  All the hype, all the teasers, all the giveaways...this version is DOA! I kind of had a feeling that this release was not going to live up to the expectations and the build up the developers have created. The unexplained version / game design switch from episode 4 which was announced and later cancelled and changed to College Kings 2: Act 1...None of the final save games you saved with a big warning telling you to save in order to continue where you left off from in the new release work and were nonsense as the new act does not allow you to load those saves. It gives you two choices to go through a fast forwarded version of the first 3 acts asking you to answer questions about key plot decision you have made so it can continue based on your answers. Well the problem is you can't be expected to answer all those correctly since its been awhile and also some of the questions do not match the exact way things have unfolded in the first 3 chapters. This way of continuing the game you have invested so much time developing your MC and his relationships feel unnatural and leaves you wondering if the new options/choices match your previous ones. Other option is to use the path builder which is even more condensed version of the events, So this has really really disappointed me! All the promises about better and more sex scenes are also not true. A few ones you get to see are just vanilla sex with nothing exciting about them. All the premises build in the prior acts, like Chloe liking rough sex etc isn't follow up on and she is so busy with her reelection campaign that you get to have one time quickly with her in an alley! Really? Again, the intimate scenes with Nora and others are just a let down from variety and intensity points o view. A few sound effects that are added are out of sync with what is happening and sound more like desperate moans than pleasure filled ones! Another shocking change you have made by closing and opening pathways with the ladies based on their preferences of whether you are loyal, popular or confident now just block possible outcomes with all the ladies, which was more flexible in the first three acts. For example, if your main trait is confident, you no longer can advance with Lauren or vice versa with Nora if you are loyal. Because you cannot change your traits anymore, you are stuck with whats available to you based on the trait preferences of the ladies. This was so well balanced in the first three acts and now its more like a set in stone, hard coded setup. Terrible change in the game play mechanics. Unfulfilled plot lines from the the first 3 acts! What is the point of starting a threesome relationship at the end of the act 3 to shut it down almost immediately in the new act? What is the point of showing Chloe interested in rough/dominant sex and not to follow up on that at all? Why limit the player choices of having intimate moments with the ladies based on the stupid mandatory bogus baby sitting exercises? Why is this version is so much shorter than the first three with less intimate scenes? Why, after all that hot and heavy actions in the first three acts, this new act feels like everyone had amnesia and you have to work all your relationships up again? Nora, which had a huge build up to the intimate scene in act 3, also in the new act, both scenes just lacked passion, the anticipation and eroticism and all. Since Chloe and Nora are the golden girls and as a player if you choose to go through all those choices to pursue them, then the reward of achieving that should be properly displayed. Lazy, lazy, lazy! :steamfacepalm: And the whole new act is shorter than the others, I could not believe it ended so soon. 4 hours of game play. You really had us going but let us down a big time with this release! With all the support and active steam players you are enjoying and bragging about, you should do so much better than this. I would not have mind paying a lot more and got a full proper new version of the continuation of the first 3 acts. And by now, you should incorporate full voice acting. Either success got to your heads and you were too busy with victory dances, or just got lazy! This is no way a full act release and does not come anywhere close to the work and effort that were put in the first 3 acts.

  Would have been better if they stuck with making episode 4 a dlc instead to keep the story ongoing. Curent state of CK 2 is crap! Loads and loads of bugs. Ignoring bug reports just skips the story forward and leaves you with an idea that you missed out on something, while the bugged coding skipped ahead ... worst still.... no content from previous dlc's or story line present. Your choises in ck1 dont matter at all. And wont. CK2 is a new game and CK1 remains unfinished. Would consider this to be a scam. Atleast untill CK2 is fixed and patched and everything (all choise related story options) from CK1 implemented to story line of CK2. Not recomentable in the curent state of the game.

  PLEASE HEAR THIS OUT. College Kings 2 is giving the original game freely. If you happened to buy it before, you're in bad luck, you only get walkthroughs for the 3 acts. This actually doesn't compensate you at all for the money you spent, and you might wonder if the developer did this for being a good samaritan or just another marketing gimmick to attract attention. I think we both know how this would end, College Kings 2 would be made free again so that there's attraction for College Kings 3 or its spin-offs. I don't like this kind of action and I would encourage you to voice your dissatisfaction too. EDIT: Honestly, what is with you devs? CK2 is so much [i] lesser [/i] than CK1. I played it but the story just lost its appeal. It felt like it's a game about all the girls wanting to dive into MC pants. I mean, CK2 should've been the one that is free, not your CK1 lol. For would-be buyers, please just play CK1. It's free and much more interesting. The only thing redeems CK2 is Aubrey's relationship. Honestly, nothing hooked me in the game.

