    Ignore the negative reviews from people who have played for half an hour and say its the same as FS19 because they are either trolls are too stupid to take seriously... I was massively on the fence with purchasing this game as FS19 has years of mods and content to back it up, but I took a gamble and can honestly say im glad I did! Everything is improved in this game from FS19, and I mean EVERYTHING. The graphics are better, the sounds are a massive improvement, vehicle handling is better, the UI from previous FS games has been thrown out the window and completely redone and is dramatically better, the seasons are completely optional and can be configured however you please, the return of collectables, much more in-depth character creator, the new AI system even in its first iteration is a dramatic overhaul and so much better than previous titles, the build and terrain system is completely different and much better than previous games with a more RTS feel to it like the new AI system, the new store layout is excellent with the ability to see and directly purchase all other items that are compatible with whatever you are buying and bulk buy pallets of seeds etc, the new production chains are awesome and give you so much more to do than the standard fieldwork and sell of previous games, but for me by far the biggest and best improvement of this game is the plethora of new graphical options, optimisation and the addition of DLSS support! I am playing this game on maximum everything and my GPU is idling as I play the game instead of the jet engine it was playing FS19. All told so far in over 6 hours of play I have experienced zero bugs, zero crashes and nothing but amazement as to how far this game has improved since FS19.

    (( UPDATED 4/12/22 )) (Summary at bottom) NOT a reskinned FS19. I have about 650 hours on FS19 and I can most certainly say this is much better in many ways, and many things have been completely overhauled. - Sounds have had a major overhaul, makes the game feel more realistic and immersive. - More placeables than ever, including sheds with working doors, refuel stations (diesel, methane, and electric), seed & fert tanks, etc. Fences, lights, and other decor too, to brighten up your farm a bit. - Many many new brands, and more tire brand options. Also license plates for equipment and vehicles. - Character customization. Graphics wise, the hair looks a rather bit weird, but I'm sure it'll be improved. - Better organized XML files. Much more easier on the eyes compared to FS17, and easier to find things such as the money value. I don't need to use ctrl+f anymore, I can just scroll. (Speaking of XML editing, instead of editing the careerSavegame.xml file like FS17 & FS19 to edit your cash, here you need to edit farms.xml file instead in the same folder, careerSavegame.xml is only for appearance in the main menu.) - Better organized shop UI, not to mention the UI overall. Imo, the weird blue fade on the speedometer/tachometer reminds me of those old games, and I wish they had just instead updated the FS19 one. - An actual American-based map. Major improvement from Ravenport and Goldcrest Valley, feels more of the true american countryside thanks to that new office here in the U.S. that Giants got a while ago. - Buying used equipment. Great for starting a farm on a tight budget, and in multiplayer you can buy other farm's sold vehicles. - Vehicle gearbox. Not required if you don't want to use it, but I like it. A wee bit confusing at times however, I'm used to the way you shift in American Truck Simulator, but this is different. Not bad, maybe needs to be tweaked a bit. - Obviously graphics, you won't really notice a huge jump between FS19 and FS22 as the major jump of the franchise was between FS17 and FS19, but there are some noticeable changes. Also, 3D tracks on tractors. No more jpeg tracks. - Seasons. I don't like playing so realistic to the point I have to wait time for the proper planting and harvesting time, but there's an option to make it so the seasons are just visual only. Now, there are of course many bugs with the game, and some features missing since it got released not too long ago. Some rather aggravating bugs/missing features are: - Landscaping, a tad bit annoying with the camera and movement. There's no snapping things to a certain rotation, and the camera angle is from a bird's eye view that swoops down instead of zooming in, which is rather annoying when trying to line things up together. There's also no sprinting, but it travels a little faster with the bird's eye view. - AI workers. We all know from previous FS games that the AI is notorious, especially in FS17. Here, there have been some improvements, and with the addition of AI being able to drive vehicles to and fro, that's really useful, but again, very buggy. The classic 'Helper F is blocked by an object!' pops up every now and then, you tab over and there's nothing in it's way. Lately, on modded maps, the AI won't move until you tab to it and exit it. Possibly just a mod-side issue. - Buildings, most notably the farmhouse. If you look into the windows, it's just a copied .jpeg of a weird looking kitchen with yellow cabinets and a granite looking wall. I'm sure Giants