"Gosudarstvenny Gimn Rossiyskoy Federatsii"

The National Anthem of the Russian Federation (Russian: Gosudárstvennyy gimn Rossíyskoy Federátsi) was composed by the poet Sergey Alexander Vasilyovich Mikhalkov in 2000.

The song was adopted on December 25, 2000 during the reign of President Vladimir Putin, replacing the previous national anthem, "Patrioticheskaya Pesnya", a ditty composed by composer Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka in the 19th century. Patrioticheskaya Pes itself was adopted without lyrics in 1990 as the national anthem for the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFS), and was adopted by the Russian Federation after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, under President Boris Yeltsin, remaining without lyrics.

Russian society itself has a different perception of this song, regarding the convenience of this melody with the Soviet Union's National Anthem. This song makes some people remember the glory days of the Russian people and the great sacrifices of the past.
