    About the Game

Not everything is as it seems in Raven Brooks. Picking up directly after the events of the original game, the police show up at Mr Peterson’s house — where he had kids locked up in his basement.

As Quentin, an investigative journalist, you sneak into crime scenes and people’s houses to find clues and evidence. It’s up to you to piece this puzzle together. Building upon the formula of Hello Neighbor 1, you play in a larger open world with multiple houses inhabited by suspicious characters.

    • Sneak into suspicious characters' houses, because that’s what investigative journalists do

    • The town of Raven Brooks is your playground, with AI-driven residents inhabiting its houses

    • Track down Mr Peterson - the infamous creepy Neighbor

Full of Lies, Removed Features, Deceit, Short Gameplay, All with a 80$ Price Tag! The game is hilariously short, having 10 "chapters" and a mediocre Boss Fight! Did I mention they are selling 20$ DLCs, Both of which are hilariously broken to the point the Library DLC ISNT COMPLETABLE? While I did enjoy the Gameplay, Visuals and Cutscenes, the Story is flawed and the game crashes so.. so often. Here are some features that were removed, that were promised or previously in the Beta: - Paint Cans - Baker actually Baking - Puzzles that Involve AI! - Characters States changing, You can no longer make them Dirty and have them take a Shower! - extended animations for the Crowbar and Windows, Now just press the button with them and they open! - Cut Guest entirely out of the game! Wow, the Main Antagonist! Gone! - Neural Network is not in the game, No matter what they tell you, there are NO files in the game currently pointing towards it! - The map was reduced to a fraction of what it previously was! - Non-Linear Story!

Main game is OK a few glitches here and there and some of the puzzles are hard to understand, story ends with a cliffhanger (as of early access.) Both of the DLC'S are Glitchy and also have no ending, the maps feel rushed and the puzzles make no sense and also sometimes dont even work. Also, Ai.. Its better than the original, but we were promised an 'neural network' ai that learnt from your mistakes and successes, also most of the features from the beta are completely removed so its kinda a downgrade if you wanna waste your money, you can also burn it too if you'd like. i will change the recommendation if the game gets a major patch.

game is better then the first one, but its not complete and they removed a bunch of features that were in the beta and alpha which were good features and they removed them for no reason, if you look at the devlog video they promised a huge open area with lots of different characters, in the full release, there is like 5 characters, the guest, who is supposed to be one of the main enemies in the game, is in a single cutscene and makes some noises sometimes in other cutscenes, and the map is open sure, but you cant enter anyone elses house besides the one the game wants you to, until you beat that house. game was fun, but is not replayable at all, the AI has improved and is more of a threat, which is one good thing at least. but the AI does even less things then they did in the beta, you cant throw paint at them or anything. i hope these updates they promised bring these features into the game, but currently i cannot recommend this game for its price.

    WAIT FOR A SALE

This game is pretty good, definitely a massive improvement over the first game, but it is NOT worth it's current price. The base game took me about 4 hours to complete. If you're interested I recommend waiting for a sale.

There is about 50% of the game promised, and one of the important characters is a raven that was introduced in beta and alpha. I haven't seen him even once. It was completely deleted, and the entire game only took an hour and a half. for all the years of waiting and suspense, unfortunately they frustrated us.

This game, is absolute cvrap. The First one was Okay..when i actually got to play it. I remember it deleting itself from my library and then reinstalling itself and never letting me play it. And apparently the only way to fix that is by turning the wifi off which makes little sense considering i use a direct connection. However back to this game. Years...Years we waited and this game is absolute trash. The sheer amount of bugs, crashes, and general overheating is insane. And before people say that my pc is the issue, I have a 3090 Ti Along with 128Gb of Ram..so no..its not me. Its this load of garbage that Tiny Build decided to call a game. Seriously...wtf is wrong with TinyBuild..ill never know