will add in an interior at some point, I don't want buildings to start to function like the ones back in FS13. Also, you cannot interact/enter any existing buildings/sheds/barns on the farms on the land you purchase. I sure hope that gets changed. Bugs TL;DR: - Existing Building Functionality (Cannot enter buildings and cannot open shed/barn doors) - Landscaping (Controls & viewing angles are awkward) - AI Driving/Transport (Blocked by basically nothing or drives the wrong path) TL;DR: There are many bugs, I hope they'll be fixed before the next year. But there are also many improvements from previous FS games, as someone who's played FS13 (Xbox 360), 17 (Steam), and 19 (Epic Games). At this time, with the amount of bugs/missing features in the game, you can go ahead and buy it if you want. I have not tested everything, and I have not played every map. I do not have all of the bugs and missing features listed, I will update this review as I come across more notable bugs, missing features, and good changes from previous FS games. Again, this is a newly released game, so unless Giants decides to not fix these issues/keep them removed like EA did with Battlefield 2042, then I will change this review as needed. 11/24/21 Update So you can use Q & E to switch between the license plate types, yet when you're typing in your custom license plate and you need to press Q or E, it switches the license plate type. They do have an on-screen keyboard I assume for consoles, but I really don't want to *click, move mouse (repeat 8 more times)* every single time I have to put in a license plate. Graphics for working the fields look much better, now it's hard for me to be able to tell exactly when the ground goes from cultivated to sowed, as with the previous FS games you could easily see the jittery piece by piece ground transformation. As mentioned above with the weird landscaping (now called construction) controls, the camera is also weird, if you zoom out you're kinda forced into a bird's eye view, and when you zoom in it's like the FS19 camera. There's also no placement snapping and no rotation snapping for placing down placables. Pallet physics have improved a ton, however, but they do still slide around imo a wee bit too easily. Just tested it out, both pickups have a gooseneck attachment, it just appears when you attach it to the truck. So that's pog. Bigbags! Can easily pick them up with anything with forks, and you can feel that you're picking up a heavy item. They have realistic physics, so that's nice. 12/31/21 Update - Pre-Placed Buildings can now be deleted off of farms. - The issue with the semi truck axles acting weird is now fixed. They drive much smoother now. 4/12/22 Update: - Character customization is saved to the last customized options. - License Plates are also saved the same way. - Updated/revised entire review I forgot to mention this in the past, but there's multiplayer voice chat as well, which I find to be extremely useful. I just don't like it when the keybind reverts to the default every time you join a new game.

    I had downloaded and installed the game it kept freezing in game. I changed my graphics setting to low, turned off V-Sync, etc. and still same issue. After doing some digging, I found a fix. The game is set to run with DirectX 12 by default. You can change it to DirectX 11 from the config file. To fix “d3d12.dll is missing from your computer” error, follow these steps: Navigate to Documents > My Games > FarmingSimulator2022 Open the game.xml file with notepad. Change D3D_12 to D3D_11 Save it and check if it works. This worked for me, game runs good now! Hopefully this helps any of you that may be having a similar issue. Good Luck Farming!!!

    Don't bother with the Year 1 Season Pass. There are already 3 DLC's that aren't covered in the pass, which means there will be more. I immediately refunded my Year 1 Bundle once I found this out, I refuse to support bait and switch tactics.

TLDR: 8/10. ---{ Graphics }--- 7☐ You forget what reality is 6☐ Beautiful 5☑ Good 4☐ Decent 3☐ Bad 2☐ Don‘t look too long at it 1☐ MS-DOS Having been playing FS19 shortly before this iteration, I didn't see much of a difference in the overall quality. the graphics aren't bad, but you aren't going to be getting that next gen, photo-realistic, picture-in-picture graphics quality some other games provide. Get's a bump up for the UI getting an update for the better (IMO). ---{ Gameplay }--- 6☑ Very good 5☐ Good 4☐ It's just gameplay 3☐ Mehh 2☐ Watch paint dry instead 1☐ Just don't Let's be honest, if you're looking at this game, you likely are looking for this sort of gameplay. Harvesting various crops, maintaining fields, ranching animals, baling and/or transporting byproducts, production chains, and seasonal adaptation. If any or all of those interest you, you'll likely get some amount of enjoyment out of this title. If you aren't crazy about certain aspects, you're more than capable of hiring an AI worker to do it for you (which got an update for this title) ---{ Audio }--- 6☐ Eargasm 5☐ Very good 4☑ Good 3☐ Not too bad 2☐ Bad 1☐ I'm now deaf Another big update from FS19. While it's little things, the thump of the hydraulics moving, the shifting of gears, the ground