  Played this as a kid, got it for nostalgia's sake. The full game can get a bit repetitive, including the graphics and music, but it's fun enough. It's probably pretty good for actually teaching maths to kids, or a refresher if like me you're an adult who isn't very good at maths - I put it on the highest age setting and practised my times tables!

  I do not have kids. I was raised with this game. Why do I have 20+ hours? The same Reason I will soon own the other "Rescue" game Word Rescue SPEEDRUNNING. I have 20 hours in this game solely due to routing, reducing times, and acquiring initial and proper World Records. I have put 20 hours into this game to beat it as fast as possible. 20 hours in a game for kids to teach them math, where I don't even do the math. Cause you can turn it off. only within the last 6 hours of play time have I swapped to controller cause MY HAND. Dosbox allows you to bind controller inputs to keyboards keys 10/10 will continue to speedrun

  I grew up playing this game in the 90s and it helped me a lot with my mental math. I am happy I can use it now to help my kids do the same!

  You have to do maths by solving grammatically incorrect word problems, whilst a green phallus with butterfly wings dumps fecal matter on your enemies. 4+1 stars out of 5.

  I got this game on sale in a bundle that basically made it 99 Cents. I have 2 first graders, and one 3rd grader in the house and the game worked very well for all of them as you can set the levels to be addition, subtraction, multiplying or division. You can also set the problems to be all number problems, all word problems, or half and half. Very good options for allowing kids to practice on their skill level. It also saves a players name so you can go back with logging in with that name. For a 25 year old game, it did it's job of letting my kids practice math and have fun. One of my kids that hates doing math home work at the table played this fo 2 hours strait and I could see her getting better at figuring out what a word problem was asking. So if you are thinking about picking this game up on sale for kids to play it holds up well and honestly seems to be much better than the word rescue game (but I only tried the first level of that one and felt it was very basic with picture matching, where this game let me set the difficulty to the child) So is it worth $20, no way. But it is one of those perfect games to pick up for $1 or so.

  It's a very fun MS-DOS Childhood game of mine for Kids & Adults alike to play. The Gruzzles are up to no good again. This time around, they're stealing all the world's numbers leaving Street Signs, Checkbooks & other Number Resources Blank! Benny Butterfly needs your help once more to slime the Gruzzles & reclaim all the world's stolen numbers. Both Word Rescue & Math Rescue are excellent choices for younger children... though us older kids will still find them entertaining. They are difficult to keep playing. There's an Alternate Version of this game called "Math Rescue Plus" on the Redword Games Homepage for about $??... (ARGH!!! Not again! You Gruzzles are ASKING for it! *pulls out Wii Light Gun & about 30 Seconds later...* That does it.) $30.

  You are the sole survivor of a horrific nuclear accident that has caused everyday objects like springs, noses and dildos to come to life as horrifying disfigured creatures bent on stealing earths numbers. Armed only with some trash can lids and a vague understanding of basic arithmetic you set about righting the wrongs of these terrifying beings. Alongside you is your trusty drug induced hallucination, a butterfly with hand and human eyes who dumps his load on unsuspecting Gruzzles. The gameplay is intense and fastpaced, revolving around thieving popular childrens items such as crayons, yachts and watermelon. Overall the game is good, but not suited to children due to the dark themes and complex mathematical equations. 4.5/5 - 'Almost perfect.'
