Neural Cloud has become the latest talk of the town for Anime lovers and for very good reasons. Developed by the renowned MICA Team, Neural Cloud is an immersive 3D sci-fi RPG that combines strategic elements with Roguelike mechanics to create a unique gameplay experience that gives refreshing, and challenging at the same time. Based on the fan-favorite Girls’ Frontline franchise, Neural Cloud has gained quite a lot of traction lately.
Keeping that in mind, we are here to take a closer look at everything that this epic-looking RPG has to offer. From gameplay to graphics and storyline, we are going to cover everything in this extensive review of Neural Cloud to figure out if this game is really worth your time.
What is Neural Cloud
Neural Cloud is a rapidly-growing strategic RPG that puts you in the shoes of humanoid anime characters, known as Tactical Dolls, or T-Dolls, who are tasked to fight against the greatest threat humanity has ever faced. Now, believe me when I say, that the background story is nothing too interesting or unique. Most of the Anime games are rolling out with the same story where a group of survivors or fighters embark on a journey to protect their planet from almost inevitable destruction.
However, it’s not the story that matters here, it’s the innovative and super-challenging gameplay design that makes Neural Cloud stand out from the massive crowd of games in the genre. Playing as Exiles, you embark on this wild adventure through a world teeming with fierce monsters. And in order to progress, you have to engage in highly intense strategic battles on grid-based maps, where you have to carefully position your Exiles to outmaneuver your foes.
As you progress, these enemies get stronger, requiring you to come up with better strategies, skills, weapons, and even more powerful Exiles… as Neural Cloud is a Gacha game and you have to unlock better characters in order to progress. But that’s only scratching the surface of this game, there’s still so much more that this game has to offer. So, let’s talk about the game’s outstanding features in detail.
Neural Cloud Features
Neural Cloud comes packed with a ton of awesome features that make it so popular in the genre. It’s time to talk about every major aspect of the game in detail to help you make a decision for yourself whether or not the game is worth playing.
- Strategic Combat: One of the things that I love about Neural Cloud is its strategic combat with Roguelite elements. You get to engage in thrilling battles that demand both strength and strategy. The combat system in this game is heavily inspired by roguelike games, which makes it all the more challenging. And unlike most games in the genre, Neural Cloud lets you win battles and complete objectives in more ways than one, where the power of friendship buffs and effective team composition can change the fate of battles.
- Deep Crafting System: The other thing that makes this game so different is its crafting system, which allows you to gather valuable materials during your journey to craft and upgrade facilities in the game. This system gives you the ability to design your very own city just the way you like. You can create things like dorm rooms for your Exiles, or give your surroundings a personalized touch.
- Next-Gen Exiles: Neural Cloud lets you pick from a wide collection of next-gen Exiles, each with their own unique backgrounds and abilities. And it’s super important that you keep in mind their abilities, as some Exiles excel in providing support, some have Tanky nature that makes them more durable for frontlines, while others provide healing abilities to their teammates. So, make sure to keep in mind each Exile’s strengths and weaknesses when setting up your squad on the hex-grid.
- Generous Gacha System: Of course, we need to talk about the Neural Cloud’s Gacha system, which is quite generous compared to other games in the genre, which is great news for F2P players. It’s comprised of 3 different banners including Basic Search, Advanced Search, and Event Search. But without getting into too much detail, the primary rates you get go something like this - 3.60% for 3-Stars, 18% for 2-Stars, and around 78.40% for 1-Star Dolls. These rates greatly enhance the accessibility of higher-tier characters for FF2P players, ensuring a more satisfying experience for all.
These are some of the major features of this game that everyone deserves to know before they decide to embark on this epic adventure. One of things that players are often worried about is whether the game is actually fair to play or just another cash cow for the mobile game developers. Luckily, that’s not the case with Neural Cloud, it doesn’t push you against a paywall and force you to pay in order to progress.
Neural Cloud Tips and Tricks
With so many things to do, Neural Cloud can feel a bit overwhelming for beginners. But worry not, as we have prepared a beginners guide with tips and tricks that can help you navigate the perilous world of Neural Cloud with ease.
- Unlock Game Modes For Better Rewards: One of the very first things you need to understand is that if you stikc to the main storyline, you will unlock new game modes. And these game modes will help you get better rewards and rare materials that are essential for your Exiles’ upgrade and growth. So make sure to spend some time in campaign to unlock new modes before you even start farming.
- Team Composition Makes All the Difference: Being a tactical RPG with characters from different classes, the thing that can make or break your experience in this game is team composition. Having a balanced team composition that includes a couple of DPS characters at the back, and more powerful and tanky characters with good synergy can go a long way. It’s important that you also have support or healers in your team to keep the composition strong. Keep in mind that you will need both characters that can deal single target damage and AoE damage to prepare for boss fights.
- Rerolling in Neural Cloud: Unlike most Gacha games, Neural Cloud doesn’t force you to reroll. Instead, you have enough 1-star and 2-star characters that in some cases perform even better than 3-star characters. So, you don’t have to reroll but if you still want to, you surely can. All you need to do is simply head to User Center in the Setting menu and click on Delete account. It will completely reset the game for you to start fresh again.
- Choose Your Rewards Wisely: Every time you win a battle in Neural Cloud, the game lets you choose between different rewards. These rewards include ability buffs and experience packs that can be helpful in player progression. But it’s important that you choose your rewards wisely. As a beginner, you should always prioritize experience packs over other buffs as they are rare and help you rank up faster. And when you do decide to pick Buffs, make sure you sell away the ones that are less powerful.
- Clear Dailies and Weeklies: Just like most multiplayer games, Neural Cloud has daily and weekly missions with exciting rewards. It’s important that you try to complete these missions every single day to maximize your reward. By doing these tasks regularly, you can easily farm a plethora of materials and other useful resources in the game including Diggcoins, Keys, Gifts and Quartz Sand, and much more.
These are just a few of the many tips and tricks that we have for you so you can enhance your gameplay experience in this game and become a better player. Lastly, don’t get tilted when you lose battles or don’t get the right resource and items that you need, you will slowly get the hang of it.
