This thing is broken in single player. It's a beautiful, futuristic plane and it features an awesome metallic red skin. Its machine gun is replaced with a pulse laser which is already insanely powerful as a special weapon, and if you're playing on normal mode that means this has infinite pulse laser. The UAV secondary is a very powerful weapon because it requires almost no skill to use. If there are enemies that are very hard to hit then the UAV will help you a lot. It's also just very fun to use. Over all very pleased with this DLC, very highly recommended.

the raven is fun, but do not use for any mission requiring flying in tight spaces, as its quite large.

Great plane broken in single player mode. The uav are op but must say the tls dissapoints me a little. Coming from my experiences in ps2 ace combat games where the laser kills anything it glances at.. the new laser system takes some time to deal damage but oh well cant complain too much.

After test in Free Flight, Cockpit view is almost the same with HUD view, no wing, no monitor, no seat. Only change the Saturated view from 360 cockpit monitor. I got a bit disappoint on the cockpit (compare with ADF-01 in the Ace5 or Inifinity) TLS of this craft is almost non-stop as after its beam finish shooting, the cooldown left only ~3 sec for the next shot.

ENG: WOO, this ADF-11F Raven air plane is just epic, it's just legendary. This air plane performance is superior & even if this is unrealistic air plane or prototype, this air plane is just cool! <3 This is good example & reason to own season pass because, good content that what was usefull in story! Plz, i want more of them... <3

Meh. If you get with the season pass cool, if not, you're basically paying for a totally OP plane that'll blitz the campaign and probably suck out the fun. Bandai/Namco, you need to do better than this. The aircraft was in the game already, making it playable and the first DLC is a stall move when people want more boss fight missions, story and actual content. Don't be EA. C'mon.

