  Despite the negativity, this route is above and beyond superb. Very scenic, very enjoyable, great environment, and so well made. I just don't get it it with the bad comments. I will admit, I have a decent PC. I7 12700, RTX 3060, and 48 G of RAM. Not top end but not rock bottom. If you have a machine similar to mine or probably better, don't be reluctant to buy this DLC. It was a joy to zoom in my class 91 from end to end.

  This route is fairly good for its age, considering it was originally made for TS2015. As with many older routes, it has it's flaws the level crossing gates with the traffic not stopping, "always on" lights shining during the day which can have an effect on PC performance. None are game changers and shouldn't put anyone off purchasing the route. After watching a video of the Newcastle to Edinburgh ride I can safely say that it has the same curves, sometimes a bit exaggerated (it looks like a roller coaster). Overall, a nice route, worth the purchase, however, if you do not own the European Loco and Assets and/or the Class 91 addon, I would recommend holding off buying the route until a sale comes round where you may be able to pick up all 3 for the current price of the route. I haven't had any crash or memory crash or any error that other people say.

  I bought this DLC hoping to have the great experience of going from Edinburgh to Newcastle and I'm severely disappointed in the amount of what I can only describe as half arst put together DLC there are parts of bridges missing there is bridges floating in midair with no supports there are cars floating in mid air the sections of the track it's just not even close to what it's supposed to be and the fact that most of the track is what can only be described as what should be in Sidings not high-speed track this DLC has not been finished it has been put out rushed it's the fact that even level crossings aren't level crossings there's no the track in the road on even the exact place it is being together rushed I feel like motors could do a better job and it would be free I not happy spending £19 on this and I don't feel any one should bother buying it until they fix the issues

  This route is a perfect example of how this game does not properly utilize available memory. Even in the 64 bit version, YOU WILL experience relentless out of memory crashes even on high spec machines. I was able to do a single run of the route from Edinburgh to Newcastle and after that, the game would instantly crash on the load screen every time I tried to run this route. After exhausting all possible troubleshooting options, I requested a refund. What a shame. This would have given me the entire ECML. Don't waste your money. Get Trainz instead which has the entire ECML in one route.

  Fraught with errors all through game, left Edinburgh on yellow sent down wrong tunnel and crashed with oncoming train, signs at Berwick station just floating in air, further towards Newcastle on at least two level crossings traffic passed over the crossing even though gates were down , on arrival in platform. 14 Newcastle , there was a Scotrail train on adjacent platform , a diesel hauled loco ploughed into it ending the game, this sim needs some serious work before it is fit for purpose

  I originally bought the route direct from Just Trains when it was first released way back but decided, as with other third party products, to add it to my Steam library for convenience and to declutter my hard drive. It is a well built route, not overly populated with assets. Ideal for a Quickdrive run out after you get home from work. Just a shame that JustTrains still insist on overloading the quickdrive services with "sticking out like a sore thumb" ai consists. Easily sorted out by manually deleting them from the route's asset folder but still, a bit lazy in my opinion. As with many older routes, it has it's flaws. As mentioned above, the QD ai, level crossing gates with the traffic not stopping, "always on" lights shining during the day which can have an effect on PC performance. None are game changers and shouldn't put anyone off purchasing the route. The scenario's are simplistic. Use of the old "Virgin" styled livery HST (Red & Black) aswell as the East Coast (two tone Grey) in scenario's kind of takes away the enjoyment. The supplied scenario's do seem old, they look and feel as if they where created before we got the new scenario creation tools 6 or 7 years ago. As an experienced scenario creator myself, I really think far more could've been made of the supplied scenario's that would've far enhanced the product better. I was surprised the European Loco and Assets weren't included in the product itself and are needed as a separate purchase, the same as the Class 91 which is needed for some of the scenario's. It would be nice to think Dovetail Games and JustTrains could've worked something out to supply them as part of the pack. Rating 6.5/10 Overall, a nice route, worth the purchase, however, if you do not own the European Loco and Assets and/or the Class 91 addon, I would recommend holding off buying the route until a sale comes round where you may be able to pick up all 3 for the current price of the route.

  This is my first review of a Train Simulator game and up until now I have loved playing every single one of them. I bought this game mainly to drive the different HST's. However I only had one included, so I asked for a refund as clearly the false advertising swayed me buying it. I asked for a refund, several times, and have been refused due to initially playing the game for over 6 hours. My first time was 10 minutes and I have absolutely no idea where they got that time from. I've asked for proof but still no reply with evidence of that. Also, surely it doesn't matter about the time either, the point is that they sold a game under FALSE pretences. I have noticed the pictures have now changed although the Virgin style one is still there, which I still haven't got. I even suggested not to refund the £20 but could they give me credit to buy the LNER HST so at least I have one new class 43 new livery as I love those trains. Again declined due to initial game time. I have spent so much on them and I am a loyal customer and I was going to take it further on principle but due to suffering with high anxiety, which this company know about, I just haven't got the strength to do it. Instead I have now stopped buying from them altogether and won't again. It is their loss now as they have lost out on more loyal business and money spent by me during the recent sale. I am so disappointed and please do be very careful before buying from them.

  Had this route for a few weeks now and I have had no bad experiences with this DLC. It connects England to Scotland on the east coast main line and has some good liveries for the HST, very straight forward route with a few stations along the line. I enjoyed this DLC and whilst it is a bit pricey for what you are getting I do recommend it for those wanting to complete the east coast main line.
