Defeat Orange Ancient Elites

It's always worthwhile to hunt down Ancient Elites, also known as Orange Elites because they always drop a Legendary item during the first encounter of the day. Just be sure to land the initial blow on them to avoid giving the rewards to a different player.

Only found in the overworld, Ancient Elites spawn randomly in all zones. You might have to wait a long time for these monsters to spawn because they are the game's rarest spawns. The most effective approach to cause them to spawn appears to be to repeatedly wipe off a single area until you see one appear.

Complete Horadric Bestiary Turn-Ins

Exchanging Monstrous Essences for item rewards at the Horadric Bestiary is the best and most F2P-friendly way to farm Legendary Gear. Although time-consuming, it is the greatest technique because it increases the likelihood of running into elite enemies and magnificent open-world chests that occasionally contain Legendaries.

Note: Page deciphering is limited to three every day, but even after reaching the limit, the prizes can still be obtained by repeatedly farming and submitting 10 Monstrous Essences to the Horadric Altar. Compared to the other techniques listed below, this is the most effective way to farm Legendaries.

Defeat Elite Mobs

On the minimap, some enemies are identified with a skull that is much tougher than their regular versions. Keep an eye out on the minimap for these unusual foes as they spawn randomly in different zones. Defeat them since they have a higher chance of dropping legendary items.

Purchase from Rarities & Antiquities NPC

If you don't sure what to do with all your gold, an NPC in Westmarch can assist you with farming legendary gear. When you reach level 35, head to Yakin's Rarities & Antiquities in the southeast corner of Rakkis Plaza to wager your gold on mystery items.

Although the Mystery Items don't guarantee Legendary items, they are a quick and much easier way to test your luck. Just be careful not to wager more than ten times per category, as the cost of Gold will only reset the next day.

Purchase from Hilts Trader NPC

Another NPC in Westmarch guarantees a random Legendary Item, but you can only draw her once a week for 1,600 Hilts. The Hilts Trader is located in the northeastern part of Westmarch, and as you would have guessed, everything on the list costs Hilts.

Participate in Immortals or Shadows Content

Joining one of the factions makes it possible to participate in unique activities and earn benefits, such as legendary items. For instance, the Weekly Reward system of the Immortal Faction or the Contracts of the Shadow Faction both allows you to purchase Legendary Gear.

Only after completing The Cycle Begins and leveling up to 43 are you able to join a faction.

Complete Dungeons with an Increased Legendary Drop Rate

You can check your Codex and the Battle Pass menu to see which dungeons have higher possibilities of dropping Legendary Gear if you haven't yet farmed enough of it for the day. Keep in mind that not all enemies in the dungeon will drop things at a higher rate; only those that are dropped after you defeat the boss will.
