Ibn Mujahid can be said to be the savior of qiraat because he is the only person who formulates the conditions for the acceptance of a reading. In addition, Ibn Mujahid can be said to be the savior of the science of qiraat because he was able to compile the Kitab as-Sab'ah, the only person who could determine the acceptable size of the narrator's reading. According to Ibn Mujahid, there are 3 benchmarks for the correctness of a reading: it is in accordance with the rules of Arabic even though it is in one face, in accordance with the Uthmani Rasm, and the sanad is valid; there are also those who add that the sanad must be famous. The original name that he attached to his qasidah was "Hirz al-Amani wa Wajh at-Tahani" in accordance with the 70th verse.