being torn up by machinery all adds to the immersion. The only real issue I have is a multiplayer bug I'm encountering at the time of this review which I'll outline in the bugs section. ---{ Audience }--- ☑ Kids ☑ Teens ☑ Adults ☑ Grandma Beyond the required motor skill to use a computer, if someone is buying this on steam, I'd expect them to have the capacity to play this. ---{ PC Requirements }--- 6☐ Check if you can run paint 5☐ Potato 4☑ Decent 3☐ Fast 2☐ Rich boi 1☐ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer I have a reasonably fast rig, so I can't speak for those that fall under"potato" or "paint" tier, but I encounter no real drops. I'm comfortable saying if you have at least a decent computer you can run this. ---{ Difficulty }--- ☐ Just press 'W' ☑ Easy ☐ Easy to learn / Hard to master ☐ Significant brain usage ☐ Difficult ☐ Dark Souls In game manuals aid a new player, and introduce new mechanics well enough. you still might have things you'll need to look up. Beyond the odd one out, the guided tutorial as well as experience from previous titles will serve you well enough. It's farming, not much changes gameplay-loop wise. ---{ Grind }--- ☐ Nothing to grind 5☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks 4☑ Isn't necessary to progress 3☐ Average grind level 2☐ Too much grind 1☐ You'll need a second live for grinding Hard is grindy, and if you like that sort of challenge, you'll love hard mode. Normal is reasonable, and the mode I'd recommend to play on. Easy starts you off with machinery, capitol, and land to farm. Really the level of grind is tied to what difficulty you want. ---{ Story }--- ☑ No Story ☐ Some lore ☐ Average ☐ Good ☐ Lovely ☐ It'll replace your life No story to speak of, which isn't unusual for this series. The game is what you make of it. ---{ Game Time }--- 1☐ Long enough for a cup of coffee 2☐ Short 3☐ Average 4☐ Long 5☑ To infinity and beyond With mod support, there will always be new content for you to try out given some time for the community to begin adding more. The loop is repetitive, but satisfying. That being said, Giant is known to be pretty heavy on DLC, so expect to pay more than you do initially if you want every bit of official content. ---{ Bugs }--- 5☐ Never heard of 4☐ Minor bugs 3☑ Can get annoying 2☐ ARK: Survival Evolved 1☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs As of this review, I have encountered bugs where the audio will cut out on certain parts of the map on a multiplayer server, and the physics would freak out and mess up my pile of bales.     I have played the Farming Simulator Series since FS11 and have logged many hours into the Series. I can tell you a few things 1. This is NOT just a reskin of FS19. Many things have changed and honestly this is the best in the Series to date. 2. Yes there are a few bugs, but nothing game breaking 3. This installment has the best Material Handling. Just tonight I loaded a Semi Trailer full of Strawberry Pallets by hand with no issues at all. Bales have also improved a lot! 4. There is a lot more in this installment then we ever have had before which will help with keeping you busy on the farm. Cows, Chickens, Pigs, and Sheep are the only Animals, but with the addition of Production Buildings it keeps you busy and wanting to work harder to own them. 5. Starting maps are great (Unlike FS19) the American Map feels good, I just wish we had some sort of Animal Pen to start with and a Bigger yard, but again I am enjoying it. Working hard to grow my Farm land so I can get into Cows as I was a Dairy Farmer growing up, but the map is not bad. If you are a fan for Giants and Farming Simulator pick this title up and have fun! This is the first in the series they put out themselves and is the most optimized in the Series to date. It will only go up from here! 6. I see this question a lot and you might see the bad reviews about the Season Pass. Is it worth getting? My answer is this.. Yes as in the long run ti will save you some cash. Yes there are 3 DLC's that are out now that ARE NOT included in the Season Pass, a Small tractor you will never use, a Black Beauty and a Mack Truck Skin.. the reason these are NOT included is because these were all some sort of Pre Order Bonus. The season pass will cover the DLC's for the first year but not the pre order bonuses. You will understand that if you read the description of the Pass. 7. American Equipment is pretty lacking, but this is what is great about this series. If you played any others you know the Mod community is great and you will see plenty out soon! This again is not "Game Breaking" because like any farmer you need to make due with what you have. 8. Crossplay is a thing now! Yes PC players can now play with Xbox and PS players, you are limited to the mods that Mod makers and Giants allows to be placed in the Mod Hub, but this is a start. I love it because I can now play with my Farming Buddy that only has an Xbox while I am on my PC. I hope this review helps someone that is not a Fan boy but has put in a lot of hours in this series. At first I was not going to get FS22 after not having a lot of fun in FS19, but I am sure glad I bought it, because like I said, this is the best I have ever seen it!

