  Please go to https://audiosurf2.info/download to get the YouTube streaming feature back. Without it, only way to play songs is by having the mp3. Wished it wasn't removed in the first place though. Other than that, good game.

  This is absolutely AWESOME especially the WAKEBOARD mode. LITERALLY, RIDE YOUR OWN MUSIC... if you prefer animal sounds or a recording of your boss' voice while going ballistic about your unpunctuality, YOU CAN RIDE IT. Just plug in almost any sound file in the game. But preferably put your own music that pumps you up. ITS ALL ABOUT THE WAVE DUDE. RIDE OR DIE. I'm sure there are a lot more GOOD things to come when this game is complete! PS Don't lose your job.

  I wasn't planning to do a review for this game but I saw some... interesting... takes in someone else's review that I wanted to counter but their comments were disabled so here we are lol I'm someone who's been playing the first Audiosurf for YEARS. And I play EXCLUSIVELY casual mono. Topping a leaderboard for a track is always a nice and pleasant surprise, but it's not why I play the game. I am here to hit colourful blocks (and avoid greys) to the beat of my favourite music and have a good time. I save my competitive tendencies for other games - as far as Audiosurf is concerned, I am as filthy casual as they come. So, with that in mind: Audiosurf 2. I personally do not find this game any more (or less) difficult or competitive than the first by any means. You can literally turn off the mid-game leaderboards in the settings if they bother you that much (I personally DID find them distracting but it was so easy to get rid of all that it's otherwise not really worth mentioning). I occasionally branch out into some of the other modes available in Audiosurf 2 but, much like the first game, I have a clear favourite above all the others - this time it's the wakeboard mode. There is just something so incredibly fun about timing your jumps just right and watching the surfer go FLYING. Things get even funnier when you play wakeboard with the Dusk skin because now it's a car that's jumping and flipping and spinning erratically in the air at the drops in ways that cars simply shouldn't be capable of. It's the absolute best. Steam Workshop support is always a plus. Good games are good, moddable ones are even better imho. If you're considering this game, I recommend heading to Audiosurf2.info and grabbing the Community Patch as well. It adds some really cool features and fixes to the game which may be of interest, e.g. making the game 64bit, song browser improvements, Discord Rich Presence and restoring the ability to play songs from YouTube.

  This game has sadly lost its best feature that caused everyone to flock to it. Its seamless streaming of music from YouTube. Why is this a big deal? Well the first game in the series 'Audio Surf' required you to have the songs you wished to play on the hard drive of you PC. Audio surf 2 however let you stream music directly from YouTube by typing in the YouTube video you wished to play in a nifty little search bar. This could be done normally for actual music or you could do something silly like streaming a compilation of screams from JonTron, a popular channel who used to comedic reviews of video games. Sadly YouTube has shut that down, as they didn't want copyright to be broken by Audio surf 2. Or perhaps YouTube didn't get any views when you streamed their service through audio surf 2. I don't remember the exact details. But the important thing to remember is that Audio surf 2 no longer supports this feature. "But doesn't that mean I can just select music directly from my hard drive like you would in the original audio surf?" Yes you are correct. Howerver, when the YouTube functionality was removed a large portion of the audio surf 2 community migrated back to the original audio surf. Now many of the leader boards are dead. Which can be the main draw of these sorts of games since each song has its own leaderboard. Also from what I remember audio surf 1 had slightly better controls. This is why I recommend buying the original game, instead of this one. Audio surf 2 is by no means a terrible game. I simply think you will have a better experience playing the first game. But hey, if you want to support the developers some more buying audio surf 2 as well as the original is a great way to do that. More power to you, person who is reading this review :)

  for all the people complaining about youtube support and song leaderboards being removed, GET THE AUDIOSURF 2 COMMUNITY MOD its realy not that hard to install and adds all that back plus things like discord rich presence and audiosurf 1-like profiles.

  If you enjoyed the original audiosurf, get this, it's basically audiosurf, but opened up to the max, with fantastic modding support and every mode you could wish for. If a mode you want isn't there, chances are you can find it on the workshop already, and the game has only just left early access. If you haven't played the original, also get this. It's a brilliant rhythm game where you can play with any song you like on a multitude of game modes.
