Blaster Master Zero Возможности

Mutant scum never learn! Blaster Master Zero makes its Steam debut!

Blaster Master Zero is a 8-bit style top-down & sideview 2D action-adventure game that hearkens back to the golden age of the NES.

This game was created using the original 1988 title "Blaster Master" from Sunsoft as a base, with the addition of new areas and bosses, new gameplay elements such as extra sub-weapons, improved gameplay, a more robust scenario, refined and expanded exploration mechanics, and more.

・On the sideview maps, take control of the battle tank SOPHIA III and explore your surroundings as you search for the entrance to the dungeon where the area's boss lurks.

・Once you find a dungeon entrance, exit SOPHIA III and make your way inside as the hero Jason and take on the mutants that dwell within in top-down mode.

・Defeat the mid-bosses and area bosses to acquire new items, sub-weapons, upgrades to SOPHIA III and Jason's equipment, and new abilities and maneuvers that allow SOPHIA III to access new areas.

・Player 2 can provide support for Player 1 as they traverse through the game in the co-op multiplayer mode.

The first playthrough is one of the best neo-retro action game experiences on the market. The merging of 2D Action/Platforming and Top Down Action works seamlessly and is a joy to play. Highly recommend playing this game to everyone. Do not go for 100% achievements in Blaster Master Zero. The final achievement, Destroyer, requires you to beat the game on Destroyer mode, which ramps the difficulty up to such a considerable degree that it's borderline unplayable. This is easily one of my proudest completions just for how difficult Destroyer was alone, but it was not worth it.

If short falls from ladders killed you so easily in real life, cleaning windows would be more dangerous than doing space research for NASA.

Around 1990, having learned of Blaster Master from a spiral-bound strategy guide (those few pages of text and fuzzy CRT photos instantly seeded fantasies of revolutionary gameplay and SF adventure starring me), I obtained one of my life's most coveted games with a straight-A report card. The lush 8-bit biomes, biomechanical mutants, and smoothly animated pink supertank did not disappoint, though limited continues (four to be precise) soon threw water on my once-heated love affair . . . and I've not played it seriously since then, being incurably allergic to long games with finite lives. It was a rough game for anyone (and eight-year-olds are fickle anyway), so I simply let my hungry ghost focus shift to some new thing. It always stuck with me, though, how immediately the game conjured such a rich vibe of sweeping adventure. That impression remained a constant through all my tentative assays, separated by stretches of years. This new entry, which replaces the earthier tones of the original with an equally pleasing palette of bright colors (the pink tank remains the same), does indeed replicate the instantaneous adventure of the old, and it does so with the same frequent changes in scale: tricked-out supertank in big, woolly world ejects tiny to-scale pilot with limited sidescrolling mobility to accentuate vastness and helplessness . . . but before he becomes too abstract a cipher, little Jason enters top-down dungeons as a large and capable sprite with personality and battle options galore . . . then later on, when he reemerges, you're quickly reminded of how huge that overworld is for him (and through him, for you). I love that three-pronged approach so much! I'll freely admit it does about as much for me today as it did then, helped along as it is by a more robust save-the-world story I became an immediate fan of. But keep in mind this tale does take an unfortunate hit from an awkward translation. What was that again, Eve? You . . . what? Could you clarify that for me, dear? Do what, now? What do you know! I can actually beat this one! It's just too bad I could probably do it with my left foot working the controller and blindfolded. Zero is every bit as easy as the original is brutally hard, which I think is quite the pity -- but at least the game's variety and driving sense of scale-based adventure are there to compensate for this flaw. I've beaten it twice now, the second time with even greater relish -- and I'm sure I will again, if that's any indication of how fun it is. So thank you, Inti Creates, for giving new life and accessibility to a great old game that couldn't stop punching below the belt. I love your reimagining, warts and all, and the sequel is even better!

This game is so sick. It really deserves more recognition. -Great soundtrack -Level design is fun and rewarding to explore -3 different modes of play (In the SOPHIA, on foot in the world, and on foot in dungeons) -The tiered weapon system is great and rewards you for not taking damage -Fun bosses and variety in which form that you fight against them (In SOPHIA versus on foot) Loving this game. Can't wait to experience BMZ2 and BMZ3 as well.

I am a simple man. I see Blaster Master and I buy it. I fired it up, heard the level 1 music and was immediately sent back to 1989. If you will excuse me, I am going to play more of this game.

I'm happy my childhood game was on Steam after Nintendo Switch, also... SUNSOFT bass!

A very good Steam port from the 3DS version. The controls are on point and the upscaling to fullscreen is good, if you don't mind the mini black bars on the side. I recommend this to anyone who's into metroidvania, fun yet sometimes challenging actions games and of course those who are already familiar with The original Blaster Master from the NES days. Now if only Inti Creates can get Blaster Master Zero 2 on this platform.

A major step up from the original Blaster Master. All this wait I had to be able to play it on PC made it more than worth! Plus, the free Ekoro and Gunvolt are a nice treat for when I'm done with the main story.

Having played the NES original a lot growing up, I jumped on this one when it became available, and so far my initial impression of this version is quite good. It's an "enhanced/remastered" version of the original that looks like it may have if this were made for the Nintendo DS or maybe even Super NES, with improved graphics and audio (same music as the original), and also adding in some cutscenes and other gameplay tweaks. If you are willing to spend a few bucks there are also more options you can buy. The only thing right now I'd like to see added at some point is the NES original, maybe as a future DLC. Although the gameplay is a little complex at first while you try to figure out what every button does and how to switch weapons, it's easy to pick up and play and there is a cool co-op mode for 2 players. If you liked the NES original this is a remake that is worth buying, but on its own this is also a solid retro platformer/action game. Definitely off to a good start.

There's a right and wrong way to bring back something from yesteryear that we all get nostalgic about. This is a fine example of the right way. The creators of this gem didn't push it, they kept the core of what makes a great game even greater. This is something seriously lacking in the game world today. All too often are we treated with this idea that we can really enjoy something we either grew up with or have great memories over and all too often are we given something that doesn't reach full potential. Graphics, music, sound effects, play control, difficulty - they all become lost in translation and the nostalgia trip just ends with us being left with a sub-par experience. Not here. Graphics are nicely presented, preserved, if you will, to look original but updated just enough. Music is on point, offering a quick reminder of how much we loved the original soundtrack. Sound effects receive the same treatment, which is awesome because they're really enjoyable. Play control is what you remember it to be - no slippery mechanics here. Difficulty shares in the same challenge we all know and love - or hated back in the day. :) I'm only a few minutes into the game and noticed all these things right from the get-go. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Moreover, I'm very pleased with what the developers did with this title. So happy they didn't mess it up and present something with very little to no effort in the nostalgia department. The industry needs to take a cue from these folks - YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE MUCH TO MAKE AN AMAZING GAME! So devs, thank you! Anyway, buy the game and have fun.
