  After playing this game... a bit, I decided it's about time to write a review. First thing I'll say is that this game isn't for everyone, the learning process for it mainly involves dying and learning from said deaths, which might not be your cup of tea. It's for this reason I recommend interacting with other players, whether that's looking trough the wiki, watching tutorials or just playing with friends. This game was made to be experienced along others (which is why you get a bonus copy to give to someone else). The game is pretty difficult, but not for the reasons you might expect. At first you may be fooled into thinking this is a survival game, and while that is the core of the it once you played ~20 hours the game becomes more about thriving. Once you learn how to hunt efficiently and set up a few farms, hunger is no longer a problem, and the challenges that each season brings can be conquered with a bit of preparation (so it's about time you put those time management skills you don't have to use). After you got these things sorted out, you can explore the world and the overwhelming amount of content in it. Some people say they don't really like sandbox games such as these because they don't have a set goal, however Don't Starve Together has not 1, but 2 final bosses to beat if you want some linear progression. And if you don't want to focus on beating said bosses, the game has a lot more stuff to see, such as: the numerous cool items, optional raid bosses, the different characters and their play styles etc. While I don't think I have the time to write about this game's many upsides in detail (this would quite frankly be better done in video form), I feel like have scratched the surface on them and I encourage you to see more about them. I will now turn my attention to some things you should probably know before getting the game: 1. The game doesn't explain much to you, so you'll have to go by item descriptions, the character's examinations, your real life survival knowledge (more or less) and... the wiki. Out of my 350 hours on the game, I have probably spent at least 8 just browsing the wiki. However this was more to understand the intricacies of the game's mechanics, and you'll probably survive without having to open the wiki... probably. 2. Monetization in this game is GREAT! Four of the game's characters are not unlocked from the start, but can be bought for about $7. The game also has skins for characters and items that you can buy. So what makes the monetization so great and consumer-friendly? Well, you get a cosmetic item for opening the game every day, and you get up to 9 more per week just for playing. If you don't like the cosmetics, you can unravel them for spools, and then use those to make skins or even obtain new characters. Therefore you can just play the game and get all of the stuff in the store without paying anything. 3. The game still get's updated regularly, adding brand new content for free. Some of these updates are character reworks, which add new depth to the many playable characters (my boy Maxwell is getting a rework soon, and I'm quite excited) So essentially. This game offers a constantly expanding ocean of content for it's measly $15 price tag as long as you are willing to take the time to learn to play it. And obviously, as with any other game, it's more fun to play with your friends, which is why the extra copy you get from buying the game is very appreciated. TLDR: I didn't starve, my friends did. 9/10

  This is a fun yet tough as nails Survival games with a amazing art style and a easy to pick up yet difficult to master game play system. One of my favorite parts of the game is that every playthrough will be different. The things you collect, the mobs you see and fight, the places you'll travel to and set up camp at will always be different so there's always that feeling of constant surprises.
