+First Edit. Nothing like the trailers -Sadly the game is poorly optimized, it is basically a bad port. +I maintain this one, trailers look cleaner and smoother, graphics on this game don't look very "next gen" to me. -Graphics are not as great as they show them in the video trailers. +Again they are not, as I said below and before it looks like they were downgraded to match ps5 users. -the way they handle cut scenes disabling your mouse is annoying and cut scenes also stutter a lot. +This is not a technical thing, but is annoying as all hell, there is free roam and "exploration", but there are also part of the game where instead of showing you 1 cu scene they play 5 in a row, why? you can achieve the same with just a long one. -The bracelet is the most annoying thing, talks a lot, and I mean A LOT!. +Thanks to the several people comments I turned all the way done this annoying guy, still talks quite a bit but is better now. -they seem to think is a great idea to freeze you in place while the bracelet is saying some stuff that is supposed to be "meaningful" +This will keep on happening several times, no way around it. -it is a great idea poorly executed. +The game has some "unique visuals" and the parkhour is cool, but that is all, writing is not good sadly, and the story is not bad but is just the way they decided to tell it that doesn't hit you. -NEW THINGS NOTICED- -The voice acting is bad, this game have really bad voice acting, there is no feeling from it, the characters feel empty and just there for the sake of an annoying cut scene. -The dips are still there even after updating to the latest nvidia drivers, and even removing RT it does help and you can feel the difference. people joking about the state of it vs cyberpunk and this one being newer, graphics are nowhere near as good, and I can run psycho mode in cyberpunk without a sweat and no dips on 1440p. I am playing on a ryzen 7950x and a RTX 4080, with a 3440x1440 predator g-sync monitor. and again is not the best game graphically to me appears like a shitty downgrade in graphics to match up the maximum of what a PS5 can do. gives out a vibe of watchdogs 1 when they were releasing the trailers vs the released game. +This one I still maintain is like a watchdogs downgrade, regarding my rig setting, sadly forspoken does not show you your graphics card while in the settings like other games, but you can go to my public screenshots for this game and see the config and how I play it. I would advise not to purchase this game if you want to play the game properly, better wait for it to be polished, because it is a disaster. +Yes the game is not on its best state and I would still say to not buy it if you don't want to deal with the unoptimized mess, there are full gameplays of the game I advise to go look at those during combats like the first one with the dragon and see the graphics, almost all gameplay is from PS5 sadly so mmm is not the same.

Main character just swears non stop. unlikable. World looks so dull and ugly The parkour is fun but very finicky Combat is meh story is lame the entire game feels so uninspired. LOCKING CHARACTER CONTROL DURING CONVERSATIONS SO IM FORCED TO STAND THERE LISTENING INSTEAD OF MOVING TO NEXT LOCATION. All for 105$ MAPLE BUX! Maybe on a DEEP sale but not at FUCKING PREMIUM PRICE. Ive been begging for a good mage game. I was even willing to pay the premium 105$ price tag but this game is NOT worth the inflated price! Especially since Hogwarts Legacy is coming out in less than 2 weeks and its only 70$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not even make it to the gameplay, 30 minutes in, because there were just issues. Performance - With a 2070 super and i7-11700k, 32GB RAM on an NVMe SSD, this was running badly at even medium settings. Visuals - Inconsistent. Sometimes looks *fine* but not amazing, other times looks like a Sims 2 game. Writing - WOW I don't even know where to begin. Bad character writing, bad storytelling, even worse foreshadowing. Oh look the favourite character's book is Alice in Wonderland isn't that clever writing? No. It isn't. I can see why people are talking bad about this game and I am intrigued to see what others think of it, but damn I cannot stand this.

Of the first 71 minutes of "game time" most of it has been "you have to walk really slowly because of " or cutscene. Of the cut scenes, two of them were narratively important. The rest were "that last cutscene, yeah, we're just going to drill that point home because you're idiots." I want the first two hours of the game to be *two hours of game play*. So that I can decide if I want to play the game or get a refund. Now, 74 minutes into the game and *still* not having access to the actual gameplay part of the game I'm inclined to refund it because the ratio of agency to cutscene is atrocious. Having given the game another 25 mintues, I have requested a refund. Because it was another 25 minutes of cutscene and slow walking

This game has an awful lot of good things about it... or it would if they just put a bit more effort in. The whole thing feels like the basic idea was great but then they handed it to the intern to sort out. In brief: Combat is terrible. You circle an enemy hitting the "attack" magic until it goes to attack you... then you hit the dodge magic button and continue on attacking. Animations are poor, the main character runs... oddly? Not sure how to describe it but it's like her spine doesn't move, it's either bolt upright or at an angle, she doesn't bend it like a human does. UNTIL that is, when it's time for her to fight in which case she hunches over like a witch at a cauldron and jerks her right hand back and forth with each attack. That's the only animation for attacking, by the way, the one flinging, jerking, motion. There's no spins, no difference in movement if the enemy is close or far... just the one attack move until you feel sick. Graphics are... middling I'd say? If you came up to me two or three years ago and showed me what this game looked like, I'd be fine with it. Not over the moon, but happy. Open world is bleak to say the least. I mean, in the story it's meant to be bleak, fine, but the first zone is just dry, brown, shrubland and grey cliffs. It didn't invite me to explore, there was nothing to really do there, just different points on the map (Pre marked, so no need to go searching!) that you touched and it gave you a thing. No parkour challenges, no climbing puzzles. I came across a place which I seem to recall was called the "Sealed Labyrinth" or something similar. It wasn't a labyrinth and it was barely sealed. I walked in, there was a hallway... then a fighting arena... then a hallway... another fight... another hallway... a boss. At no point did I feel engaged by the story, it simply failed to hook me. The main character is actually rather good, decently voice acted compared to the rest of the cast but there was a point where they needed a plot hook to get her to do something and they did the usual thing of killing off a character to make her go on a revenge thing. A character the protagonist had had two conversations with and barely knew. I turned off at this point. In summary: For this price point I'd want some actual real work done by the devs. Every single part of this game feels half-a**ed. At this price point I'd want to see some love put into it but this is probably the most paint-by-numbers game I've seen in years.

