  I find this game very enjoyable. I get a nice warm fuzzy feeling when troubled students get the counseling they need and get into top tier colleges. There is a small bittersweet feeling you get when see these students grow up in your school, have to leave for better things. Of course, it feels a bit shallow. I achieved the ideal school in less than 24 hours of gameplay, which I suppose isn't the only goal in the game, but that's what mine was, and I feel that was good enough. I think what would push the game over the top would be the addition of more social aspects being implemented. Bullies/crushes are awesome, and these interactions make you root for good outcomes (doesn't always happen of course), but the drama is somewhat interesting. However, there isn't much of it. I wish there were cliques, fads, and trends to contend with. Perhaps, students will resolve to establish territories in non-essential classrooms/area where outsiders are snubbed or bullied. Perhaps, if they walk the walk or talk the talk, they can join the clique. I don't think it has to be only traditional, "Goth, jock, geek" archetypes, but perhaps students who don't fit into these groups create subcultures based on musical/game interest? I don't know. This is a review, not a suggestion board. Ryan Sumo, I don't know if you're done with this game, but I loved it, and hope there is more. If not, I think that's cool too. Thanks.

  So, I'm on my second school and I like the game, but I don't love it. It uses Prison Architect-like Grants and is very similar in feel, but did not have PA's stickiness. At about the forth year (senior year for my original freshmen) I started to feel like there wasn't enough to do. Granted, I still spent 40 hours playing, and I really like the school concept, but I so wanted more. This game could have benefitted from more varied classrooms, more choice in things like PE events, after school clubs, sports, yearbook, student council etc. I'd still recommend it since the first 20-30 hours is quite enjoyable and I could see replaying it at some point in the future.

  This game is fine, but I can't recommend it because it's pretty shallow. Not nearly as much depth as it wishes it had - the replay value is pretty low since nothing very interesting ever happens. The scenarios are pretty much all the same. The random events get very repetitive after a while. For some reason when playing scenarios, you don't have access to grants, which limits your funds a lot and makes finishing the scenarios a real drag, as at a certain point you're just waiting to earn enough money to finish one more room. The student's aren't interesting, the faculty aren't unique. It's a very bland game overall.

  Sunk the past 3 days into my school called 'Prison', with my uniforms of prison jumpsuits, with our motto 'My Money, Your Trauma'. Made it to rank 225/1000 after completing my 4th year. Very popular school with 644 students interested. 100/10 great game.

  Academia is a nice game about running your own school. It's nothing too special though. I feel it could do so much more, like relationships between students, being able to address students and teachers personally, being able to adjust more exact stuff like curriculum, times, classes, etc. What I'm trying to say is it could use a LOT more micromanagement. The macromanagement is solid. Its nice to build a school and cater to your student's needs for a while. I feel like there isn't much more to do once you've built yourself a complete school, though. Nothing special happens on any given day (except the time 178 of my 194 students were sick) and any normal schoolday just basically runs itself. The game could use a lot more in-depth content and interaction, but the basics are solid. I don't recommend it at this time given the price tag, but its in early access and the devs ask you what parts you'd like to see implemented in the game next, so I'm sure it will get more content along the way. Then it'll be worth the investment.
