DETECTION COVERAGE OF THE MEXICAN SEISMIC ALERT SYSTEM (SASMEX):

SASMEX's detection coverage, with 96 seismic sensors, covers the most active seismic region of the country along the Pacific Ocean and the neovolcanic axis, in the states of Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán Guerrero, Oaxaca and Puebla.

ANTICIPATION TIME:

SASMEX considers the opportunity time to be the time interval between the moment the population hears the official seismic alert sound and the moment the earthquake reaches the alerted locality in the seismic phases of greatest intensity. This anticipation time will depend on the distance between the place where the earthquake starts and the location of the user to be alerted.