I didn't know how disappointed I could be in a brand new video game until I got Forspoken. A litany of problems, none of which are minor, adding up to a half baked poorly executed game. For a game that's supposedly been in production for years, its offputtingly lackluster especially for a 70$ price tag. Cons: *2 hour long prologue consisting of endless dialog with little to no interaction, but somehow also lacking the vivid cutscenes of games like final fantasy. And after seeing how bad this game is, it feels intentional to deny refunds. Cant tell if the game is bad if you don't get to play it for 2 hours! *Movement and combat are both extremely clunky. Plays like it wants to mix freestyle acrobatics and hack/slash, but never got around to installing either. For example: Parkour mechanic consists of a sprint and a jump until many hours into the game. The sprint is difficult to control and if you step over a pebble, the character flings itself over a mountain of its own accord. Which is weird because in the prologue you get a short parkour escape run and it was actually decent. It just sucks after that. *Story seems decent but instead of being explained through the many voiced dialog scenes, all the meat and potatoes are log book items you have to read on your own. I got half an hr of a talking bracelet shooting the shit, but cant get 30 seconds of storybook time to explain the core story taking place. A 10 minute 'burn the witch!' scene but learning about how the corruption happened, and the nations all powerful leaders, happens in a lame series of logbook entries. *There might be a memory leak! The longer I play the game the more it frame stutters and eventually it crashes. I run a watercooled 3080 12gb with 64gb ram on an I9 processor, that I built myself. So no, its not my hardware. So I don't even get to find out what the first major boss is like! *The world is empty. Seriously. Sparsely positioned trash mob combats, some chests, and rest spots. Throw in a statue that boosts stats and a 4 minute gauntlet in each area. Well done, minecraft has more variety. Which is sad because the enemies look fantastic! I know this seems like a harsh condemnation for a game just released. But upcharge me 70$, delay the game for months quoting 'improvements' with Luminous Productions having the resources to make a fantastic game, and there are zero reasons this shouldn't have been a triple A title. Instead it feels like the rough draft of a game from 20 years ago. Which is unfair because Tomb raider (1996) had less clunky combat and better parkour.

Okay. I'm almost done with the game and I feel like I've played it enough to give it a review. Simply, I don't like the game. The optimization is disgusting. For example, for me to open the map, it takes me an average of 8.687 seconds (yes, I actually did the math with opening and closing the map 50 times.). I get major frame drops on a better than average PC and I think that's ridiculous. I'll give some simple ratings for brevity: P.S. I give these numerical ratings very accurately. Meaning 10/10 = perfect game, 6/10 = better than the average game of it's caliber etc... Story - 4/10: It's a good premise, but very predictable. Characters - 2/10: Did not enjoy a SINGLE character. I didn't enjoy any of the humor and Frey feels like a young teenage girl more than a young woman. Gameplay - 7/10: The combat is pretty dope, the powers are pretty dope (except for the water ones, hate those powers) and you can get pretty creative with combos and when you fully upgrade them, they feel really powerful and that's SUPER important to me Side Quests & Objectives: 3/10: A bunch of garbage, that's all I have to say Overall - 4/10 - 1 = 3/10: Why am I giving it a minus 1? because for this game, I had to pay $70 (American). The fact I had to pay $70 for a 4/10 game, is disgusting. There is no reason I should this shitty of optimization plus every other thing for $70 dollars. If it were a $60 dollar game, it'd stay a 4. All of this is strictly my opinion in my 10.5 hours playing. Thanks for reading. Edit: Thank you all for the reactions, Here to answer some questions. As for the loading of the map, yes I am using an SSD. I recently upgraded my PC and I'll show specs: GPU: RTX 3060 CPU: Intel i9 - 10900k SSD: 3 Terabytes Ram: 32GB DDR4 (I think) By almost done with the game I mean this, I've killed 3/4 Tantas. There could be more, but the devs said that the story was around 15 hours "Forspoken's length should take players about 10-15 hours if you are solely focused on the main story, with a completionist playthrough taking closer to 30 to 40 hours to complete.Forspoken's length should take players about 10-15 hours if you are solely focused on the main story, with a completionist playthrough taking closer to 30 to 40 hours to complete." - TheLoadout.com And for the 10 hours thing, halfway through I decided I didn't care for the story and started skipping dialogue, I didn't care for the characters and I got where the story was going pretty quickly so I just didn't watch it and played the game. I enjoy the combat more than anything and just wanted to do some cool moves and fight. Also, I don't like side-quests in games generally, I will try a few if I need to level up more or need some resources, but, again, IN GENERAL, I don't care for side quests, so I opt not to do them if I can help it. I liked the labyrinths and mutants, so I did some of those, but only a few and focused on general combat and the main story exclusively. I don't know why I don't like them, but all I can say is that I'm not an achievement hunter I guess.