    So… after three years for a company who’s business-plan seem to be to release a new game every two years I had high hopes for this one. Low expectations, but still… high hopes. Sadly, Giants delivered as expected. In recognizable form they made sure to leave any real visions and improvements on the drawing-board and release what feels more like a free update or a cheap DLC than a new game. New features: • Seasons. More or less just copy/pasting a good mod from FS19. Instead of showing us what a professional developer can do with a good idea, they just payed (I assume) the modders and called it done. • Production chains. As with seasons they took a mod(s), streamlined it a little and that’s it, done. • Sound and gear-system. This is in my opinion the only real improvement to the game, but it still need some polish and I would like a bigger variety in the engine-sounds. • 3 new crops. One is just another combinable crop and two orchard type crops. A bit of a gimmick, but I guess they tie into production chains so that’s fine. • New build mode. Improved, but the terrain editor it’s very basic and it’s impossible to smooth it out to look close to real. Even the developer can’t do it right, check out the ground close to the cow-pasture in Erlengrat. • New worker features. Workers can now be sent from A to B, sent to a field to do a job and carting. I only tested this a few times and it work ok, but the path-finding is far from perfect. • AI traffic. AI cars drive faster, I’m sure that had to take a month or two to change, right? They are still on rails and it’s still like hitting a brick wall if you drive into them. There is no pathfinding, no avoidance. To call it AI is an insult to AI’s everywhere. • Used equipment and separate maintenance and paint condition. A good idea, but again, very basic. Also if you repair but don’t repaint you vehicles the condition-bar next to the speed-o stays at about a quarter full(might have been changed/fixed). • Character creation. It’s fine, but there is no sliders for body-shape or skin-colour and just 16 predefined faces. • Fieldstone. Stones show up in fields after plowing and cultivating. Sure, but I suspect most player’s will turn it off after a short time so why bother. In my experience the workers have no idea what parts of a field is done and not if you stop them half-way through. • Changes to the UI. Sure, but was that the most important thing to improve? Physics: The physics seems to have gotten little to no love. • Machines and equipment still have no real feeling of weight. No change in centre of mass when accelerating or braking, no rocking and rolling on big rubber tires when you drive on uneven terrain or come a sudden stop. Remember, even the smallest tractor in the game weighs 2,9 tons, more than twice the weight of a compact car. • The physics of bales, pallets and logs are still horrible. If you bump into them they slide around like on ice. They still glitch into pallet-forks, bale-spike and log-claws and many other objects. Hitting the “sweet-spot” for pallets feels like a lottery. Round-bales are perfectly round and will roll away on the slightest gradient instead of compressing slightly under their own weight. And the logs… the logs can make even the most level-headed of us turn to violence. • There might be a traction-system hiding somewhere deep inside the game, but it mostly seams to have little to no impact on gameplay, it’s just cosmetic. Where is the reason to choose wide or dual tires? Why change away from narrow’s after fertilizing? Why add wheel-weights? Adding rolling resistance might give us a reason to use communal tires to a vehicle mostly used for carting, especially if that is the only way to reach top speed. Terrain: • The terrain poly-count can’t have changed much since the first game. • How can a game released in 2021 have roads with sharp angles like you find around some bridges and (un)loading-stations? • Otherwise the roads are smooth as glass, with no bumps, cracks, pot-holes or imperfections at all. Most times you cant even tell if you drive from asphalt to grass. • It would be nice to have a reason to want to stay on the roads and dirt-tracks when moving from A to B but since the grasslands and fields are almost as smooth as the rest of the map most people just cut across. Workers: The workers are as useless as ever. On a perfectly square field they do ok as long as there are no trees or building near by. On a slightly unevenly shaped field they leave little missed bits most times they turn. They will come to a field edge, turn around and line up perfectly to continue before deciding to go home. I created a field with a plow, seeded two full laps of headlands and set this dumbbell off on his own. He managed a few rounds and the proceeded to seed 30 meters into the grassland next it before he quit. It can’t possibly be that difficult to make the worker-AI aware of what they are doing, where they’re supposed to do it and if they are finished doing it. It’s been like this since at least FS15, there is no excuse!! Maps and Gameplay: Other then the addition of production lines, which are minor gameplay-wise, there are no changes. It’s still farm, sell, repeat. The economy is as basic as ever. In the new price-overview it looks like it would be possible to predict when to sell, but from my experience this is either bugged or useless. There are three maps with one starting location on each, nothing new, nothing to be excited about, but they might be slightly bigger than in FS19. It would be nice to have more options when you start a new game instead of starting with the same machines, on the same farm, with the same budget every time you start a map. How about: • Different starting budgets. • A variety in starting vehicle-packs to choose from. • A choice of several different farms on each map, varying in size and feel. • Rule-sets? I’m the type of person who should love this game, but I don’t. Instead I get frustrated over bad mechanics, I’m disappointed in the lack of creative thinking and development and angry that obvious bugs and flaws stays in the game release, after release. I hope to some day play a good or even great farming simulator, but at this rate though, with statistically only 30-40 year left to live, I don’t like my odds. The Farming Simulator community is big(for a work-sim) and full of supportive players and modders who have been conditioned to lower their expectations for years. It’s about time they are rewarded with a developer that at least aspires to get up to date with modern technology.
