  This add-on route for TS2017 looks good on the outside, but looks can be decieving. Playing this is like taking a huge leap back to the days of Microsoft Train Simulator. The outside of the locomotive is actually very detailed and well done, which makes it all the more surprising that when you step into the cab, you're greeted by blocks and pixels, hard to read needles in the guages and all together bland colors. Very disappointing. The sounds are just as bad. They are the stock sounds we've all come to know (and probably all hate by now) from the beginning of this game. It sounds as bland and lifeless as it can sound, and don't get me started on all the rolling stock on the route. They might aswel be big boxes (or planks for flatbeds) on wheels, painted in the most monotone colors imaginable. A silver lining is that the route itself and the surroundings are actually pretty well made. It is a beautiful route, but the quality of this add-on is far from what is being released in recent times. I bought this add-on, because it is a steam locomotive add-on, and I'm such a fan of steam that I'll by it just because it is what it is. So if you just want to add a new steam locomotive to your collection, by all means buy it! But if you're looking for a quality made add-on, you're better off somewhere else.

  Woods, woods and againwoods. If you are into monotony and loves to bore you, this is a must. If not, then do not waste your money.

  yes the loco is dissapointing, but the route.... WOW really nicely done and a real challenge to drive. Locomotive 4/10 route 8/10

  I have only just bought the route as originally I felt the locomotive looked like it had an MSTS type texture. I was mistaken, now that I have the route I have found the locomotive looks to be far, far better. How one can be mistaken by looking at other peoples screen shots. Then again I am now playing with a good rig and have the graphics wound up fully and I have noticed an improvement in colours with the 64bit set-up on other routes. If you like steam locomotives and wonderfull scenery, then I can recommend this route.

  Yeah, I bought this for the unique steam loco which is moderately okay. The route is actually well done, but there are VAST amounts of free running woods between any stops or signs of civilization. I don't like huge, long boring freight routes, and this sort of qualifies in that category. But if you just want to relax and run real long trips, this route does look and perform well.

  This is a very good South African route, the scenery is awesome and very similar to the environment in this area where the route is build. This is a true South African route that I enjoy thoroughly and recommend. The route is challenging and this makes it well worth it.

  More of the same. (Pietermaritzburg and Mossel Bay) Not worth a purchase. Just really bad on all levels.

  The Outeniqua Choo Tjoe Route add on is absolutely incredible by all means. Me, a huge Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe fan, was quite surprised for the quality of the route and the rolling stock. Unfortunately there are some down sides to this add-on. The sounds of the steam locomotive is really basic. Based on what I've heard in real life the whistle does not sound like that. Another thing to add is the driving cab. The cab is absolutely horrendous. It's not realistic at all, it looks like something out of 2006 or 2007. If the ride were to be more pleasant and fun at least make a more realistic looking cab interior. Overall it's a great addon. Some features of the locomotive has to be updated. If your into the route is suggest buying it. If your into the train model. cab etc. etc. I don't suggest buying it. Thanks. ~ChoeTjoeVantage
