  I will describe my experience in 3 sections: Bad things: - a very cut-through story telling; - a strange keymapping (sprint on CTRL, noice) - some characters had luck of story - locations, gamedesign is strange Middle one: - a nice graphics, not a junk with different textures scaling - a main story, not awesome or "WOW", but still a simple one Good one: - AI, its not Halo at all, but still a good lvl. Enemies know, what is a suppressive fire and will change their location sometimes - enemies development - gameplay (shooter with a break for puzzles) - bosses - main character development - atmosphere (good ambient music, with a good design of everything) Also, if you played Warframe before, than it will be much more interesting for you, with some easter eggs here and there. It's a short, but interesting experience (fills like Dead Space with elements from Warframe and Gears of War). I gave it a try and I loved it)

  Great game ! + The ragdolls are hilarious sometimes + Pistol and shotgun feels amazing + Fun gameplay, movement and combat + When you die you fall like a wooden plank, looking like you fell asleep on the spot - A bit dated perhaps + but still a fun game to experience - Dont play on Keyboard and mouse, use a controller Can strongly recommend it.

  A rather good story of its time, the progress of how from a normal human Hayden slowly evolves to the end game character shows how much the story was thought out. The combat system works really well too, the glaive directional controls to the 2 handed combat with the throw star and a gun, it was just awesome.

  So as far as I can see this is an über console game that barely made it to PC. Things you need to do; go to your Configs folder under your Dark Sector install directory and edit DS.cfg and place under , Graphics.DisplayAspectRatio=FullScreen4x3, next you are going to want to enable outbound anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing plus a sharpening filter either in your drivers or an injector, now lastly, you want to realize that this game will not scale above 2048x1152 or your screen will either look wonky or the game will crash during cut-scenes. I don't recommend playing this game without post-processing even though you will see what I tend to consider minor graphical artifacts 'only in certain scenarios', not game breaking cause they are translucent and easy to overlook, plus the game overall looks much better with post-processing on. I know it is less than ideal but this is a really cool game worth experiencing and it came from a golden era of gaming. The development decisions were kind of interesting as it seems to actually render in 4:3 but proportionally spans correctly across 16:9. Fun fact, you will see an adversary that is absolutely seminal to Warframe --which I just am not into but this game was a vector of creativity that lead to that IP. Maybe get it when it is super cheap? I did not mind spending $10 dollars for it, in all honesty it was worth that alone to tinker with, now I have it running and am playing the game. Pretty cool.

  I really appreciate everything the Digital Extremes do. It's one of the few companies out there that loves what they do and are always trying to make it right. It makes me, as a Graphic Designer, want to work for them. Dark Sector may be a simple game for many. But, it played a big part for what Warframe is today. Years of evolution and hard work for what you do and love is and always will be something special and must be appreciated. Purchasing and then playing Dark Sector is one of my ways to demonstrate my support for Digital Extremes.