I'm writing this review to disagree on the majority of comments saying the ADF-11F makes the campaign a cakewalk. Most planes can do just as well, if not better of, a job than the ADF-11F. I'd like to think I'm relatively well-versed with the aircraft roster, although there are a few planes I haven't touched at all. Disclaimer: I did mainly use the F-22A or the X-02 for most of my Ace playthrough. I also don't have too much experience with free-aimed bombs since I don't like the modern aiming reticle (I'm used to the AC04-6 piper). Potential spoilers (mission gameplay descriptions off the top of my head)
Mission 1: AA, but easy AI regardless of difficulty. I suppose ADF-11F with UAV would cheese this mission, but any plane can. In fact, a plane with long range missiles may be faster, especially since I've noticed the UAV has inconsistent behavior when targeting AA targets. Mission 2: AG first phase, Raven's weakness in my opinion. Most efficient in my opinion with the F-22A with XSDBs. Second phase has MQ-99s which are one-shot (AFAIK, at least with upgraded missile damage), making most planes quick on the second phase anyway. Mission 3: AA-heavy. Given that most of the Arsenal Bird's parts are fairly tanky, the Su-57 is likely the best choice for this mission as it has the highest DPS. If I recall correctly, this game featured both 4AAMs and 8AAMs. Both special weapons would also do fairly well during the Arsenal Bird phase. That being said, the phase isn't particularly difficult, so the ADF-11F may in fact be quite the contender since it can fire both PLSL and missiles at the Arsenal Bird without being in too much particular danger. Haven't grinded this particular mission much so do take my analysis with a grain of salt. Mission 4: AA-heavy, with AG mixed in. I suppose the ADF-11F would excel at AA with QAAMs, but so would any other plane with QAAMs or other AA special weapon. Hell, even the Su-57 would do quite well since enemies are so clustered; PLSL can rain death into the clusters of enemies, and it's a AA/AG special weapon with superior range and DPS to the PLSL-Gun. Mission 5: AA-heavy. ADF-11F would excel here, but again, so would any other fighter. Multi-target missiles may in fact be superior to the PLSL-Gun and QAAMs/UAVs of the ADF-11F since you can more quickly pick off the bombers. Mission 6: AG-heavy if I remember correctly. F-22A in my opinion will likely be the most efficient aircraft here due to the XSDB's fire-and-forget nature, multi-target capabilities, and high ammo capacity. I think the tradeoff of being far more efficient during ground-phase despite being potentially outmatched during the MQ-99(?, potentially MQ-101) spawns late mission is worth it. Mission 7: AA-heavy. Again, any fighter will work here; if anything, given the annoying currents present in the mission, an aircraft with AG weapons isn't a particularly bad choice, especially since boss AI and second-phase enemies aren't difficult at all; also consider the heavy cloud cover which weakens the PLSL and PLSL-Gun's potential. Mission 8: AG-heavy, if memory serves properly. In my opinion, given the chain reaction potential, PLSL is likely the best choice here, although XAGM is a worthy competitor during the second radar-goes-to-crap phase of the mission due to its dive up and dive down which may help for the last few trucks lurking in the valley. It's been a while, but I assume laser weapons are useless in the second phase due to the sandstorm. They will, however, be fairly useful against the large group of enemy aircraft that enters the airspace. Mission 9: My least favorite mission in the game, the ADF-11F's UAVs may actually be potentially useful against long-range targets that have angles too awkward for most missiles and special weapons to hit. However, the long-reload and single-target nature of the UAV makes it somewhat useless. Also, decent cloud cover that may impact the PLSL-Gun's effectiveness. My personal favorite aircraft is the F-35C with 8AAMs. Firing upwards will mitigate moments when the missiles hit terrain. Mission 10: Fairly easy AG first phase, with a slightly annoying AA boss second phase. I think the mission is fairly scripted for the most part, so I think most planes will be useful in this mission given that you probably can't really speedclear the first section. Given the ADF-10's high maneuverability, the ADF-11F with QAAMs/UAVs isn't a bad choice in this mission. This may potentially be one of the missions where it's notably superior. Mission 11: Slaughterhouse. PLSL is king; Su-57 is still a much more efficient point farmer. Mission 12: High amount of mandatory AG first-phase. Given that second-phase AA has way more optional targets, I usually ran a F-22A with XSDBs. Dummy-aimed spread bombs may be potentially useful given the ground targets' clustering. Mission 13: I think this was the nuke mission. MiG-31B is king here if you're going for the enemy ace. The ADF-11F has very high baseline stats overall so it may be almost as good. However, because the typical SP weapons aren't used in this mission, almost any aircraft is just as viable. Mission 14: I think this was the annoying ravine stealth flight. Some people have noted that the ADF-11F is very wide, so it may potentially be annoying when flying through the ravine. 