  Single player goes down with server maintenance. Single player is monitored by anti-cheat. At least a few people have had issues being able to join their own dedicated server when running on the same machine since June and no response from the devs nor any instructions on how to solve it in their guide. My Ark server works just fine but not this game. You can not create a non-dedicated server. Game is not bad, but these stupid design choices and lack of custom server support make it difficult to recommend.

  Do NOT buy this game unless you prefer to play single player. Game is extremely broken in PVP. On the official pvp server 1 group of 4 people just dominate and raid everyone. No chance for anyone to fight back. Anyone who tries to rebuild they just drive the car to the new building anywhere on the map and rocket their base down. Do NOT waste your money here, the servers will be dead soon because of this. Find a new game to put your money in, whoever designed the PVP aspect of this game should be fired. They made it where on the first day the game comes out the first group who gets rockets ends up controlling the server.

We also need to keep in mind that similar games like Rust did not become what they are today overnight, takes time and improvement, as well as a player base to keep the funds going and developer motivation. Experienced just 1-2 bugs so far, (Played for like an hour or so) but generally is very neatly done. I would most certainly recommend this game.

  Love hate abusive relationship?

  I really have mixed feelings. As much as I spent over 1K hours in the game and became world top number 3 - I would not recommend game in current state. I mean the price is bargain, if you want to jump, get couple hours of PVE fun... Its rough diamond, just some of the recent patches and additions to the game and also developers communication, lead me to really bitter feelings. Long term cheater and exploit abuse problems. You could say that most FPS games have these kinds of issues. All that matters is the Dev approach. In this game its represented by short, inadequate I would even say, lack of punishment towards individuals. But dare you mention that there is a problem with individual and his behaviour. Discord rules will be bent and used against you. Lets cover that up. And yeah, well, your bases got removed by exploits and hacks abusing groups who can see everything on map? Group that builds on areas that does not allow building, ie. sea floor and walks under map? Did the exploiters clip through all the locked doors and destroyed your core? So you mean that "you dont like their gameplay"? Chalk it up to experience and go play something else. Early acess and pains of unfinished games. Dysterra is in Early Acess couple years. I give the DEVS that they try to push minor patches every week. However some of these changes are just head scratching. You must question the sanity of such decisions. Newly added: PVP player with hammer will remove weeks of your progress and base you spent your soul building. Building is extremely bad. Whether the major patch on end of this month will decrease or remove pain of inability to build proper bases - that remains to be seen. If you like to grind roller skating zig zaging mobs which you need to kill by thousands to level up and gain mats, then you really like sensation of pain. Hop in. Non existent support or content for solo players. Dysterra aims to be a MMORPG within survival FPS looter shooter base builder setting, with huge oversized areas and vast map with limited means of transport (three types of cars). Unfortunately it is not something that is well enjoyed by individuals, solos. Mobs, bosses, facilities, elite units soaks exorbitant amount of damage. Overcome them by numbers - oh wait, you are solo. Well bad luck. You are going to have hard time. There is a clan system expected in future , but it will not really help, usual PVP Dysterra server with 10 or less people. Whom cant even agree to team up as solo seems to be most prefered way of playing. PVE is more favored, sometimes up to 40 or more players. Overcomplicated, grindy and time demanding. If you sit for 14 ish hours straight, you can get up to purple gear and weapons. However if we talk about PVP & finishing base to prevent low effort raids, perhaps some material processing forges, miners - you are looking at days, if not weeks of grinding things over and over. Major point of complaints. Teams of people are having it better, but mostly solo players will face overly complicated recipes, need to endlessly grind and even when everything is done, you still need to put in time to defend against raids and keep the core energy maintenance. Energy consumption is awful and most fully upgraded bases cannot have energy upkeep for longer than 22 hours. Unless you of course turn off all material procesing whiching hinders and stops your progress. If you join PVE server, you will likely hit a transmission limit of 750K points, nolifers about week, other people within month. Thats the end of game for you, join another server and begin all the circle of endless grind again. Final thoughts. Game is an absolute roller coaster. Recently very negative, overall, well depending on people you fight against (cheaters, exploiters) or sound lasses and lads who honors gentlemen agreements and avoid backstabing. Community and playerbase is very small, most of the people will leave game after some hours. Devs approach appears to be throw thing on a wall and see if it sticks. Price is bargain and future, unfortunately uncertain.

