  Super, super tense, first impressions based on playing. Definitely recommended to run if you have friends who can do runs with you! Although I would say the price tag is a bit too steep at the moment.

  I've seen some reviews of people harping on how you can't select weapons, can't customize your character, well... yeah. You're an infantry Marine in 2004 Fallujah, you're either going to have an M16A4 with irons or an ACOG because that's all you had to use. Your kit is already dope looking, you don't need the option to bastardize it through customization. Others have said the movement feels clunky and slow and I do agree with that, but it's not unbearable, especially if you factor in that this isn't supposed to be a fast paced FPS. Some of the vaulting animations are wack, yes, but not terrible. One reviews discussed how there aren't FOV or head bobbing sliders, again, for most people that won't be an issue. For what the studio said the game would be like during early access, it is. It's pretty nice.

  As a Marine Veteran myself and one who has been to Iraq more than once, and to Afghanistan also; seeing and reading the real life quotes in game, the intro video, the overall experience of the game itself, has got me thinking about the fellow brothers & sisters I served with, both living, and... most especially, the ones that never made it back home.   Finally, a realistic shooter... Give it a few minutes and a few updates and it'll be one of the best Mil Sims on the market. 10/10.

  TLDR: High Potential, Conflicting Ideas. UNPOLISHED FOR NOW. REVIEW WILL BE UPDATED AS TIME GOES ON. Six Days in Fallujah is a game that has lots of potential. From a perspective of someone who's played numerous FPS games in their time, it's difficult to judge. Only buy if you're sure of what you want. Even if you know what you want, this game is in need of some severe polishing. This review probably will go unnoticed, but I hope to give feedback that may help both players or anyone who happens to be able to change the game for the better. It provides - Decent enemy intelligence (Could be better, but not bad!) - An unforgiving close-quarters-combat experience for those who are tired of caffeine-fueled FPS games (like COD..) or heroin-snorefests (like some milsims) - Serviceable gunplay that works. - A gameplay format that puts you on the spot and lets you take it at a reasonable pace. No 20 minutes of preparations or scrambling to understand anything. However, there are many caveats and nitpicks that should be addressed or be aware of. From "the worst problems I can find" to "just a nitpick". In no particular order. - (SOLO PLAY) Ammo is insufficient. - (SOLO PLAY) Mortars are impossible to deal with. You don't move fast enough and it's impossible to take your time without teammates. (HALF FIXED. Still a problem, just less) - (SOLO PLAY) Cannot choose any role / loadout except Squad Leader. - Enemies can potentially kill you about 10 seconds after spawning. Generally this is luck-based. - AI sometimes makes questionable decisions. (Somewhat fixed. They still aren't amazingly smart.) - No loadouts or customization. This isn't about "I want some absurd gun build" and more about "This grenade launcher feels like it weighs me down." - The game automatically makes you lean, similar to mounting in Call of Duty. This can mess with your aim if you're manually leaning around corners. - Being shot at makes you stop aiming. Not flinch (like in Rising Storm 2), but automatically un-aim. This feels unpolished and extremely prone to messing with one's muscle memory. On Solo play, this makes it impossible to properly do anything the moment someone manages to get a bead on you except stumble around and hope to god you can aim fast enough.. - Movement is quite clunky. It's easy to get stuck on things that one should be able to step over. - There are no traps, civilians or anything, yet. I assume this is because they're still 'in the oven'. - Enemies generally take too many shots. 3-6 shots from an M16A4 through the torso at times. - Flashlights are far too dim / have too little range. It's too easy to be shot dead by an enemy across the room that you can't see despite having a light. The AI can see your light, so if a room is big enough, it's straight up detrimental. - Controls can only be bound to one key and not two. - Height over bore does not exist in this game. Probably done for the same of game design. I'm personally happy with this. - Point shooting relies on your front sight post, rather than where the gun is actually aiming at. This is most obviously seen when using the flashlight. The point of impact is the front sight and not generally the middle of the flashlight. Probably done for game design purposes. - AI Rubberbands between being too accurate and thinking the windowsill is an angry Marine. - Scopes are blurry. (FIXED!) - Cannot heal while crouching. So find a proper wall before you check yourself and bandage that wound. (FIXED) Suggestions (From the perspective of a solo player) + Being suppressed causes mild aimpunch instead of forcing the player to un-aim. This makes it easier to actually return fire up close while making it impossible to snipe a gunner. + Increase flashlight brightness / range. + Increase player damage across the board. Either this, or more ammo per player. + Remove the auto mounting. I have auto-leaning turned off in the settings, yet it occasionally causes problems anyway. Make it a thing people have to learn to improve survival chances. + Allow us to at least pick our roles in a solo lobby.

  I was a veteran of Operation Phantom Fury where this game takes place, and it is very close to the real thing environmental wise. If you like the enemies of Call of Duty and Battlefield you may not appreciate this game, as the enemies play like actual players, they flank, they use suppressing fire, mortal support, and hid in the shadows. The Snipers do not have scope shine so are nearly impossible to see, you have to see where the bullets are impacting and make your educated guess. It may not be for everyone, but if you like tactical games like Operation Flashpoint, then I would highly recommend this game. If you are wanting another platform to own noobs in PVP then this is not the game for you. If you really want a fraction of an idea of what war is really like, this game will give it to you.

  Think Ready or Not mixed with OG Rainbow six's Terrorist Hunt mode and you got Six Days In Fallujah. I first heard about this as a teenager when Fox News bitched about it, and now all these years later it's finally out. There are no flashbangs, NODs, Ballistic Shields, scopes. You just got an M16A2/M249/M9, a torch, a kevlar vest and balls of steel (optional). It's early days but I'm seriously impressed how intense it can all get. My machine is no slouch but i can only run it moderately well on low settings; hopefully optimisation improves over the EA period.