60 AG, 40 AA mission, making the F-22A my favorite plane for this mission. Spread-bomb users are potentially quite good in this mission as well. Mission 15: Depending on where you decide to farm, different scenarios during the first phase are possible. Farming the left side of the mission will give you a fleet of enemy ships. The PLSL-Gun doesn't have enough range or damage to melt through the ships like the PLSL does. The PLSL will also do much better with the aircraft respawns on the right, although the ADF-11F can likely do almost just as well. The middle of the map is mostly spread-out AG. Tuga probably knows more about this mission than I do. Also I'm extremely sleep-deprived. Mission 16: Highly AG-heavy in my opinion. The XSDB is the best choice due to the large volume of ground-targets and its multi-target capability. Also I'm pretty sure the game complains if you kill yellow targets despite them usually being enemy spawns anyway. I may be wrong though. Mission 17: Leans slightly towards AA but has significant AG presence. Heavy cloud cover during the SSTO chase renders the PLSL and PLSL-Gun useless. I think the XSDB and PLSL are more efficient alternatives to the ADF-11F's PLSL-Gun and AA SP weapons. Mission 18: AG early phase, but AA second-phase/boss fight. Personally the X-02 with EML is my favorite to take down Sol Squadron quickly, but the ADF-11F can shine here. Just probably not as much as the EML or PLSL. Mission 19: Due to the sheer volume of enemies that are all AA, the ADF-11F truly shines the most in my opinion with its huge arsenal with access to the PLSL-Gun, missiles, and an AA-special weapon. Mission 20: Because the drones are scripted to have inhuman maneuverability, QAAMs/EML/PLSL should all be fairly useful in this level. That being said, I'm so sleep deprived that this part of my recap I'm rushing a bit to finish typing.
My review of the Raven: The Raven is that one plane you never thought you wanted or needed until you had it. The moment I found out about it, I thought to myself: "Meh, At least I'm gonna get the Morgan ... in 3 stinkin' months ... I guess it's not a complete waste of money". But boy was I pleasantly surprised. It has quickly become one of my favorite aircrafts in the Ace Combat franchise (Second only to the Morgan, Nothing tops that for me). I loved it so much, I decided to write a review for it. I've broken down my rating system into five different categories, Which are: Handling, Speed, Weapons, Coolness in concept, And Character. Handling: Definitely one of the best in the game. According to the stats, It's the best so far (There are videos of the FALKEN doing better, So the stats might not be that true). Still though, It's about as easy as it gets. Handling the aircraft is a pretty big deal when you play on higher difficulty settings, So keep this in mind. Despite its impressive size, The Raven is very easy to handle and you get the hang of it in a matter of seconds. And don't let the size fool you, It's just as good for flying into tunnels as any other aircraft. The handling is THAT easy. Overall score for handling: 4.5/5 Speed: It's fast enough for your need for speed, But it could do better. It's no MIG-31, And no one expects it to be, But it feels a little bit lacking compared with some other aircraft. I've seen F-15s reach higher speeds at faster rates. They had parts, But still, The fact that I could compare the Raven with the F-15 and see the latter come out on top is a disgrace to the Raven. In speed-based missions, This is not THE ideal choice. Let's just say that when it comes to speed, The Raven gets the job done and leave it at that. Overall score for speed: 4/5 Weapons: The TLS is about as good as it gets in this game, The QAAM is there for spamming, And the UAV is just ... it's cathartic. You would not believe how easy the game becomes once you start UAV-spamming your enemies. Considering the machine gun is replaced with a pulse laser, This is without a doubt the most overpowered aircraft in the game (so far). Weapons-wise, You could not get a better aircraft than the Raven. You might as well quit once you've tried the Raven, You've peaked. Overall score for weapons: 5/5 Coolness in concept: It's a manned version of a UAV that can dogfight better than any ace pilot in the world (Except every protagonist in every AC game, But you get the point). Not to mention it can learn the flying style of everything it comes across and become an even deadlier aircraft (In theory of course, Not in game). So ... Hell yeah, It's a cool concept! Overall score for coolness: 4.5/5 Character: This is where the Raven actually loses a couple of points for me. *Spoiler alert if you've never played the game... In which case I'd be left to wonder what you're doing here in the first place* Considering it's a new original aircraft and therefore never mentioned in any other game so far, There isn't that much build-up for the boss fight which introduces us to the "Character" so to speak. It's mentioned as "Those two drones" in some cutscenes, And it's mentioned that they have Mihaly's data. Aside from that, Nothing. You just learn that "There exist two new drones which probably fly like Mihaly". That's it. That's totally fine, It's just that I didn't know why I should fear the Raven until around the second minute of the fight and until I was halfway out of missiles. You'll have to wait until you see them for yourself. Which brings me to my second point. The schematics for the aircraft are shown in an earlier cutscene. The moment you lay your eyes upon it, You'll most likely think to yourself "Bargain bin FALKEN". It includes Belkan technology, So it makes sense, But that's just it. Appearance-wise, It's a discount FALKEN if I ever saw one. It fails to establish itself as a brand new aircraft, Thereby losing character points. Another point to mention is the cockpit view. It doesn't have one. Just a bluer shade of the HUD view. Being a noob, I mostly use the third person camera view, But a cockpit view would have been nice. And the final point is that it doesn't have a pilot. The Morgan had Pixy, The Nosferatu had Pasternak, They all had a strong character tied to them (Even if in the case of the latter I personally think the character was wasted). The Raven does not. Being piloted completely by AI, It loses yet another character point because it doesn't have a distinguished pilot. Imagine if Mihaly was the pilot, That would have been awesome for the Raven and would have definitely earned it a character point (And it would also have ruined the epic boss fight in mission 18, But I'm only talking about the Raven here). Overall score for character: 2/5 Overall score: 4/5 It's a fantastic aircraft that deserves so much love and truly belongs in the hall of fame of Ace Combat original aircraft, Among the greats such as the FALKEN, The Morgan, And the Nosferatu. Buy it. If you're a long time Ace Combat fan, You will not be disappointed. If you're new to the franchise, This is an excellent way to experience the true core of the game and the franchise. It's a win-win in every sense of the phrase.