  First of all: don't listen some bad reviews about the game, it's alwas "the game crashes" (people with potato pc talking trying to run the game on ultra) some people also just mad because an alpha state of the game that they have played, also some people just don't know what is early access, so discard reviews like that ok? they always ruin the game, same persons that play another games that are really boring and have nothing but still playing since god knows when but like to complain and ruin everything To the point: The game came with a good price, accessible, and it's a lot of fun, some mechanics still need to improve and could add more objectives, but the game is really good. The AI is not the best but also i hope they fix them with some updates. PvP is not my style of play for games with base building but looks great. I've playing for some hours and haven't find bugs yet. For an Early Access Game this game it's already promising. For the Devs: there are some games in the style that the developers abandoned and could have a bright future, don't do the same, even with players who don't like the style and try to ruin it for those who do. addition that I think would be good: 1- An AI pet would be really cool, everyone likes robots. 2- A motorcycle.   DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ON THIS HALF @$$ED PRODUCT!!!! Definitely the worst survival game I've ever played and quite literally the worst game I've ever wasted time on. The game strives to be a survival game when the only survival aspect is your food meter, but don't worry there's absolutely no scarcity in food as human kind is constantly sending earth limitless cans of beans. Other than that you have multiple negative effects such as, hypothermia, overheating, radiation, bleeding, and others just to name a few. All which of course can bee fixed by injecting yourself with terrasite. Which is apparently a cure all and the savior/destroyer of humankind??? So whatever, the game isn't very realistic at all when it comes to survival. How's the base building? There must be raiding, right? Oh, there is if you can call it that. Imagine this a wall has 10k health, and your bullets do 1-2 damage to buildings and even turrets(which with a recent update, can kill you almost instantly in the games' best armor) Apparently the dev's want everyone to use rocket launchers to raid which there are two of and both are the top tier weapons in the game. The other two options are blast mines which cost an unreasonable amount of mats and do a whopping 150 damage. let's remember a tier one wall has 5k health. That is 33 mines to raid a sh!t shack. Finally, you have bullets. Yes, that's right. You too can enjoy shooting bullets at a building at point blank range while strafing back and forth for hours. Oh, but let's not forget the pvp. This game's one redeeming quality. Oh, wait what pvp? 1-2 players a server. Nice! oh, I'm sorry the European pve and pvp server have 5-10. Kinda odd thou how the entire principle of the game is that it wipes in a week's time frame, yet neither of these servers seem to wipe. Let's not forget they're literally the only busy servers and every player on these servers are running around in meta gear. Yeah, this game totally doesn't cater to certain kind of player base. not at all. And don't even get me started on their durability system. Die once and there's a good chance everything on your person is broken. But just take a guess at what happens if a piece of armor breaks. Does it stay on you, but have no armor value? Does it go into your inventory as an unusable item kinda like the guns? Best guess again. That sh!t straight disappears from your inventory like it never existed. Could've been legendary armor and it's gone! It makes me laugh how in a stream on the lead dev's was surprised all, literally all, of his legendary armor was about to break after just one death which was a team kill. So if you have the patience of a saint or are just a glutton for punishment you might enjoy Dysterra. DO NOT WASTE A SINGLE DOLLAR ON THIS PIECE OF TRASH!!!!! THIS PRODUCT WOULDN'T EVEN BE WORTH DOWNLOADING IF IT WAS FREE!

  I had played the during the free events, and while the game had it's ups and downs, I thought "Meh, it's Early Access, they'll come around and fix this." Far from it. They managed to build upon the games' weaknesses and successfully expanded on just about all of the bad aspects. It's still using all the cheap tricks to force you to play regularly (char starves while you're offline, etc.). They also just assume they can take all your data and don't mention it until AFTER you bought the game. AFAIK this is illegal in some countries, but even if not - it's immoral nonetheless. Tell me upfront what I'll be paying and getting and don't come up with extras AFTER I already gave you my money. This game and the company is shady bs all around, so I wholeheartedly advise you to steer clear of this. In response to the developer: Your license agreement talks about things like OS and hardware specs. Also, why do you require me to read and accept yet another license agreement AFTER I bought the game? I don't want you to collect ANY data from me or my machine. Not even what hardware I'm using. I would have been open to opting in to allow you to collect this data if you had asked me and had given me a choice. But hitting me with a wall of legal text after I bought the game, giving me no option but to either accept or not be able to play the game is coercion, not getting consent. What makes you think this kind of behaviour was acceptable? I mean, how would you react if you bought groceries, paid, but before you can leave someone takes the bag and says "Hey, first you need to give me all your customer data, where you live, why you bought those products, etc. Otherwise we can't let you leave this store"? I'd really like to know what the justification behind that is. Why can't you get that out of the way *before* the sale? And as to the shortcomings of the game: As stated above, hunger deteriorates while players are offline. Buildings deteriorate while players are offline. Why? There are very little to no gains in gameplay dynamics. It does force player interaction on a regular basis though. Sunk cost fallacy. If you don't want to loose your investment, you can't take off too much time. This becomes especially ridiculous in single player mode. Why punish people who only have the time to play every now and then? Overall, this makes me feel like you couldn't care less about your players.

  Game still has a long ways to go. Damage Balance is out. People using cheats are everywhere. Enemies respawn extremely fast.

  I decided to get this game against the bad reviews and I can say the game runs well and most of the complaints people have against the game have been fixed the only thing i can say bad about it is the lack of other players in PvP.
