  Tough Love Arena is an interesting beast: originally born as a browser game with rollback netcode, it has now been ported to PC. The gameplay has barely changed in comparison to the original version - but that's not an issue. TLA is one of the most accessible fighting games for newcomers, with simplified inputs but enough stuff happening on screen - including a free cancel system akin to Guilty Gear's Roman Cancel mechanic - that you always need to stay on your toes. This port to PC works without real issues and, for the price it is sold at, is definitely worth a shot. In terms of technical requirements, I would place it between Fantasy Strike and Street Fighter, leaning more towards the former but with some additional actions that make it more demanding in terms of execution.

  wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone. if you play fighting games, are interested in accessible fighting games, or are newcomer to the genre this game is for you 5 buttons for input, super easy to learn and hard to master. the dev is super transparent and active with improvements which is something i like There are weekly tournaments so join the discord!

  i'm very angry! 1. Only 2 skins are locked, i can't use them; Unlock method: a. One unlocked must get the 1700MMR level in a Ranked Match in the online mode, but I can't connect to my account, it always show "ERROR LOGGING IN". How do i play in the Ranked Match? In addition, the number of people online is generally 7~20. if noone play the game one day, i can't really unlock the skin! b.One unlocked must participate in the official major tournament and u have to win a match. The work and rest time of any country are different. I have no time to participate in the official major tournament at all. Why can't I spend money to unlock my skin! 2. some UI button can't be chose by keyboard and gamepad, like maps or cpu difficulty in the Versus CPU mode UI, i must use mouse to click to change it! I am just a leisurely player who is willing to spend money and save time. In addition to working at ordinary times, I have to do tasks to unlock the skin while playing games. I am tired like a dog working all day! play game to unlock skins like a job!

  I had some issues getting my controller working: I had to go into Steam settings, Controller, scroll down to Desktop Layout and map my bumpers, triggers, and X Y A B to numpad keys. Have some hours already on the browser version and it's a lot of fun, great Discord game too since it's free on browser and easy to run.

  Played a lot on multiple platforms, this is without a doubt the MOST fun I've had with a fundamentals-based fighter. Everything from the art, the diversity of characters with the simple scheme, the incredible sound design. It's all so much fun for a few goofy matches with friends. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

  I would recommend trying this game out with a friend. The browser version is free and simple in its 4-button control scheme. The rollback netcode is also rock solid, but the few people still playing online are not exactly beginners anymore. I love TLA, but I think it's in a tough spot where it doesn't quite target FGC newcomers. Instead, it primarily appeals to people who already understand Fighting Games. There's an unexpected depth to TLA's mechanics, and discovering that depth will be easier if you have the right people to play against.
