The works by drawing an overlay over you screen which allows you to dim the screen. This requires you to grant the Display over other apps permission.

Why do I need to grant permission to draw over other apps?

Yami works by drawing over other apps to dim the screen. Apps cannot draw on top of other apps unless the user grants the app this capability. For Yami to work you need to grant this permission on your device.

Why do I need to grant permission to enable Accessibility?

In order to draw over system apps and notifications apps need to have been granted permission to use the Accessibility API. By turning on the Yami accessibility service any system or notification windows will be dimmed.
