  Game is flawed but very alright, I recommend it. It's very innovative thanks to thier new mechanics. Junction system was a pain at beginning due to lack of GFs, which means not enough stats junctions available also gaining magic to boost your stats took long since monsters refused to drop items that were speeding up this process, after getting more GFs, Junctions became quite fun, especially when at a bit higher average level started to drop those items that could be converted into magic. In late-game when end-game magic became much more common, you could get yourself absolutely overpowered easily no much effort. Characters in this game aren't too flashy, lacks character development and progression (whole Irvine personality can be expressed in like 3 emojis:🤠😏😔), but there's something special about them. I think this is the first FF game where you get multiple options available to pick in text-boxes that alternates the cutscenes giving this game replayability and that's gotta be my favorite aspect of the game. I'm interested how those options I haven't picked could affect the scene, love the idea you could send different characters to certain places and their interactions would be completely different. There's nothing much that can be said about Squall, in my opinion he's a very underrated protagonist, personally at some point quite relatable even. Story of first 2 discs is very good. Very briefly explaining, spoilers ahead; party have one goal; stop/destroy Sorceress which was quite a long and interesting process. Then in disc 3 bizarre plot twists happens, suddenly we learn that Sorceress that commited murder publicly isn't bad person, she's just possessed by another Sorceress, then going to space to save wife, then some time travel and we're pretty much at final battle. Game feels incredibly fast paced. What I dislike absolutely the most about FF8 is it's horrible villain. Just some random Sorceress with no backstory that wants to destroy everything just because she's evil, there's no clear explaination why, she's more of a plot device than a villain really. She barely get any screentime in whole game, maybe appeared like 2 times in cutscenes if I remember correctly, then just final battle. Seifer character was completely wasted. He deserved much more than he get, there was potential to make him the true antagonist in the game instead of being just Ultimecia helper, he even had more screentime and development. There are just two more problems I see in this game. First one being Odin system activating very randomly, could be skipped, not a big deal. And other one is more devastating and as I am aware FF9 suffers same fate. In disc 4 when you leave final dungeon, EVERY TOWN IS BECOMING LOCKED PERMANENTLY. Since that was my very first playthrough I did missed a lot because of it. I spent long hours in Triple Triad, and at very end I couldn't even collect last remaining cards because of it. About cards; Triple Triad for me is only fun when you erase all those horrible rules from whole world; mainly "Random", "Plus", "Same". Keep in mind this version of FF8 have more achievements than Remastered version, and those achievements take long to unlock, I mean REALLY LONG, and few can be permanently skipped.

  Final Fantasy 8 was my first game of the final fantasy series.I absolutely loved this game and it made wanna play all the other games of the series (from 1 to 10 at least since i really liked the old style turn based system).This game is still one of my favorites . Altough i was so excited that it was released onto Steam i was a bit disappointed that they quality of the sound was still no match for the ps1 one (although there are some fixes out there that deal with this problem, I still think that SQUARE ENIX should have taken care of these issues before releasing the game). Overall Final Fantasy 8 is still a very good classic game.

  Покупая эту версию готовьтесь к тому, что надо будет немного повозиться с модами. Как минимум, для комфорта нужно будет поставить RaW мод заменяющий музыку и дальше делать на своё усмотрение. Dualshock 3 под управлением SCP работает, управление только стиком, но нужно дополнительно накинуть мод заменяющий иконки кнопок (для этого тоже нужен RaW мод). На самом деле восьмая часть финальной фантазии крайне спорная. Она до безобразия медленная, геймплейная часть с здешними ГФами, рисованием скиллов с самого начала вызывает много вопросов, визуальный стиль с "реалистичными" модельками как-то совершенно не впечатляет, наряду с слишком минималистичным подходом к интерфейсу, да и главный герой явно у кого-то будет вызывать отвращение своим "я хочу быть один, оставьте меня в покое, бла бла бла" (несмотря на то, что он по мере прохождения всегда развивается и сильнее раскрывается). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2902437671 И как бы парадоксально это не звучало - игра начинает нормально раскрываться лишь к концу первого диска. Конечно, всё это время интересно наблюдать за сюжетом, подходом к миссиям, но как сказано в начале - медленные битвы, а то есть загрузка боя, пролёт камеры по полю, и само сражение, в паре с ГФами - механикой слияния магии в статы, слишком долгими анимациями ввиду важности их урона на начальных этапах - просто выбивают из колеи. Но стоит с этим разобраться и игра начинает пестрить красками во всех планах, особенно учитывая что это, можно сказать, единственная часть в серии (после первой), где мир действительно открытый. С самого начала второго диска открывается возможность летать по миру и можно посетить все места, что есть на карте и пройти тамошние второстепенные задания, за исключением одного города открывающегося исключительно по сюжету, и пары опциональных локаций. И что меня удивило больше всего - эта часть куда лучше передаёт...как бы это сказать........дух финальной фантазии, что ли, чем те же 7 или 9 части, и уж тем более те что идут дальше. Своими персонажами, их действиями. Пытаясь подавать мрачный лор, сюжет, сценарист совершенно не забывает о том, чтобы герои были живыми, запоминающимися и весёлыми, как то было в 4-6 частях. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2902555579 Есть ещё здесь такая "проблема", как авто-левелинг, хотя для меня это и вовсе, извиняюсь за тавтологию, не проблема. Бестиарий здесь слишком маловат, однако враги с каждым вашим повышенным уровнем повышают свои статы. Из этого выходит ситуация, в которой "низкоуровневые" бесы не будут наносить вам урона из-за своей силы уже достаточно скоро, однако вам придётся их дольше убивать. Но это играет в плюс в отношении боссов. Формально, не разобравшись в механиках игры, - вы не сможете перекачаться и все боссы будут доставлять одинаковое количество проблем, а если прийти на финального босса имея у героев 100 уровень - вас будет ждать напряженная битва, которую также просто можно проиграть. И ради этого боя, лично я, могу простить цирк с автолевелингом, потому что The Extreme просто лучшая боевая тема во всей серии. Многие хейтят эту часть, и я понимаю за что, но для меня она по итогу стала любимейшей (после 6) из девяти пройденных. Она завлекла приятной, хоть и с некоторыми дырами, историей, мрачной, меланхоличной и успокаивающей музыкой, своим подходом к второстепенным активностям и, что самое главное, - своей душой. P.S. Купил я её для того чтобы выбить все ачивки, но начав этим заниматься я понял насколько это было ошибочным решением. Всё было бы ничего, если бы не достижение "Убейте 10000 врагов" и "Получите 100 уровень в Мире Чокобо" (к слову это прикольно что они запихнули его сюда, но как оказалось это скучная херня). С таким подходом придётся оооочень долго гриндить втыкая в потолок, что не есть круто.