Hello Neighbor 2 is a disappointing mess of a game created by developers who put passion into their work but ultimately were forced to rework their game by a soulless corporation. Here's some context before I go into the main review: I have been a fan of the Hello Neighbor franchise ever since the pre-alpha came out back in September of 2016. I mean, I even have one of the second game's characters as my Steam profile picture. So, you would think that if I'm such a fan of Hello Neighbor, then I would love the sequel to the original game, right? Well...no. For 40 dollars, you receive an at most 4 hour experience (but if you're good at puzzle solving or just have a big brain in general then it's more like 2 hours), and for 60 dollars, you receive what I just mentioned along with 2 horrible DLCs and one okay DLC. The Late Fees DLC is buggy, the librarian is not threatening, and there's no ending because Steel Wool (Yes, THAT Steel Wool) seemingly didn't have the time to finish it (Wow, that sounds familiar). The Hellocopter seems to have been ported straight from Alpha 1.5 (other than there being no battery depletion), as it moves slower and slower the further it gets away from you. Not to mention, during the game's final boss, if you have the display for the hellocopter, the hellocopter drone itself, or both in your inventory, you will lose them forever after the boss fight, because (as of writing this review) they are the only two items in the game that do not respawn. The game promises a large, open world, a neural network AI that adapts to your playstyle of breaking into their house, and much more. So, how does the game do in that regard?...tinyBuild, the publisher of the Hello Neighbor franchise, falsely advertised practically EVERY aspect about this ENTIRE game. There is no neural network AI in any part of this game. We are instead left with a slightly better version of the AI from the demo, but when I say slightly, I really do mean slightly, because the characters still stop in the middle of chasing you, lose sight of you incredibly easily, do not use the layout to their advantage (I.E cutting you by taking another hallway that connects to the route you're taking), and can't see you from nearly as far away as the AI in the first Hello Neighbor game could. Now, what about the open world? A few streets, and all the locations are right next to each other. The spooky museum that the Neighbor from the first game is hiding in is right next to the bright and colorful bakery, and that is right next to the neighborhood. Not only that, but the game is in a linear structure until you beat the final boss and witness the ending, meaning you can't freely go to the different locations and do the puzzles in the order you want. The worst part about this is that the game wasn't originally like this. There are some (I say some just to be grammatically correct, but I mean a lot) rumblings that the original creator and lead designer of the Hello Neighbor franchise, Nikita Kolesnikov had any remaining power over HN taken from him during the development of this game. This can be seen with Nikita being demoted to creative director, and the new lead designer being given to Alexus Kravchenko. When Alexus became lead designer sometime last year (probably soon after Devlog 1 was released), the direction of the game started to change. The artstyle shifted to be more akin to the first Hello Neighbor game, which was a welcome change, but when the beta reveal trailer came out, no mention of the neural network..then the second beta trailer came out, and no mention of the neural network..hmm. The beta finally comes out on April 7, 2022 and..there's no neural network..apparently they're saving it for the full game..understandable I guess. Oh, but wait, a few months ago, everyone found out that a DEMO for the full game was shown off at PAX West! Then that demo releases...and the full game is found in an early version of the demo, and now we have a good idea of what the full game might be. Oh, but they still have 3 and a half months before the game releases, I'm sure they can change stuff!...well look what happened. I remember watching a retrospective about the abomination that is Riverdale. The person said that some seasons are so bad they're good, while some parts fall in this thing he called the Mediocre Valley, where there wasn't anything amazing (obviously), but there also wasn't anything so outlandish or insane that made it so bad it's good. I believe that describes the difference between the first Hello Neighbor game and Hello Neighbor 2. Hello Neighbor 1 has so many outlandish and crazy design decisions that some parts of it somehow manage to be fun, while Hello Neighbor 2 lands in the Mediocre Valley because there's really nothing notable about it other than tinyBuild's false advertising.

Do not buy this game or it's DLCs. The DLCs are overpriced and unfinished, just like the regular game. The movement is clunky, the inventory is terrible, it's a short, bland, and downright bad experience that I wish wasn't built up to after 4 years. Just buy Hello Neighbor 1 instead
