  Summary: Brain meltdown in a super atmospheric puzzle platformer 🤯 ROTA is a game where your character can rotate the world by walking around the edges. Jumping over edges won't rotate the world. This concept sounds very simple on paper, but the developer applied this concept in so many creative ways and created fantastic challenges behind each of the game's doors. Add some spike traps and moveable boxes to the formula and the puzzles are now really tricky and challenging. I liked that the platforming aspect is not overly complex, you don't have to worry about "making the jump" or complex timing. So exploration and solving the levels is never hectic, I always played at my own pace. This whole calming mood is supported by the cool music and ambient sounds. It creates a chill atmosphere where I could easily relax (while my brain was steaming). In each level, there is a gem that you need to collect to complete it and that counts towards a global counter of said gems. The gems are used to unlock new doors, featuring new game worlds behind them. The different worlds are vibrant and cute giving off a nice vibe and the worlds also introduce new game mechanics and features. The difficulty curve is really good, although some levels were particularly hard and made me scratch my head. On the other hand, the dopamine kicked in super hard when I finally managed to beat the level! 😁 I absolutely recommend giving ROTA a try, it's a super interesting concept and the game is overall perfectly executed.

  Just wow, this puzzle game is great! The concept may seem simple, but the developer managed to make some really nice puzzles with the mechanics. Art is simple, cute and charming, and the music fits perfectly witht he mood. Some of the puzzles really made my brain bleed. Super recommended.

  Played in one big chunk until I hit a wall somewhere in the second desert section. Enjoyable for the most part, but I felt like the it kept repeating scenarios a little too often, a real sense of deja vu. Each puzzle is essentially two parts, get to the pick up & leave. Most levels are small in terms of the size, but the number of actions/movements you'll need to perform increase as the game goes on. This is worth mentioning because there's no Undo function. At the beginning, there's no boxes, so there's never an issue. However as the number of boxes goes up so does the potential number of points to mess up, so I end up scratching my chin, staring at the screen pontificating about what to do instead of wanting to experiment and try out thing due to needing to re-set everything up again. It probably won't be an issue for some, but it brought progress to a screeching halt for me.

  I'm super impressed with how far the main concept of this game can be stretched. While two levels may look similar, each has a new concept to learn, and may play completely different from the last. In the later levels it can be frustrating to bump into a spike hiding under a block, mess up a jump, or otherwise lock yourself out of being able to complete the puzzle because you'll have to start from scratch. This made me hesitant to try new things, or go for jumps that later turned out to be the correct move. A quick save feature similar to Portal 2's would be fantastic for exploring new ideas, and locking in parts of the solution that are understood. Despite my complaints, I loved this game and think it's 100% worth the $10.

  It's a cozy little puzzle game up until you get to level 35 when things start to get difficult. My only gripe is I can't seem to find any walk-through online, so I am up to 4 puzzles I have just outright skipped because I can't figure 'em, out. I also had seen the last achievement is to beat the game in an hour, meaning you have to average at most 1 minute per puzzle. I don't think I'm going to 100% this game anytime soon, but that's a me-problem.
