  [b]This is a long review so if you want just a brief summary of why I recommend Viscera Cleanup Detail: [u]Shadow Warrior[/u] skip to Results and read from there.[/b] RuneStorm brings to life all of our dreams by finally making a title where you get to see what happens after you play a game. After playing Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior you’ll learn that maybe you should reconsider before you go out of your way to break everything in a room. [b]Story:[/b] Lo Wang got in a devastating battle at a temple nearby destroying everything in sight. You are hired as a janitor to clean up a terrible mess. Bodies are everywhere, art is destroyed, and you’re the only man for the job. [b]Campaign:[/b] There is one level; it’s the same as the first level in the new Shadow Warrior game. It’s your job to clean it up with a mop and your hands. You must deposit the debris into various incinerators, mop up blood, and grab all the cash you can find. The campaign only has two achievements, clean up everything and grab all the money. If you can do this you’ve proven that “you’re the best around and nothing’s ever gonna to keep you down.” [b]Gameplay:[/b] This game plays similar to an FPS. The camera is always in first person and your two weapons are a mop and your hands. You must pick up garbage with your hands and throw it into incinerators while mopping up gallons of blood. You better keep your mop clean, but beware for some odd reason the machines that provide water can shoot out an organ. Similar to a normal janitor after you are done you must clock out. [b]Results:[/b] If you have always wondered what happens after a game, wonder what life as a janitor for crime scenes would be like, or even just want to play a game that doesn’t push your wits then Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior is for you. This brilliant game is hilarious to play if you just beat the first level of Shadow Warrior. For some odd reason the character sounds exactly like Lo Wang, which makes me wonder if after he saved the universe he decided to give up fighting and clean up his messes. Pros: +You get to experience Shadow Warrior through a whole new light. +You get to clean up bodies, mop up blood, and steal money… how many games offer that? +Good graphics +Easy gameplay, with simple controls. +Funny dialogue +Two straightforward achievements +Its free if you already own Shadow Warrior (2013) +YOU GET TO BE A JANITOR Cons: -Cleaning up everything achievement can be really annoying as a single bullet shell could be the culprit. -There is only one level (why can’t we clean more)

  Short version: Pros: + A lot of fun with your buddies + Hilarious gameplay + You get it for free if you purchase Shadow Warrior + Satisfying progress Cons: - No replay value (just one location) “Long” version: Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior is developed by RuneStorm and published by Devolver Digital. I called Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa’s Rampage a first-person cleaner and that is exactly what this one is too. You play as a janitor and you must clean a “crime scene” – in this case, the aftermath of Shadow Warrior’s first level. There is no story in this game, which is fine. Just like in the other games in this franchise, you have a bunch of tools to clean the crime scene (rubber gloves, broom, mop, etc). The rooms are filled with body parts, debris and random waste and it is up to you to leave the whole place looking spotless. It seems like a daunting task at first but, slowly and steadily, you will get the job done. It is quite satisfying! There is a furnus so you can dispose of body parts and debris but also a machine that spawns buckets filled with water and another one for biohazard boxes. You will have to use all these items to tidy up the place and it is a very simple gameplay loop. You pick stuff up, you use your mop for the blood, you burn things, spawn new buckets and boxes. It is rather cathartic… For the most part. You see, the game is physics-based so you are bound to mess up a few times. You can accidentally drop a body part and it will leave a large pool of blood. While you are walking around, you can bump into buckets filled with bloodied water and make a huge mess. That is the coolest (and most frustrating) part of the game, especially in co-op. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2577839236 Someone accidentally stepping on a puddle of blood and covering the whole room in bloody footprints is a thing of beauty. There is only one map, but it does have more verticality than the one in Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa’s Rampage. The upstairs section of the map is not very interesting, as it barely has any body parts, but it does have a few bullets and shuriken. Fortunately, playing Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior in co-op is great. I experienced substantial lag when playing the other game, but I could not notice any hiccups while playing this one. The graphics are good. They are not amazing but the colors are vibrant and the rooms look nice. When compared to Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa’s Rampage, this one is far better optimized. Sound design is fine. The sound effects are solid, especially the rubber gloves and the squishy sound effects. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2577839311 You get this for free if you purchase Shadow Warrior so I feel like it is an easy recommendation, considering how much fun both are.   You get this game for free when purchasing shadow warrior. It's been sitting in my library for quite a while now, so I decided to at least give it a quick look. There's only 1 map, it takes roughly 2-3 hrs to 100% the game. You play as a janitor and clean the mess made by the protagonist of shadow warrior (you clean the blood, burn the bodies, get rid off all the weapons scattered around) It's actually a really fun premise, I wish there were more maps. It can also be played in co op.

  Too lazy to clean in real life. Spending hours trying to clean on a game. 11/10, would clean again.

  Just got hired as a janitor. Doesn't sound like the most appealing job, but i heard this one pays big. After all i need the money. DAY 1: -- First day on the job. Iv'e got my mop, radar, and rubber gloves. Ready to take on this bloody mess of a temple. Here we go! DAY 5: -- So I have swabbed and muscled my way through the first room. Iv'e encountered various body parts, and an aray of shurikens. Iv'e still got another room ahead of me though, wish me luck. DAY 15: -- Finnaly Iv'e sanitized and purged the final room of the temple. This took way longer than i thought. Time to clock out, and go home. Can't wait to see my wife and beautiful children, god i miss them... DAY 16: -- So after attempting to clock off and leave, I have been notified that there is still a mess somewhere. Ther're not letting me leave. Not until I clean every bit of this temple. I have to finish what I started. DAY 32: -- Wow, its been a long time, I'm getting very hungry, my supply is starting to run out. But i found a bullet shell in the corner on the room. Hopefully thats my exit ticket. Hopefully I can finally get out of here. DAY 58: -- Turns out theres more to be cleaned. I havent seen my family in so long. I wonder if they think im dead. Nontheless I still need to clean. DAY 94: -- I..I don't know..I don't know where it is. Iv'e searched every nook and crany in this entire temple. I just can't find it. I've ran out of my food supply, I'm beginning to shake. I need to get out. I need to leave. I need to clean. DAY 149: -- Please if you are reading this send help, I swear on my life I've searched this place...Iv'e searched everywhere please save me. DAY 200: -- I give up, Iv'e lost it. I'm now mopping even places there could never be blood or dirt. I'm mopping the ceiling, or maybe it's on this hanging lamp...nope..maybe it's in this plant...nope..maybe it's on the very top of this pillar, there's no way anything could be up he...NO...NO FUCKING WAY...NO MOTHER FUCKING WAY.... I FOUND IT...IT'S HERE...ITS ALL OVER...I DID IT....I CAN LEAVE.... *Sorry, the temple is still filthy, you don't want to leave this mess behind you, do you.*

  I was greatly disappointed by the Shadow Warrior DLC and I consider it to be the worst level in the entirety of Viscera Cleanup Detail. It is way too short and too easy. There is an entire section that is empty as if the developers completely forgot to put stuff to do, It's intention is to be an advertisement for another game, except it is an advertisement that you pay for. If you can get it for a couple bucks on sale and want to complete achievements, fine... but that's all it is really good for.

  Far more pleasing than it should've been. Every minute spent on this game was worthwhile, and it felt rewarding upon completion.
