novel, Meguru is a sad piece of work who tried to become popular but failed epically. She is an avid gamer. She is the only character (to my knowledge) that doesn't actually have any connection to the main overarching magic plot of the eroge, and her route is mainly a nice slice-of-life romcom route compared to the seemingly random romances in the other routes. [i]Shiiba Tsumugi:[/i] The second witch revealed in the story and Nene's rival in the area. Her witch contract however is different and is definitely considered much better to have; she is unable to do anything that revolves around the stereotype of 'girly'. That doesn't seem so bad, until you realize that Tsumugi really likes girly stuff. This route is not very good in my opinion; you know how Yuzusoft always makes a super shitty route in pretty much every eroge they put out? Tsumugi is unfortunately the one this time. [i]Togakushi Touko:[/i] Ah yes, what eroge wouldn't be complete without a 'senpai' route. The unique thing about this route, other than Touko being a senpai, is that the main character is completely unable to detect what Touko is feeling at the moment. Her personality is pretty quirky, considering she was the student council president, and is not afraid to make stupid sexual jokes at any time. Her route is okay, but in retrospect it could have been done much better and have became much better than Nene's route if only more time was put into this route. It had the potential to have a much better resolution. Unfortunately, due to this and the fact that Touko isn't a very full character (as in she had characteristics but far less characteristics or flesh outs compared to other heroines like Meguru), her route is a bit of a hit-or-miss for me. [i]Kariya Wakana:[/i] I hesitate to put Wakana in the character section but since she does have a section for herself, I put it here. Wakana is introduced into the story as one of the main character's only friends. You can't access Wakana's route at the start but her route starts if the main character accepts being part of her band, and with all things eroge, things start happening obviously. [spoiler]I believe this route was even worse than Tsumugi's due to the complete lack of buildup and doing some nonsensical decisions at times[/spoiler]. [b]-Sexual Content-[/b] [spoiler]You bought the game so you could get this you perverts[/spoiler]. It's good. [b]-Music-[/b] Let's be honest, you didn't get this eroge for the music. 3/10. [b]-Art-[/b] It's Yuzusoft. Their CG is pretty god-tier. Even if you hate the story, you're going to be hard-pressed to hate the artwork. 9/10. [b]-Replayability-[/b] Sanoba Witch has a decent story. It's relatable in the sense that most of the problems are common problems that some people might actually be facing in real life. Unfortunately this story takes the magic and puts it in so it can't really be applicable to most situations. In terms of whether playing it again would be desirable, it's probably okay to replay it once a year or so. Although if you bought this thing, you would boot it up every fortnight or so for the obvious reasons I guess. [b]-Conclusion-[/b] For a Yuzusoft game, when it was released it's a good eroge. It had a story that was okay, had god-tier artwork, and compared to the eroge that were released around the same time, it was pretty much top of the pack. If you want a better version of Sanoba Witch, Yuzusoft has released an eroge in 2018 named Riddle Joker which preserves the theme of abilities and arguably has better routes than all of their counterparts in this visual novel. 7/10.

  Fantastic. If you're looking for a nice lengthy high quality visual novel with romance, slice of life, comedy and drama in a school setting with lots of character development, then this is definitely right up your alley. The story is unique for each girl's route which makes them all worth doing. Also Nene best girl. Worth noting that you might come across a misplaced word or just a sentence missing a word once in a while which is understandable given the large size of the project. Most of them have been fixed since the time of this review though (I reported any I saw to NekoNyan as well). Adult patch is available for free, but naturally there's mosaics because Japanese law (and nothing drawn under mosaics if they're removed anyway).