  It saddens me immensely to say this as 1 who have supported this game with a lot of money on Patreon. But do not buy this game at this point. The splitting the game in two seems like a EA level cashgrab!! They have made promises to their supportes wich they do not uphold. And that says a little about their character. Your saves do not carry over even tho they promised it would! " [b] College Kings 2 Act I will replace what used to be Act IV, with the story continuing right where Act III left off. But don’t worry, your decisions and relationships from the first game carry over. [/b] " copied directly from their Discord Even if they add the carry over of saves later, thats just to late. I dont buy a game to continue my game at a later date! But is not all bad. The game have some of the best Animations and some really HOT Girls....

  I understand that some players are unhappy with CK1 being free to upon CK2 arrival. i came to know this game by CK1 being free and i bought CK2. I would suggest that the developer should be giving free copy of CK2 if player purchased CK1 or give major discount as CK2 is a sequel story of CK1.

  Dude, lets be honest. Since I first played this game it felt really, really similar to Being a D!K... And at the time, i thought that despite that, the game offered was fun enough to worth my time. Act II and Act III GREATLY improved most of the storielines and story overall, even distancing itself from their "inspiration game". Ok, so I've waited for Act 4 (by the way paying for each Act always felt like a money grab), but they decide to release as CK2... First thing that got me pissed was that I couldnt transfer my saves (AND I HAD LIKE 3 DIFFERENT SAVES WITH DIFFERENT CHOICES), but ok, irrelevant I thought, lets play the game. Sex scenes were to few, animations felt lifeless and the scenes were vanilla all the way. Why tease us with a possible poli relationship at the final of Act III and at the start of CK2 if this option isn't possible? (BADik has a similar relationship btw), why tease us with Chloe linking Dom/Sub sex if there is any (this fucking game doesnt even has H scenes with her - only 2 bcs she is occupied with the totally irrelevant election-, so dating her is easily one of the worst choices)... The decisions in this game felt meaningless, nothing different comes out of it... For all that your "inspirational game" (lets not talk about what really went on) did right, you guys did wrong!!!! And after a really disappointing gameplay I found out that the entire CK 1 went for free on steam, so I basically payed for what? Nothing? My dudes, I will never return to this game, its not original, it doesnt respect its players AND started doing EA moneygrab level of bullshit.

  Okay, as of this moment I am counting 6 hours of play time on College Kings 2. Not much by any degree but enough to get a taste of what it has to offer. So, with that in mind, this is my initial first impression. The Good Stuff: One of the biggest positives CK2 has is in a very very improved animation render. I was highly expecting there to be some update on this with CK2 and it does not let down. They are smoother, better structured, and even a bit longer in a few cases. New Characters: Another nice touch was expanding their character base. We get the characters we knew and associated with in CK one and now they have added in a few as well as expanding on interactions with CK1 Characters you could not interact with much. That was a nice touch. Starting a Game This is technically neither a positive or a negative, and can be taken either way. The main highlight I like here is that CK2 does not drag you though every choice in CK1 to start a game. You can either jump in blind and just play, or use a path builder to get the essentials sorted and roughly continue where you left off. But that is about where the good news ends... The Negatives. Consistency: I expected this to be a challenge right from the start. I am not unaware of what it takes to make a game and am even working on my own VN in my spare time. However, there is a clear difference between attempted effort and a lack of effort. It shows. I do not mean this as a bash, but my strongest gripe is how poorly the path builder sets you up on continuing your journey. If you were just coming into CK2 with no CK1 background, it would be perfectly fine. Let me use Penelopy as an example here. In CK1, I was very interested in continuing a path specifically with her. I really enjoyed the path she presented. Slow. Romantic. Plenty of buildup. It felt more like a natural relationship by comparison of all the other girls who are almost throwing themselves at you. However, in CK2, it felt like any amount of progress made was chopped out the window. And she is not the only one. I want to be clear, I get where they are coming from. Setting up CK2 to be playable as its own game but also accessable as a sequil to CK1 but in all honesty, should have just retained it at a 100% sequal and gone to maintain a better connection to CK1. Now, the devs did post a small update and apology for the mixed reviews and highlighted the main complaints. That being the above. They have acknolaged and taken ownership of the state this got released in and that makes me feel a lot better. They know they handled it wrong and they not only admitted to handling it wrong, but promised to make the effort to resolve the issues. Very few companies are so willing to step that far up. For this I think it is worth backing and keeping. I am going to play CK2 more in its current state to get a wider feel for its gameplay and how it handles the narrative. I will return by the weekend to follow up this review with an edit. Comments enabled. Feel free to share your thoughts with me if you like. Or ask questions.
