  Very good game, that I used to play on ps2. The PC port is amazing 11/10.

  TL;DR: More streamlined than the first title. Good for arcadey fun, not as in-depth/simulated as the first one. Also, bring the first one on Steam! This is another time where I wish Steam had a numeric rating system or at least a "no positive or negative" rating to truly show how I feel. For context, I played this game a lot when I was a youngin' and I got back into it a few years ago with my OG Xbox copies. I since got a download of the first game and bought this second one. Spoiler alert, I prefer the first one. The first game was a redneck trucking simulator where you had to buy and sell goods in different cities, challenge fellow truckers to races, and complete random missions at the bar in order to get enough money to buy your ma's company and beat your brothers and sisters. There were 4 drivers (a 5th secret driver you could unlock on NG+), memorable characters and settings, a decently sized map, serviceable driving, a comedic script and radio (it wasn't Monty Python funny but it had some legit chuckles), overall the game was a charming little sim that wasn't too deep, but didn't try to be. It was a balance that favored aesthetic a little more and it worked out well enough in its favor. BMT2 doubles down on the hillbilly arcade aspect of the last title with mixed results. The writing, while a lot of people complain about it, isn't all too bad, in fact it's on par with the last game. The map, while more detailed also feels significantly smaller in size. The game as a whole also feels weirdly smaller, with small details such as a 5th driver missing, main menu being static images, missing entering/leaving the diesel animations, less radio songs (tbf there was very little in the way for music in the original), no more custom truck symbols, they essentially hyper-emphasized so much details in some areas and completely ignored it in others. There's also new types of supplies to sell (including new illegal substances) and new missions/encounters, which are a welcome change of pace. The story is more or less the same, except instead of earning money to buy the company, you're earning cash to pay off jurors for your ma's jurors. The story works and the characters you meet are interesting enough to feel acceptable. The driving, to be blunt, is an extreme downgrade from the last title. The last game was slower, could withstand more damage, and overall felt like driving a truck. They try to make the game more fast pace but it ends up coming across like a bad Crazy Taxi clone as the physics are completely screwed e'ery which way to Sunday and the handling just feels...weird, like you're not hauling a big ol' trailer. The changes may help during missions when you're driving cars, but the truck itself just feels wrong to drive, and with the way the new timing system works, instead of selecting an optional race to earn extra money, you HAVE to choose a time to get to your location, which ranges from Truck Me Tenderly to Truck Me Harder, and the game expects you to get away from the BS "revamped" police system or drive the worthless hobos around as the game Trucks You In The Cornhole. The game is also weird in technical aspect too, like the textures feel EXTREMELY crunchy and the game overall looks worse than the first one. Also, the steam overlay doesn't work properly for me, which is slightly annoying. The audio levels are also all over the place. Overall, the new casino games, gallery features, and new missions aren't enough to fill the whole left in my heart. It's fun, but I would much rather prefer the slower, weighty driving as opposed to this simplified arcade wannabe. This is a good starter to introduce someone to the games to and by no means is it a "bad game" per say, I just feel the arcade route doesn't work on a concept like hauling trailers across the land to get your ma sum cash. It is normally on sale super cheap and you can still get some enjoyment so I GUESS I'll recommend it, but your enjoyment of this game will really come down to what you wanted to see out of the series, the over the top zany moments placed through an average trucking trip, or the ride itself to be the zany moment.

  Literally my childhood. Such great memories playing this on the PS2. Right up there with Killzone. Actually amazed it runs this well on modern hardware, I definitely suggest playing this game.

  Dreadful, this is much worse than the previous game. The handing of the trucks is awful, especially when trying to complete the 'parking challenge'. Oh, and after playing for an hour making good progress... there's no way to save the game!! The first BMT had the option to save, why on earth would you not include such an important feature?! The bikers are almost impossible to shake off compared to the original game. The introduction of aliens is so weird and makes no sense, I've never played anything like it. I'd choose the original BMT in a heartbeat. Don't waste your time or money.

  Played it in 2006~2008 and it kept crashing on my pc, so now I bought it again. Good nostalgia.
