Quotes

"This is a game you could get very very good at, but pick up very very easily -- and that's a balance that not all game developers are capable of doing -- and I think that's what this developer has really nailed here" - Pliacy

"My younger son, 13 and me spent an hour in Warpaint swapping the headset over each turn. that is the longest he has ever played a vr game says it is great so well done" - HappyOtter

"It's a fun miniatures tabletop game without the expense of the tables or the miniatures" - twynstar

"I really enjoyed your game" - Centagon

"Played a little single player by myself and enjoyed a challenging defeat. Thanks for creating such a great game! I can't wait to see it grow even more" - Funkbass87

Gameplay Overview

Each player has an army of dwarves and catapults. There are 3 kinds of dwarves, each has a different movement pattern. You can move each of your units once per turn. Catapults are neutral, if you control units next to it, you may shoot the catapult once per turn. You can kill the opponents pieces either by moving onto their tile, or by knocking them over with a cannonball. Players take turns moving and shooting until one team is eliminated, or on some maps, the castle is captured.

I liked this, it's simple, very easy to pick up and there is a lot of strategy under the surface. Only major disappointment is the absence of a singleplayer campaign, that would have been awesome! Pros - Intuitive gameplay mechanics, lots of strategy, plenty of variety in unit tactics - Deep (if time consuming) unit painting feature - Physics based catapults let you play a 3D game of pool trying to knock over you opponent's units (great fun) Cons - No Campaign - Could be more unit types Check out some gameplay here: https://youtu.be/r-dVPt5KcA0

An amazing and underrated turn based strategy game for the Vive! If you love VR and tabletop strategy games then this game is for you! Not only is the strategy gameplay excellent, but you can even scale yourself down to gamepiece size which is amazing and this is exactly how VR makes strategy games amazing. Also I love the catapult mechanic in VR. It's the cherry on top of an amazing game. Be sure to pick this hidden gem up.

Please note: I only have a mouse and keyboard, so no VR for me. The game itself is spectacular. Reminds me a great deal of board games and toys I played with as a kid; it really brought back some nostalgia. Protip: Keep your catapults handy at all times, they're super useful. Now, there are three different types of units: Pawns. They move 2 spaces at a time in any direction. Knights. They move 4 spaces in a straight line. Wizards. They move... strangely. The best way I can describe it is they move to a triangular cluster of hexes one square away. Catapults I guess are also a unit, but they need to be escorted to be used and moved. Their physics are just dandy, and the sound the boulder makes is reminiscent of a hollow plastic ball. On to the thing a lot of people will be asking: How is the miniature painting? The answer: Amazing! In a few hours (even with mouse and keyboard) I'd painted the three different units in my favourite colours. I'm still getting to grips with the highlight and lowlight painting, but the basic colours are there! In short, this game is well worth your money, and needs more players!

A game with simple rules which create an elegant strategic game. Plus the sound effects are hilarious

This game is cute, fun, lighthearted and has awesome customization via the army painter. It's fun to play with friends, games tend to be rather short, with chess like movement of the various pieces and physics based guesswork as you steer and fire the catapaults. All in all I love this game, it's a cute little title that deserves a lot more attention. This game has a lot of potential and I'd love to see the community in it thrive. Keep an eye on this developer, I have the feeling we're going to see a lot more good titles from them.

This is a hard one to review: the concept is great, and I'm excited to see some tabletop strategy come to VR. The game is fun, though it definitely lacks polish. The music is good, but the voices are repetitive and don't add much to the 'feel' of the game. The game design is solid enough, like a limited version of chess set on a dynamic battlefield. However, there are only 3 regular units types (and the catapaults), and most battlefields are too large, which results in a largely lackluster match. While I haven't played against human opponents (and I will in the future, I hope, since the AI is dreadfully bad), I never felt much intensity or 'epicness' while playing that I would normally feel in a boardgame, particularly for one thats been ported to VR and allows me to physically get right into the action. I recommend the game so that others might try it out and encourage the devs to expand on their game: polish the map and controls, add extra unit types, and hopefully rework map design to lead to more strategically tense matches.

Making an homage to old games like GW's "Battle Masters" or "Crossbows and Catapults", this game is a little gem for old boardgamers and wargamers like myself. And you can even paint your miniatures yourself! I've played the non-VR version and had a blast!

To call this a 'physics tabletop game' is wildly misleading. There are 4 pieces and a catapult. There are less unique movements in this than chess, which is 1500 years old. In 2017 you can't improve on that at all? The 'physics' piece is even more of a joke considering you get exactly one option which is to shoot a catapult that doesn't even use the same launch mechanics each round - ball goes 2ft then 20ft when pulled back with the same power. Just a goat to try and get money from new VR players that think sub-par content should be acceptable since there isn't a huge library of great games yet.

I love the idea of this game, but for me singleplayer is broken (i.e. nothing happens when I press the buttons). Model painting keeps zooming me out and takes forever to zoom back in. Very creative game, but there are a lot of bugs that i've been experiencing, within the first 12 minutes of playing this game.
